I just started metformin a couple of days ago. I need to know what and how to eat, so that I can eat. The med is making me feel pretty sick and not wanting to eat.

Hi k9hrd,
Are you able to go see a Diabetes Educator and Dietitian? Other wise do searches for Low Glycemic Index foods. Here's a start: http://www.glycemicindex.com/
I am not medicated, but see what your GP thinks about the nausea - or that may be sorted now?
I was diagnosed Type 2 17.1.2014, I am also a Registered Nurse and Midwife with a strong interest in Diabetes as I have a strong family history on my Fathers' side. I have lost 13kg since I found out about my diabetes.
I just joined this group.
I hope that helps.0 -
