Congrats!!! We are 1 week into July!!!
This month is already being a challenge for me and it does not appear that I am alone in this struggle. July started off with a holiday and I have lots of travel planned for later this month that is already making me anxious. I remind myself that all dips are temporary and a healthy life is my ‘normal’. Every day I am with the program is a good day! And every day I make a step forward regardless of how small in the direction of where I want to go, I feel better for it.
Being here and posting this is just one of those small steps that makes a positive difference.
I can do this and ‘will’ do this regardless of the obstacles that continue to come my way!
How about you? How is your first week into the month of July going?
Remind yourself that you are here and this makes you a champion!14 -

Pass day number 2.
Although I had two pass days already, I still believe I'm doing good in comparison to June.
I had my schedules wrong, so I ended up with lots of work, hence the pass day. But I believe I should do better for the rest of the month. I don't have many plans, so I aim to have a super healthy vacation, fingers crossed.
Goodnight 💜💛11 -
✅✅✅ for today. Work is busy. It’s pretty funny what you find in your desk after 16 months which is no longer good.😳😳😳11

July has been good so far. I am working on consolidating the habits that I’ve developed over the last few years, and creating new ones. and it’s going well.
Every day I celebrate that I’ve come so far and achieved so much more than I expected.

@SummerSkier - I am very curious what was in your desk!
✅ Exercise - Walked 1, ran 3ish, was reminded that sleeveless in 90+ degrees just means the sweat runs down my arm instead of being absorbed by a shirt #dontgosleevelss. Unrelated, where does one sign up to be one of those girls that doesn’t sweat when they run? Asking for a friend. 😬

What I've learned in the first week of July?
* Workouts may look short, but that doesn't mean they're easy
* Exercise progressions are your friend so that you don't feel like giving up
* Leg raises will make your lower abs hurt for at least 5 days, affecting your ability to laugh without being in pain
Onwards and upwards, as they say 💁🏿♀️

How is your first week into the month of July going?

This first week was a struggle, I need to remember I have NO control over how people react to a situation. I WON’T let emotional eating attack me!
Atomic Habits Tiny changes. Remarkable Results James Clear is a extremely interesting book!
1. Hiding or shaming ourselves doesn't fix the situation. When we show up and share, we admit that we're not where we want to be, and that's where transformation happens.
2. 99% of people pull back and hide because they want to wait until it gets better before they show up and share, thinking they have nothing worthy to offer.
3. When you show up and share you're struggling, it gives someone else permission to realize it's OK to do the same.
4. Consistency - not perfection is what leads to success. Being consistent is more important than all else.10 -

What great insight! It takes many of us a lifetime to figure this out! We truly can’t control how others react to a situation. We can only control what we do in response.5 -
July 7:
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes, it was quite a day today, but I got in a 30-minute walk.
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Barely!
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes.
Pass days used: 1/3
I would say July is off to a pretty good start. I am keeping things in perspective. Since starting MFP in May, I have not lost as much weight as I had hoped by this point, but I have not gained any back. So, no yo-yo. And, that is a win for me and a motivation to keep going at this steady pace.

Thnx for sharing the pic @clutterqueen💛
@mshawski It means your friend😉 is well hydrated, good job!
Lol @MaltedTea. Last Friday I did my first ever ab exercises and ended up taking Tylenol the next day! And that was just 10 minutes of exercises with 15 second breaks in between each 40 second exercise, not even 10 full minutes!
@GrandmaJackie Good points, both from you and the book. My sister told me a long time ago that you can't control how others act, only how you react. It takes practice but you can get to where you need to be.
Yes x 3 today.
How is my July going so far? Well let's just say I'm looking rather colorful and I've learned that I shouldn't take a phonecall on my bike... Oh and that Tylenol works for all kinds of ailments 🙂10 -
@JennyRebecca1978 Breaking the yo-yo cycle is a struggle for so many. I’m impressed you are going the slow and steady route instead! I agree it’s definitely a win!4
