The older you get, the tougher it is to lose weight, because by then your body and your fat are really good friends.-Bob Hope8 -

I’m quite short and before I retired, fairly sedentary so my calorie allowance was very low, so if I was going to eat out with friends, family gatherings etc I needed to restrict calories on other days. It worked very well.
Thank you. This approach makes total sense for me as I’m short too and being short leave less wiggle room with calories but I still want to socialise!

Oops, looks like I'm going to have to use a pass day today. Pass Day #1. Started tracking just fine but had the munchies tonight and it's too difficult, or I'm just too lazy, to try to estimate amounts. Most likely went over my calorie target but not by a whole lot is my guess.
I did get a little activity in, a 20 minute walk and used the dumbbells for 10 minutes.

Exercise today was 2.5 hours hiking at Pettit Jean State Park in Arkansas down into the Cedar Falls Cave with my stepson and grandchildren. Then, when we got back to the house, I walked 60 more minutes. We'll be here in Arkansas another full day, and Tuesday we'll drive back to Ohio.7 -

Used #1 if 3 pass days
To much stress with my parents dementia. My mom was mad at me for not telling her I was her daughter. But then today (Sept) she knows who I am and said she loves me. Stress is my biggest hurdle. I can exercise all day and this situation never gets easier to deal with.
Regarding exercise and weight loss, when I was in my teens and twenties the more I exercised the more weight I lost. But after my late 30’s, that all changed. Exercise alone does not help me loose weight.
That’s why I joined this group, I need accountability on tracking my food.11 -

Did I exercise at least 20 minutes? Today was run/walk time. Sloth/hot, tired sloth pace. 5.15 miles in 90 minutes or so.
Did I track everything? Yep.
Did I eat within my calorie goals? Nope.
I guess, at this point, my pass days are 4/3.
Exercising makes me hungry. And I don't always choose wisely when I'm really hungry. Back a few years ago when I was here, I was exercising a lot (gym classes and run/walk - I was doing something 6 days a week) and I was eating pretty much whatever I wanted, albeit in moderation. These days I'm not exercising as much nor, lately, am I being as careful about my calories. And I'm starting to put weight back on. So, obviously, I need to both exercise and keep track of calories in order to lose weight.8 -

Treadmill: 35 mins / 1.89 mi
HIIT Warm Up: 5 mins
Day 5: Beginner EPIC Full Body HIIT Workout: 33 mins
Pool (light exercise): about 60 mins
Apple rings closed: 5/30
Passes used: 2/3 (1sep) (4sep)
I am not sure if I'll be able to continue with the weekly HIIT workout part of EPIC. I may have to switch to one of her low impact aerobic ones instead. Most of the lunge variations in this one were too hard on my knees so I had to do quite a few modifications. Also, there were too many burpees which is something I've never done before today. I ended up doing push-ups about half the time instead. I plan to start EPIC I tomorrow. I'll continue to make modifications where I need to in order to keep my knees happy.5
