Yesterday was our official Non-Scale-Victory day.
If you have not yet shared your NSV, please do it today.
Also, please go back and read yesterday's posts. I will since I don't want to miss anyone's NSVs.
Thanks, Rick5 -
I MUST share something, I just cannot keep it for myself. This might help somebody to keep going and don't give up. I decided to pre-watch Day 3 of EPIC 1 which is Bodyweight Core & Abs Workout just to see what is awaiting for me. It is a killer... The first thought was that with my so called "core" I have no chance... Then I scrolled down the comments and found the following. Thank you to this unknown person for returning hope to me
"Idk if there'll be a person reading this or not but I remember the first time I did this workout, I could only went up till half of the video and end up crying realizing how weak my core were at that time and I feel so frustrated that I couldn’t do most of the exercises properly. But I came back here again after finishing epic I and currently am halfway through epic II and I'm happy to say that I could finally finish this whole workout and do all those moves I had once struggled to do before. I just wanna say to those who feel like they are having a hard time perfecting their moves or getting through this in general, don’t give up yet! Just keep on pushing yourself and give your body a chance, it'll surprise you in a way you would never imagine it could You'll one day look back and thank your past self for not giving up. We got this!!"
From now on this will be my motto: "Give your body a chance, it'll surprise you in a way you would never imagine it could. You'll one day look back and thank your past-self for not giving up."
PS It was so nice to learn about others NSVs. They are definitely not less important than pounds gone… This is another good idea of you, Rick10 -
AM I ALONE HERE? Ok? I close the day

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes?
• Jogging 7.51 km in 0:48:03 (6:24 min/km – above average; top 38%)
• 44 min DAY 3 of EPIC I Bodyweight Core & Abs Workout. This was tough and far away from perfect. I modified a lot… This EPIC-thing nailed me last night. I woke up because of my sore muscles, although I have been doing J. Michaels “Lift and Shred” for few month on a more or less regular basis. My buttocks hurt today during the running and some other muscles I never knew that I have… I think it a very good program
• Fitness Age/VO2max: 20/40
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes Fasting Day
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes
Pass days used: 0 of 3
Additional NSV: I took my measurements today and the difference with the last one of March 16 is noticeable (and with the original – is impressive, for me, at least): breast – 6cm (total 11 cm); waist – 13 cm (total 24 cm); hips – 10 cm (total 15 cm); upper leg – 5 cm (total 9 cm); lower leg – 2 cm (total 2 cm – due to my running there is not much to lose in this area). I am so thankful to my body that it cooperates with me and so positively responsive to all my new endeavours.
The weight is going up for two days already and definitely not because of eating. May be water retention due to strength workouts. We will see… Body fat% is changing during the day drastically and depends on the hydration level I guess. I should read the manual and learn more how to get more accurate measurements.

Over on calories today but not too much and reasonable choices. Otherwise a good day. Went running earlier than planned because it was such a beautiful morning. Haven’t done a pre sunrise run in a long time and it’s such an amazing experience. Very constructive day at work! Here’s a cute picture of some of my vicious little demons (they look so cute but we always walk away from their feeds bleeding!) These are the juvenile African Blackfoot penguins.

When I think about today's quote "Look back to learn how to look forward" I'm reminded of my 18 months using MFP. I didn't have it all together at first - I still don't - but I just logged my food daily.
By this time next month, however, I'll have been tracking my body measurements bimonthly for a year. That's 24 points of data. I don't talk about my weight much, nor do I do before/after photos but I think I'll share the difference in measurements, if only to surprise myself lol
Plus, after writing June's NSVs and reading some of the other always inspiring posts from fellow UACers, I'll stop the body recomp and go into maintenance after finishing this 90-day program. Speaking of which...
---|---|---|--
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? YES | Theresa Depasquale's 90-Day Workout Program (30), Running (27), Stretching (20) TOTAL: 77
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? YES | *Base + 487
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? YES |

*NOTE: Stretching counted as half the calories
Personal Bonus: Did I meet my protein macro for the day (40%)? NO | 35%
Pass Days Used: (JUN04)
Honesty Card: Yesterday, I only ended up doing half of the 35-min workout. My body was so tight (I pushed my running pace earlier in the day). I'll be sure to stretch more this month and do fewer two-a-day training combos.4 -
I've been very lax about checking in this month. Generally staying on track, though today was Pass #5 due to an ice cream celebration when our dog was given a clean bill of health. 🎊 It was worthy of an indulgence!
Looking back, these six months in the UAC have taught me how important it is to just keep going, even when you're disappointed in yourself. I'm a huge Type A person, so perfectionism is my nemesis. But the point is to stick to the plan more days than not.7 -
I tracked my food the ice cream is gone !! Logged and tracked had 2 calories to spare walked at lunch and did spin this afternoon.
Overall a nice day7 -

Here at my house, everything is in upheaval. Painters are working through the first floor. We are sorting through decades of photographs, books, and stuff accumulated while raising our 4 children.
It's a complete Pass Day for me.
I'll do the best I can, but each day is a day of stressful activity.

I’m sorry it’s so stressful @RangerRickL. Are you beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel? I hope so.
I have spent a lot of time going through things, but some ah-ha’s I’ve had & your sharing of your experience, are making me rally for another “more ruthless” pass of old photos & memorabilia.
Take good care,
Maddie 🌸4 -
