For our US based members, today is Thanksgiving. I thought today we could reflect on things we are thankful for, as that is not specific to any region or tradition, so all can share if they would like to.
I asked to keep this date as my only remaining Thursday post in November after surgery because I expected to have a lot to be thankful for.
I can only imagine how large of a spoiler @Mrs_Hoffer probably thought I would write. I certainly figured I would create something like that myself. π
Alas, I can't quite find the words to express my sincere gratitude for all of you here making the UAC happen, and I mean all of you, from our old and new leaders, to everyone who has volunteered to help, and everyone who posts and has shared a part of their lives with me during a 2021 which I can now look back upon as filled with many blessings.
All I can say is...
THANK YOU!
I hope all of you have an enjoyable day!13 -
Happy thanksgiving everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving to those from the US!
Today is a yes for all 3.
I am now not sure if my pass from the other day was, as I back-tracked and came in under; however as it is a grey area in reverse, I will just aim for the champion's list rather than the winner's as these last few days only just slipped in. I am a bit unsure now whether it is 3 or 4 pass days, so I will stop noting it, call it as 4 and just aim for no further passes this month.8 -

Date: November 25th
Exercised?: Yes, walk and 25 push-ups today! It feels like less of a chore now and more fun. I think it being easier now (as Iβve gotten stronger) is why itβs more enjoyable.
Calories?: Yes.
Tracked?: Yes.
(Pass days used: 3/3)
Happy thanksgiving to the americans here! Hope you all have a great day.8 -
This is my 3rd pass day.
β exercise - 30 mins fartleck run
β calories - it was a lot. There were two pies, one pumpkin and one cherry both homemade so I had them out of curtesy ππ they were so delicious. Just the right amount of sweetness so I felt fine after.
β tracking - 350 calories over. Had I pretracked that second cherry pie I wouldβve noticed I was over and saved it for later.
Today was such a lovely day. Iβm still on a high from it.8 -

Happy Thanksgiving to all my mfp friends no matter where you live we all have so much to be thankful for. As I thought about todayβs question I have much to be thankful for, my family, my dad making a complete recovery from open heart surgery, my mom for being mom and so much more the list could be endless. I just wish we would all remember these things we are grateful for throughout the year and be kind and thoughtful all the time to one another I think it may make the world a little bit kinder.
I tracked logged and just made it now I will finish my wine have a great evening.9 -

Another successful Thanksgiving was held here at home today. This year was the most challenging but we prepared everything as planned for everyone, and everyone stayed safe and everyone enjoyed the time together. It is always nice to see my son come home to visit, very proud of the person he has grown up to be. It reminds me of a simpler time when he was little and it was just the 3 of us and we did so many things together.7 -
Exercise. π πββοΈGot up at 7 and faced the 33 degree day with enthusiasm and knocked out a 4.7 mile turkey trot. I passed on the water station shots and post run beer lol
Tracking: no way of doing so really and decided I had no interest in even trying. Although it is a pass I still give my usual π because I made a decision I am happy with.
Calories: no clue how many, definitely over but less than it traditionally would have been. I made a few choices to omit some calories, but overall just to let it go. Again, no remorse and still a π.
So finally a pass day, and a whole lot of reflection on my weight loss journey.
I hope everyone had a wonderful day!!!9 -

β walked in AMπ proud of this

Because I was careful prior to thanksgiving, ALL of my stats were low/normal for the week despite some higher salt/sat fat foods today.
Thrilled.

Yes for 3! SURPRISINGLY!
Family walk and crawling around after Grandbaby. All of that after our seafood feast! Lights are on the tree! and I am happy that the girls are planning the feast at Christmas. We announced today that I (mom) would not be able to cook that one and they really got excited I was asking them for help! I am so glad they are excited. Blessed beyond measure today and everyday.7 -
Today will be a pass day because itβs impossible to log my dinner. Per the Apple health app I walked 20,000+ mi (9.5 miles) today. Thatβs way more than normal.
Our view this afternoon:
5 -
Exercise: 2 good exergame walking sessions, plus other walks for a total of over 11,000 steps by bedtime
Logged: ended up with fitbit granting me 300 exercise-credit calories. Only ate back half of those (don't like leaving THAT big a gap between calories eaten and calories earned. Generally, I try to earn / leave uneatenen ~ 100 fitbit exercise calorie credits. )
Under Goal: as mentioned above, left ~ 150 exercise credits in the pot. Not being in the US, it was more like a "normal day" for me.
Thankful / grateful for- when I came back after a 7.5 month absence, this group was still in existance! (even though I see that @RangerRickL had passed the torch in the meantime)
- some of the familiar names were still here
- I have made new friends with people who found this wonderful virtual support-circle in my absence
- I am lucky enough to work in an environment where management takes 'supporting mental wellness' seriously, and walks the talk when needed.
- that I get to work off-site / have done so steadily from the beginning of the first all-of-Canada Stay in Place order back in March 2020 / and will most likely get to continue doing so right up until I retire at Christmas 2023.

Planned Pass Day. I didn't track, but I'm sure I went over. I also didn't get in my turkey Trot (walk) because it trained all day!

Exercise? Yes, but only because I walked the dog twice and had to run up and down the stairs a couple of times before leaving for my daughter's apartment because I kept forgetting things. Hahaha!
Tracking? I'm going to take a no on this one. I put in everything I ate, but I have no idea how much of most of it I ate. I didn't measure or weigh anythinng.
Calories? Way over. I know this because I ate a lot of cookies, breads, and sweets today.
Despite the difficulties of this past year, I can still find things to be grateful for (in no particular order of importance):
* The love of family and friends.
* The discovery and getting to know biological relatives.
* And after hearing some of the stories, I am beyond grateful I was put up for adoption as an infant. I have no idea who my birthmother was or what her family was like, but my birthfather, some of his siblings, and my maternal grandfather are people I think I'm glad I didn't ever have to know. On the other hand, the half-siblings I've met so far and the cousins I've talked to, see to be okay people. And that's a good thing.
* My daughter getting off the ECT treatments even though they didn't help and she's still struggling with her inner demons. Sometimes, now, she laughs with true joy and smiles with pleasure.
* I'm so grateful my son is recuperating from being sick with Covid the past couple of weeks, even if he didn't tell me until he was almost ready to go to the doctor for the follow-up visit that would, if he was okay, allow him to go back to work. He got that clearance, but he's still exhausted and wants to sleep 12-16 or more hours a day. Needless to say, he didn't come home for Thanksgiving today. I'm grateful for that as well. I'd rather he'd stay home and rest instead of risking exhaustion on the freeway. My daughter said that, even if he's been cleared, the way her luck has been running, he'd have one viable, infectious, virus cell left in his body and it would find her. She's probably right.
* I have a job. And it pays fairly well. And I only have 1496 days until my hoped for retirement. But who's counting.
* I'm grateful for all of you. Your progress, or your rare lapses followed by your inevitable recovery and progress again, is so inspirational. One day, I may have more 3 yes days than pass days. This is not that month, but I'm still here and I'm going to stick it out. So... Thank you for the positive role models that each and every one of you are.
Night all!5
