I'm down 0.8 pounds this week. It was a mixed, but overall better, week for me. On the plus side, I did not have any alcohol all week (well, M-Th, at least). On the down side, I did have more evening snacks than I had planned for. Nevertheless, I feel like this was a week with a good initial direction, and I will work to build on this semi-success.

Down 1 lb. At least it's a start. Got a long way to go but 1 week at a time 1 day at a time 1 meal at a time.2

I missed the official “yo” last week. 😉
I appear to be in touch with my inner Deadhead, because I can’t help thinking “What a long strange trip it's been” on the slog back to my goal weight. Certainly as Class of ‘77 for college, I’m entitled to that reminiscence. Why is it appropriate here?

It’s a little less weird than it seems. The first period includes four days in Texas for a funeral. The second is recovery, and good choices at Thanksgiving. The third is a week of foolish choices. The fourth is the course correction from that. I’ll admit, I was fine with the 8.2 pounds over those four days. As I said last week, the 12/2 result was both earned and embarrassing. The 12/9 is some rebound from those decisions, but also reflective of the fact I can make good decisions.
So between now and the end of the year, my intention is to lose another two pounds. That will let me average two pounds per month of loss for the year, which is sort of my current baseline.
