November is the eleventh and penultimate month of the year in the Julian and Gregorian Calendars,
the fourth and last of four months to have a length of 30 days and the fifth and last of five months
to have a length of fewer than 31 days. November was the ninth month of the calendar
of Romulus c. 750 BC.

UAC members are a fantastic resource. There is always someone willing to answer any questions you may have. However, did you know that there are other resources within the UAC? They are on the group page under ANNOUNCEMENTS- Introductions - This is where you can tell us a little about yourself
- Whatโs on your mind today? - Our general chat thread.
- Rules - an explanation of how UAC works
- FAQโs - First port of call if you have a query
These are all great places to go to find out about the UAC. Learn more about your fellow members in โIntroductionsโ and check out the "What's on your mind todayโ for a little extra chit-chit and finding out where the cool kids hang out.
Let's rock and roll, folks.12 -

Date: November 2nd
Exercised?: No. I did my two push-ups for the day, but thatโs it. I truly need to plan my exercise better and get into a routine.
Calories?: No. This is the first time in about a month that I havenโt stayed under my budget. I suppose Halloween upped my appetite.
Tracked?: Yes. Would rather not see the total number go red again.
Only two days in and Iโm using a pass day. At least thereโs accountability; Iโm more determined to improve now.14 -
Personal goals for November 2021:
Every month, I like to revisit my previous goals and reset them for the new month.
1. Plan to be in winners circle (track everything as expected in this UAC)
2. Not more than 3 pass days
3. Stay honest (even if it puts me out of the circle for the month). This is very important to me. This UAC challenge is a honour system.
4. Maintain the habits of "kitchen close"
5. Create a habit of not eating more than 1 serving of nuts. "Don't go nuts". I am getting a handle on this goal. But will continue to maintain it!
6. I will like to work on not going over my micro for sugar for the day. This means I need to work on the fruits I eat since most of my sugar come from my fruits. I like fruits, but I have discovered that they could derail you.
5. Forgive my mistakes (forgive myself) and don't leave the UAC for this month even if I failed. Very important for consistency and accountability.
6. Encourage others where possible.

Welcome new and old members.
Welcome November, 2021!
For those of us in the northmost part of the northern hemisphere, we celebrated our Thanksgiving last month. Therefore, we over the Thanksgiving "weight gain"
For those of you in the Southern hemisphere, I hope you are enjoying your warmer weather
The UAC challenge has only 3 rules.- Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes?
- Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day?
- Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank?
At first glance, they look very simple. From my experience these rules are applicable to anyone at any stage of this health journey (I called it "health journey" not "diet"). Whether you are just beginning this health journey, advanced in this process or just maintaining. (BTW, I've being in maintenance for the past 11 years).
I have come to realized that these are the only things that nobody in this life will do for me. Nobody can eat for me/you, exercise for me/you or track what I/you eat, lick or bite in this world. This is all about me/you, my/your health, and my usefulness to those around me! If I don't take care of my health then I cannot take care of anybody. (You are always advised to put on your mask when there is low pressure in the plane before helping your child/anybody, else both of you will/may die )
Does it mean that I will not fail? No, it is not about being perfect! But it about forming a habit. A habit that will bless me and move me forward in life, it will also bless those around me.
Therefore, as you join us in this month's UAC, you do not have to be perfect. We are not There is nothing you are going through that no one in this group has not experienced. You are not the only one out there! This is a very supportive group. We will support you as you learn these habits. Come by everyday, read encouraging, funny, and realistic posts, and post something.
If you have at most 3 pass days (pass day is a day where you could not say "Yes" to any of these 3 rules). Then you are in Winner's circle.
If you have more than 3 pass day but you were here everyday, you are in the Champion's circle.
Welcome, let's hold unto one another like the Sea Otters. Let's each other hands through this month!
"Otter groups are called rafts, and the animals famously hold hands to keep from drifting apart." (https://animals.net/sea-otter/)

Yes x 3 today. I planned to do a few short 5 minute intervals to climb stairs and walk around the yard just to break up all the sitting I do while working. I also planned to bike ride after work. But it was so cold that the light rain was turning into snow. It turned to water again once it the ground: conversational snow as our local weatherman said, lol. It was a little too cold for a bike ride for me, so I decided to do another round on the stairs this evening and skip the ride. It was only 21 minutes of stair climbing and walking all broken up -- but it still counts.4 -

โ๏ธโ๏ธโ๏ธgot it all done. Even baked my special dark oatmeal cookies. Managed to keep even the fats down.
Talked to my PCP today and he agrees about tackling this cholesterol spike with diet. He half heartedly offered meds. He seemed pleased that I had already made adjustments. I go to the pulmonologist tomorrow to check my lungs post covid. @Katiecan2021 I understand stand the struggle. I got it late August and was hospitalized for half of September. Sickest I have ever been. I hope she will have good news too.10 -
