So for tomorrow's post I am going to use the famous goblet full of marbles story... stand by. (I hate that in order to bookmark a post you have to open it now)
this is the teaser.8 -
Sometimes we all just need a reminder that even though we may have stumbled, we haven't fallen. For a long time now I have used goblets and marbles to represent and remind myself of this.
It is funny but we always seem to beat ourselves up for the failures when you could also look at the bigger picture of success staring you in the face. Apparently my cat thinks the failures are a lot more interesting too.
So for today’s topic. Let's enjoy Saturday and pat ourselves on the back for being here. Pass day or not.10 -

I love the goblet idea. I have used mini origami stars and a little kilner jar to measure small triumphs.
I celebrate the achievements of the Saturday crowd 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Well done to those who are staying on track during December. This month is challenging to say the least!
I’m out of the running but will check in. I’ve already out on 3 lbs and I don’t want to put on any more! I was in such a groove before and now I’m struggling. I remember thinking a few weeks ago when I was still in my groove… I’ll have to remember how this feels as it’s so easy to just listen to what my body needs. Everything is balancing out. How did I not do this sooner. It wasn’t perfect but it was easy and the weight was moving in the right direction. Blah blah blah.
I need to recalibrate. I need to slow down.5 -
I love your goblet habit. I’m doing something this month that is similar but different. I really love “Essentrics” workouts. They’re a little but tai chi, a little bit Pilates, and I feel incredible after each one. I credit these workouts with my range of motion and energy level. However, I often just don’t make them a priority and will go all month completing only 2 or 3 23 minute workouts. So…. I love doing jigsaw puzzles so I found an online puzzle, set it to 360 pieces, and after every workout, allow myself one puzzle piece for every minute of the workout. The goal is to have the puzzle done by the end of the month.
I had a good day today, have 3 yeses and have no intention of messing that up. My husband and I were invited to my ex-husbands family Chrismas party. Yep, you read that right. My ex refused to attend because he doesn’t like his sister. So….my ex in-laws told my kids “we want to see your mom and meet Hank!” And so we went and had a blast. I have maintained a good relationship with my ex MIL and see her a few times every year at birthday parties. But it had been a couple years since I’d seen everyone else. It was a great day.

Pass day #2
I survived the four mile race! I just approached it as another run and not a race. Not very fast (38min and change) but my IT band is happy and nothing else hurts (yet). I think I’m ready to get back to normal runs next week. Hooray! The only pic of me I’ve seen is just terrible. My one best friend described it as looking like my face was melting, and the other agreed it was horrible. My husband, however, said it wasn’t that bad and it looked like me, so he might not survive. TBD. 😑
Food was nonsense today but it’s all logged.
My two ugly Christmas dresses from Amazon arrived today! Hooray! The hope is that will help keep my spirits up when at my in-laws for Christmas since my husbands family tends to kill holiday joy. Lol.8 -

Today is a pass day. Bit of a crap day in just too many ways, and setting up for rough days ahead too. Goals on the back burner today. That's about all to say about it. Not much of it I can control either. These things always pass, and that can just hurry right the *kitten* up.7

Worked hard today did some riding strength and flex booster covid on Monday hope it doesn’t put me down it’s Moderna ☹️4

Wow, fantastic! Under 10 minute miles IS fast! Congrats!!2 -
Exercise - walk 1 hour
Under calorie budget (1650)? Yes 1561
Tracked everything I ate and drank? Yes

Exercise: Went for a nice 4 mile walk outside today!
Tracking: I went out to dinner to a Chinese restaurant tonight, so the tracking is a very rough estimate at best.
Calories: I estimated very high on my dinner ( I believe), and it still put me well under since I had a light breakfast and no lunch or snacks.
@SummerSkier Your topic is timely. I was feeling really down about my epic binge last night; I saw it as throwing away 8 months of fortitude, rather than simply one bad day out of the past 250. I reset though and decided that instead of dwelling on the misstep, I am going to be proud of myself for getting right back on course.6 -
@taurie
My guess is it’s related to your sodium intake. It makes weight pop on fast & (at least for me) increases my mouth hunger.
Slowing down is always a good idea!4 -
Congrats @mshawski
Honestly, out of many dozens of events, with one to several photos at each, I only ever had one single photo that I found acceptable enough to share. Even when I saw the cameras ahead and tried to run and look strong, the photo always looked like I was miserable in some way! The one that was decent was a finish line photo where I was no more or less exhausted than at any other event, it just happened to not look hideous.
Awesome job today on the run!4 -

I look like I have a moustache, 6 chins, and this weird band of fat running horizontally across my thighs. I have no idea how it was physically possible for me to look like that but hey - props to the photographer 😂🤦🏻♀️8 -

Thanks @SummerSkier for the post - I've always loved the goblet idea!
@mshawski Maryann I love the dresses! Cute!
I'm up 3 lbs this week as well. I know December is difficult... but (for me) the key is to not give up... to buckle down NOW and keep working towards my goal... no matter what. 3 lbs is easier to take off than 30 lbs.7 -
* 30 min jog & walk
* No Meditation and journaling
* Didn't monitor sugars
* Over on calories
* Didnt track every Blt
1st pass and I'm actually going to say it was a bit of a binge. I hvent had a binge since the 28th of May so hve done really well seeing back in the day I use to binge daily. We were given chocolate for Xmas so one night time peice turned into 6 pieces then I thought I'm going to make today a pass so hubby and I ate chips then finished off with ice cream. Did it feel and taste amazing at the time hell yes!! Was it great to not hve to worry about calorie counting hell yes!!! I'm I regretting it now seeing its 2pm the next day and I still hve a belly ache. Hell yes!!! Lol!!! Hubby ate exactly the same food as me but as always he has iron guys so no tummy pain at all wen he over eats. Hubby always says he believes it's the main reason why I'm so careful with my food cos it causes havoc on my tummy. He says it's a good thing lol. I think he's right as it does make me think twice before over eating. Xox

Thanks for the opening post today @summerskier. I really like this idea and am thinking about how I could use it to visually portray my successes. I love your jigsaw game concept @biketheworld and am thinking about this too. 🧩🧩🧩
Tracking - everything
Calories - all good!
Exercise - 26 minutes on the treadmill
Not feeling well. Saw my GP on Friday who confirmed bronchitis and a sinus infection. Have probably let this go on too long but on antibiotics now. Follow up visit scheduled for next Friday with more bloodwork. Got my 20+ minutes in through two separate sessions on the treadmill.
Watching my fourth holiday movie right now and have spent the day drinking warm tea, diet ginger ale, spicy chicken vegetable wonton soup (homemade), eating oranges, and we had some turkey chili from the freezer for dinner. All aimed to clear my sinuses!
Pass days taken = 0
Take care everyone.

5k went well. It rained during warm-up but during the race itself it was just sprinkling and no wind to speak of. After I crossed the finish line the rain really picked up and even more so as we waited for the awards ceremony. But it was worth the wait, both my running partner (he's 78 years old, such an inspiration!) and I won FIRST PLACE in our age groups! There were 13 in my age group, females 60-64, most of them were walkers. I was surprised my time of 30:50 put me in first. I'm guessing the speedy women who normally run this race either were doing the 10K or decided not to bother because of the weather or because you had to show your vax card!
Glad your race went well @mshawski! I haven't looked yet to see if there were any photos taken of me during the race. Sometimes a nice photo is taken of me, but ugh, sometimes it catches me looking absolutely hideous!
