Congrats to all of our Champions listed yesterday! Your perseverance is inspiring to all.
Happy Independence Day fellow American citizens!
Today I wasn't able to complete my scheduled 2.5 hour long run due to some stiffness and soreness from the fall when I fainted. I walked a bunch of hills instead for that time, which felt OK and still gave a nice large calorie burn which was helpful for today's dinner plans. All went well, mostly due to prelogging after the walk.
I was irritated at first about canceling the long run, but I am better off for it. I would be aching, maybe immobile had I pushed myself through it. Makes no sense to do it if it doesn't make me better off for it!

@WhatMeRunning I'm so glad you didn't push yourself and make it worse! You are so right about perhaps injuring yourself further and that it doesn't make sense to do it if it doesn't make you better off for it. It's HARD for us to let our bodies rest sometimes - and often that's what we (our body) need more than pushing ourselves!! 💚💛💙💓2 -
Happy 4th of July to all American UACers. My dinner was a hamburger of solidarity 🇺🇸 💕 🇨🇦
I can't be the only one who looks forward to seeing the colouring in of @MadisonMolly2017's journal. It's so pretty!
I love that you had a hamburger! 🇺🇸🎉
Thank you @MaltedTea ! They are a lot of fun & really help me when I need to nudge the scale back into my Goal Zone (Maintenance)

Sometimes I hit "done" instead of "post reply" and then wonder where it disappears...2 -

@Higa2021 I've done this exact same thing several times..... but think I've finally got this one figured out. I think they should flip flop those 2 buttons (on the app) because I think a lot of people do that same thing!2 -

Chose to take the day off from tracking. Was a very nice day with my daughter hosting a 4th of July get together in her new home. Lots went on - shuttling grandparents and other relative for her. A "pass" for today, but I am fine with that as it was with intent.
I need to go through the past few days posts. Things a hectic ATM, but I should catch up.5 -

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes. Crazy day, but I faithfully did my 30 minutes of Cubii at 10pm. Definitely a thanks to this group.
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes. Fasted until 4pm, but saved enough calories to have a nice grilled dinner with my inlaws, including a piece of my FIL's birthday cake.
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes. Even the little chunk of brown sugar that hopped out of the bowl while I was making brownies for family grill out. Hopefully reasonable estimates where I couldn't weigh things.5 -
Jul 4:
✔️ EXERCISE: 90 minutes walking around the lake tonight.

PASSES USED: 1/3 (3Jul)
"The only difference between failure and success is your willingness to make mistakes, get back up, and keep moving forward." ~Unknown."
I did much better today and I also walked all the way around the lake. We'll head back home to Ohio tomorrow.
Holidays are often difficult to stay UNDER and to track.... but I try not to beat myself up about it if I take a Pass Day on a holiday. I gently remind myself that I didn't become overweight by over-eating on holidays. I became overweight by over-eating every OTHER day of the year!!!5 -
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? YES (18 mile bike ride with hubby)
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? YES
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? YES

Back from The Netherlands! Saw my Mum, finally, after 17 months. She'll be 99 in September and still lives independently. Saw my sister, her daughter and two little boys, also my two best friends in The Netherlands. Had a great time, but calorie counting and recording was impossible! I didn't eat anything crazy, but the Dutch diet contains too many carbohydrates for me: bread and cheese especially. I did manage to walk most days though!
Going with my partner to an Alzheimer's Society lunch today, but after that I can get back to 'normal' and UAC.7 -

My husband does this ALL THE TIME when he uses his phone to try to post to the message boards.. he rarely posts and when he does it's usually a novel that he loses when he hits that done button.. lol.. it drives him crazy.1 -

Today's highlight was a gathering of our 4 children, their spouses and our grandchildren. It was not only the Fourth of July, Independence Day but also, a passing of family heirlooms and Christmas ornaments from Rose and I to our next generations.
There was lots of love, laughter and legacy.
My wife, Rose, had set up our living room and dining area as if she was running a flea market seller's tables.
Each child took turns choosing from among things ranging from modestly valuable to sentimental-but-valueless items. It started out on the serious and somewhat sad side but gradually brightened. From my point of view, it was delightful to see how many items the children actually wanted.
As we divest most of our accumulated stuff, I'm really glad that I got to be a living part of today's transition.
On the UAC side of things, I definitely violated @Mrs_Hoffer well articulated discussion theme of tracking.
I am a firm believer in tracking, but today was not a day of tracking calories. It was a day that ended in lots of fireworks and family togetherness.
We are grateful for today's blessings. I promise to get back to tracking on most days.

Happy Independence day to all Americans. The day was lovely until about 30 minutes ago when several neighbors started setting off illegal fireworks. Our cat is hiding in the bathroom behind the commode. I feel so bad for her. Normally if you scratch her head she's in heaven but at the moment she is all head down and ears back.3
