Yes x3 today, an hour walk for exercise6
-
@SModa61 Thanks for keeping our team on track. I appreciate you and your sacrifice to take the wheel.
I'll jump back in after the weekend.
Like you, at home, we are dealing with lots of home transition issues. It's a very emotional ride as we prepare to move from our home of 28 years.
Exercise: active stretching; walking; and a half day full of stair climbing; lifting; sorting and carrying the first wave of furnishings from the house.
Tracking: good
Calories: Under my limit, and I got to have pizza.11 -

Another pass day. I took a nasty spill on a walk yesterday and am completely bruised. Couldn’t exercise. Ate too many calories. Will try to get some walking/low impact/gentle workout in tomorrow.
Passes used: 27 -
Yes x3 today
Tomorrow will be a pass day due to eating dinner out. But before then I'll be taking 30 students to an outdoor adventure ropes/climbing tower/Zipline course and participating myself, so at least I'll have lots of exercise! It's supposed to rain all day, so here's to hoping I can keep the kids' attitudes positive!6 -

Taking a pass day. Daughters birthday and we ordered Chinese...didn't even try to to track that!

3 YES day. After a long day of work meetings starting at 7:00am, I shut down the laptop early and took an hour long walk around the neighborhood while listening to a podcast. It was a good day.6

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? YES, Managed about 10 minutes of Zumba, but too much heal pain and too much out of breath to keep up. I guess I was being overly optimistic when I chose an hour session. 🤣 Other than that I got a 34 min, 1.68 mile walk in this evening.
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? YES
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? YES5 -
@MadisonMolly2017 Any chocolate recommendations?
I have obviously blow my opening question today. Two for two are interpreting it that I am seeking advice for this exact woman. As I replied to Chinkiri's concerns, my intent was that the ideas could actually be helpful for our newest members or those struggling. I should have omitted the story that got me thinking and that gave me the prompt idea. It's looking like this opener is going to be an epic fail.
Not a fail at all! I didn’t interpret as just helping her. I was looking at the larger issue. … what could anyone have done to get me to “wake up”sooner? I think it was incredibly thought-provoking & you are doing an AMAZING JOB! @SModa61 ❤️❤️❤️6 -

While I don’t have anything to share in response to that, I do have to say @MadisonMolly2017 I like your idea of how to not throw in the towel!
I once heard this analogy- that if after you realize you’ve gone over your calories for the day, you just have an eating frenzy would be like discovering your car has a flat tire and then going and sticking a nail in the other 3!
Hahaha that is brilliant! @clutterqueen3 -
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? yes
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? yes
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? yes- Treadmill: 34 min / 2.01 mi
- Leg WO
Lightest day I've had this month I think. Wasn't feeling it today. I'm not sure how I managed it but I've tweaked my back even though I was doing a leg workout. Mostly lunges, squats, calve lifts and such. So I'm in a little pain this evening.
If someone asked for advice I'd probably just tell them what I've been doing and leave it at that.
Tomorrow I have a course from 10am-2pm which makes eating a problem. So far the plan is to eat a big breakfast and take a Kind bar with me in case I feel hungry at noon time.6 -

@clutterqueen @madisonmolly2017 The analogy is perfect. I remember it from my WW years. It is very visual and gets the point across well. All or nothing mental attitude is a challenging one and it is one I struggle with all the time. I'll try to see breaking my day into segments helps overcome it.2 -

@rangerrickL Really glad you are accomplishing much of what you hoped to. Our Real Estate is showing up here again this morning to follow up on our next steps.2 -
Three yes today. Day was rather broken up and no time for a single exercise period, so I jumped on the bike three times throughout the day doing 3 miles each time. Got in 35 minutes of exercise. Tracking and calories were both good.8

All yes today!4

Pass day 1. Didn't track and definitely went over. But it was the best pizza I have had in a year and I thoroughly enjoyed it, so no regrets!6

@Oofta - when I went on vacation in April, I realized that it’s not a license to eat whatever I wanted whenever I wanted, as much as I wanted. If this is a lifestyle change, then I continue to make the same good choices I’m making now. Granted, eating 8n restaurants makes the choices a little more difficult, but it’s possible. Also, remind yourself that vacation isn’t about food, it’s about what you’re seeing or doing or visiting. Hope something helps. It can be tough for sure.
@mshawski - oh my gosh that is so sweet! I love that he wants to get dressed up wit( his bow tie.4 -
10th June
Yes yes and yes. It was an emotional day for me as talking out sum stuff with my life long best friend. Naturally turned to food for comfort but thankfully was able to stop myself before i caused to much damage.
@SModa61 ur doing great!! My advice wld be to join UAC. Before joining UAC i thought counting calories and weighing food was over the top and i didn't even realise i was over eating nor did i know wat my triggers were. Uac taught me all of this and so much more. So once again my advice wld be join UAC so that person can be around ppl that can motivate, encourage and teach them! Xo
@Oofta_1507 hve u considered increasing ur calories to maintaince calories? This may be worth doing as that way u can still enjoy all ur treats that come with holidaying but u are also not going too crazy either. Good luck with it. Xox

As someone who has been on many many diets/foodplans, I would say a person simply has to be ready with their heart, body and soul. I have seen lots of good advice and gotten many ideas from this group. Everyone is different and has different needs and wants. Basically, once you are ready to get fit, keep going and do not give up simply because you had a bad day, week or even month. Getting fit after you have been overweight for many years, truly is a marathon not a sprint event with the prize being a healthier you.5 -

Whew! Yesterday was particularly crazy, but I got everything in!
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes, 45 minute walk that definitely relieved stress.
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes!

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? I don't think I did. I didn't carry my phone with me on the dog walks, but I'm pretty sure they were very short "potty spins" due to the heat. So... no.
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes.
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes.
Second pass day used. 2/3

Except for me vacation is about the food especially when I'm going out of country. I have a reputation amongst my friends and family as being a foodie even though I personally hate that word. But I enjoy experiencing the local food. Some place like New Orleans for example is about the food. I take cooking classes in European and Asian countries. I also have a thing about visiting distilleries, wineries and breweries.
However, the strategy I'm planning for the future is to share plates with my partner so I can sample more without going overboard. I generally walk a lot on vacations. I've also found the vacation weight gain is temporary and I lose it within a week or so of returning home anyway.4 -

The only chocolate we eat: 82% very dark chocolate by Scharffenberger
It’s not cheap, which also helps us eat it as a treat!
Note: I hated dark chocolate until I heard a chocolatier talk about how to properly enjoy it. Let it melt in your mouth for 15 seconds! Helps me to savor it.
I often eat it with latte or even tea which also melts it and the latte with the chocolate is like hot chocolate - my favorite food in the world 🌎

Thank you Maddie. I do like dark chocolate. I'll have to give this a try!2 -
I like the Alter Eco dark chocolate. 85%
https://www.alterecofoods.com/products/dark-blackout
Normally I'm a purist and don't like anything added to it but they also have burnt caramel (70%) that is good. They also have total blackout of 100% cocoa but that might be too much even for me.
