Today was a struggle so your advice is timely @bradkcrew. I couldnβt exercise and began to wonder whether continuing logging made sense. Exercise is, as @SummerSkier described a few days back, an integral part of what Iβve been doing. But if I canβt do everything I can still do something.
OH NO!!! I am sorry to hear this. I told you not to let ROVER pull on you in the snow.... Hopefully you can find some gentle workouts which do not involve ribs (or breathing... LOL)1 -

I can relate to what @calvin20874 said about not having to deal with office goodies this year. In my case itβs because Iβm recently retired. Iβve been thinking that the fact that Iβm home and not at work is exactly why Iβm losing weight in December. The cakes and cookies and breads that pilots would bring in as gifts - they just piled up constantly! Itβs really nice not being tempted with it constantly.
Another 3 yes day
Pass days - 2/3

@calvin20874 good idea, I am lucky I am not in office much this year but when I am there itβs like everyoneβs elseβs office full of stuff I try hard to leave it alone itβs usually candy that gets me! Sometimes I look at that cookie especially if I donβt know who made it and think about how dirty the microwave is at work and I can leave it alone ! Gross description but thatβs why I have a thermos for my heated food now, anyone else have that office problem ? I solved my problem I donβt use the microwave anymore so I donβt clean it anymore!!
We have a small neighborhood and are selective who is on our share list for other reasons, but when our family shares its pretty healthy and usually mini breads and smaller size cookies so there is not so much sugar overload.6 -
Random side note to follow up on something I'm not even sure I posted here? But you know, I find it interesting so here we are and it ties into something I know we discussed one day here. LOL. As I may or may not have mentioned - my apple watch was having my heart rate at an average of 180-190 during runs, sometimes hitting 200+. I'm over here waiting for the rheumatologist apt I finally have on the 27th like well poop, is this something I need to add to the list of worries? Per a suggestion from @SummerSkier (which is why I'm thinking I posted it here? My brain is a puddle.) I got a polar chest strap to compare. Every run the chest strap shows me at 30-40 beats per minute under what my watch says. Per the chest strap my average heart rate is in the 140s for the 3 mile runs I've been doing, with a high of 158 (vs my apple watch having a regular average of 185 and a high as high as 203). So... while that was nice to see from a heart health perspective, I'm also over here like... ok cool so how far off have my exercise calories been for the last two years and perhaps thats part of the reason I've been so stuck since I was eating them back until a few days ago? Feeling even better about the decision to raise my calories everyday and just not eat the exercise ones back.
I still have to test to see it it's off on all workouts by wearing it to the gym, or if it's just runs it goes crazy on. Maybe I need to be one of those cool peeps with two watches. My apple watch for connectivity and a polar one for workouts. I can't look at my phone while I'm working out, far too cumbersome.6 -

Ate ~50 of my exercise calories today in extra protein (yes, I went OVER my protein macro today). All clean eating; just extra hungry. I figure the extra protein saved me from eating chippies which I was craving otherwise.
Exercise was 30 minutes in addition to meeting my step goal. Time to increase that goal again.
Update posted December 21 AM for my accountability:
December 20 - became pass day #2
Stayed up far too late watching a series we are enjoying and felt the need for very early breakfast before heading to bed. Genuinely hungry (tested for thirst, boredom, etc) and I know how tuning this out ends. All healthy choices, but over on calories by end of βdayβ. Considered moving the food entries to December 21 (as technically it was) but that just sets me up badly for the next day.

Thanks, Today Iβm primarily focused on getting things to calm down. As Iβm doing that I see the forecast is for 60β of snow in the mountains over the next 10 days. Missing that is as painful as the ribs. Thatβs life!4 -

Todays EPIC was an excellent workout. Our cat is not happy when I do EPIC. She doesn't like the music and hides but sometimes she'll come back out (though not getting too close) and stare at me for a several minutes. I think she is wondering what on earth I'm doing.
Bless her!!! Very sweet. Xo1 -

@mshawski, wow, that IS a high heart rate so no wonder you were concerned. I don't have an Apple watch, I have a Garmin, but I was curious if maybe others have experienced the same issue as you. It appears the answer is yes. https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7828286 Most likely the sensor is defective. Perhaps it is something Apple would fix free of charge or would replace watch? It might be worth it to inquire? Regarding calorie difference, I had never thought about that heart rate plays a role in how many calories are burned during a run. I hope your appointment went well.1

I just saw a post by @mshawski and @seilidhe β both of who I was just wondering about. I was glad to see you both. Also thinking of @Jana_2020 and hoping she is keeping well.
I am going to stop closing out my diary too. The messages it gives cause me to spin out some days.
Be kind to yourselves.
Julie
@jamcnewman Thanks for the kind thoughts Julie!
