3 YES day. Weights with a trainer and 30 minute treadmill walk.8

Did I exercise at least 20 minutes? I did, but it was piecemeal... walking here, dancing at my desk when nobody else was in the room (I need to do this more often - hahahah!), stairs, walking there, a brisk walk through the grocery store to pick up specific things, and walking the dog. A little bit here and a little bit there. But it was a little over 20 minutes in total.
Did I track everything? I did.
Did I stay under calorie budget? I did!
WOOT! A three-yes day. LOL I think that makes the third one this month.
Quick questions for those of you who bike -- what kind of bike do you ride? Road bike? Mountain Bike? Hybrid? Cyclocross? Gravel? What make? I'm thinking of getting myself a new bike and giving my bike to Aislinn to replace the one that was stolen and I'm looking for any recommendations or insights from other cyclists. Thanks.
Working on making the three tenets of UAC habits. I may not get it right all the time but quitting is not an option any more. If I quit, it will be no time at all before I get back up to where I was and likely higher. So... tracking everything, even if I'm eyeballing it and picking a likely option from the MFP database, is something I need to keep doing. I think I'm doing pretty well with that at this point. Staying within calories is my next habit and to do that I think I'll need to buy a new food scale. (See what I said about eyeballing what I'm eating). I'm already in the habit of weighing myself daily. My exercising daily needs some work. I'm working on it.
Good night/Good morrow, UAC fam!10 -

I had some time constraints today so only did 20 instead of 35 minutes on the treadmill. My upper body workout was on the abbreviated side (only 3 reps instead of 4). But at least I did it.
I'll be leaving town tomorrow and returning on Saturday at which time I'll catch up with my posts.

@jamcnewman - hang in there. Some days everything seems good, some days it’s a struggle. Are you familiar with the half size me podcast? Several of us are fans. If you’d like, I can recommend some of my favorite episodes that really transformed my approach to weight loss.5

@MadisonMolly2017 - I feel like I should write you a check every month for counseling/therapy fees. You are extraordinarily full of wisdom and insight.5

So many things to consider. How many miles are you riding? Do you like trails? Do you ever see yourself bikepacking? Do you want to to sit more upright or are you ok on drop handlebars? My suggestion is to go to a bike shop, get fitted, and they’ll let you test ride several. Google “how to decide on a bike” and see what advice is out there. Gravel bikes are definitely the rage right now and do seem like a better alternative to a hybrid. The trouble is, there is still a shortage of bikes. If you know what you want, check out proscloset.com and bikeexchange.com for a used one. Good luck!

hopefully I end the day by providing the UAC a good laugh.
I was quickly scanning down the posts in preparation of adding mine, and I saw @GrandmaJackie 's. My first thought was that someone is having the same sort of August as me. Then I realized that 8/10 was the date and not her pass count.........
@twistedsassette I hope your results come back quickly and are negative. Wishing you good health!
Starting the 11th with Advil for breakfast. Numb toes mean compressed back nerves and also having caffiene withdrawl. I'm off to a great day!10 -

I ride a mountain bike with really good knobby tires are we are very close to the trails in our neighborhood it’s pretty good on the road as well gets me through the sand in the spring. Mine is a Mt. Shasta it’s over 30 yo and still handles like new I don’t even know if they still make them but it has 21 gears which make for easy work of it at times it’s on its way to the shop now for a tune up good luck in your bike shopping2 -

Tracking - yes
Cal - yes. Actually didn't even hit 1200 so maybe a no
Execise- no. Schedule got derailed in morn for work so didn't walk. Was going to in afternoon but it poured rain. I could've done HIIT workout which I need to start doing but the truth is, I think I'm scared to. Embarrassed because I feel like whole house shakes when I jump, scared my knee will really hurt, and some undefined emotion about it just being difficult and not wanting to.7 -
@TwistedSassette I sure hope your test is negative and that you feel better SOON!!!!

Thanks for this topic! It was just in time for me😅. I was thinking, this is so hard, can I stick with it all month? And thank you @Mrs_Hoffer for your encouragement to us new folks😀.

Walking the dog8 -
Yes, yes and yes
Walking. Started a yoga workout and quit 4 minutes into after feeling really exhausted. I am not sure what that was about. If I need to focus on one thing, it might be figuring out how to get my energy levels up. I did take a look on Amazon to look at marbles...5 -

Thanks so much @biketheworld for the suggestion and for your encouragement 🥰 I’d love some episode recommendations — they have SO many episodes!1 -
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? No
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes
I have to admit that todays example really hit home. I have had a hard time getting back into the groove of tracking after being not being part of the group for a few months. I can usually do one or two of the 3 but rarely all 3. Just have to keep trying.5 -

@biketheworld
You are so kind! I have spent a fair amount of the past 5-3/4 years really working to figure this out.
Each of us DOES have our own path, but I do believe that the path can be made easier in many ways!
Your appreciation inspires me to keep pecking away on my phone… my motto is “if it helps just one person….”
Thank you!! ❤️❤️❤️3 -

Exercise – yes, bike ride 60+ minutes, plus light cardio (ribs still sore)
Tracking – yes
Calories – yes
@biketheworld great topic today, thanks. I think it applies to all sorts of different situations where we feel faced with an impossible task. Certainly, weight loss and/or developing health lifestyle can appear daunting at first.
@seilidhe
I have three bikes – the oldest is a bog standard, general purpose, bike (21 gears which helps with hills) which I've had for about 15 years. The next was a folding bike which I used to put in the boot of the car, drive part way to work, park, unpack the bike and ride the last 2 miles. (My commute was 9 miles with a nasty hill and several miles of busy main road, this plan worked brilliantly until my friend moved house so I didn’t have anywhere convenient to leave the car). My lovely new bike is electric and the most fun! It also folds so I can get it in the car if I want to take it anywhere.
