Hello everyone & Happy Monday! For many of us on this side of the globe, this particular Monday in September marks the end of summer and the beginning of Autumn. September means the kids are back in school, the extreme heat starts to wane, summer holidays have been taken, and now we settle into our familiar routines until our Christmas break. Today's intro is a reminder of all we're trying to achieve; a mantra if you will, to start us off on the right foot for the upcoming season. Repeat after me:
I will make my health a priority.
I will nourish my body with real food when I am hungry.
I will focus on breaking bad habits that don't serve my body & mind.
I will move more and appreciate what my body can do.
I will let go of guilt if I fall off track.
I will get back up again.
I will make my health a priority.

Hi Jana,,, self talk is always good! Nice list.....
I will make my health a priority. 20 minutes.
I will nourish my body with real food when I am hungry. I am unable to really use hunger as a key anymore sadly
I will focus on breaking bad habits that don't serve my body & mind. I think better to build new GOOD habits and let the bad ones fall on their own
I will move more and appreciate what my body can do. sometimes when I am hating the run I think of this and feel grateful
I will let go of guilt if I fall off track. very important to stay off the rollercoaster
I will get back up again. yes and I won't wait for "tomorrow or Monday or a new month or a new week or year
I will make my health a priority. 20 minutes. Not that much time in the scheme of things12 -

@Jana_2020 Thanks for the reminders.
I will make my health a priority – trying to get there.I have had a terrible 2 years – my son was diagnosed with a brain tumour in October 2019, and died in March 2021. During those 18 months I was under extreme stress and distress, which the Covid restrictions made worse. His death left me wounded and beyond grief. I am only able to prioritise my health by remembering that I still have a wonderful daughter and an amazing daughter-in-law and four grandchildren to love and care for.
Nourish my body with real food – yes, I cook my own food, lots of freggies!
Bad habits v good habits – work in progress
Moving more – yes, the benefit of being retired.
Let go of guilt if (when) I fall off – that’s difficult.
Get back up again – yes, usually.

My goals achieved today is a lot shorter than the last week. I'm okay with that though as I can't be perfect everyday right!
@Jana_2020 wat beautiful words and exactly wat alto of us needed to hear. I read this 3 times so it can really sink in! He he! Guilt is a huge 1 for me it's something I feel a lot in general and something I'm trying to feel less of these days. @lesdarts180 and @summerskier absolutely love it take on this topic! Thanks for sharing lots of wisdom and experience there. Hve a blessed day everyone. Xo9 -

Thought I'd reflect on last weeks goals: fish 3x ✅, Fruit daily (low goal I know)✅, Daily Dozen 20/24❌ . This week I'm focusing on improving my protein %. Last week I averaged 54%. Sunday I hit 87% and today 67% (113 grams though which is really good for me). Trying to hit 70-75% for the week. Is anyone else ravenous after strength training? It leaves me so hungry while spinning tends to make me not hungry 🧐 .9 -
