    I survived the four mile race! I just approached it as another run and not a race. Not very fast (38min and change) but my IT band is happy and nothing else hurts (yet).     My guess is it’s related to your sodium intake. It makes weight pop on fast & (at least for me) increases my mouth hunger.

    Slowing down is always a good idea!

    Honestly, out of many dozens of events, with one to several photos at each, I only ever had one single photo that I found acceptable enough to share. Even when I saw the cameras ahead and tried to run and look strong, the photo always looked like I was miserable in some way! The one that was decent was a finish line photo where I was no more or less exhausted than at any other event, it just happened to not look hideous.
