For many of us, our favorite day of the month (in the UAC) is the 15th... when we share and celebrate our NSV's (Non-scale victories!)
We should all be proud of our Non-Scale Victories, and celebrate each other and all the wonderful changes that are happening on our weight loss/healthy lifestyle journey. Often, sharing and reading each other's NSV's can help to give us the encouragement and energy to "keep on going!"
Keep up the good work, and don’t let the scale dictate the way you feel about yourself! Remember, change in your health and in your body doesn’t boil down to a number on the scale – you are much more than that!
Rather than worrying about the number on the scale, pay attention to how your body is changing. Remember that not all progress can be seen on the scale. For example gaining muscle mass can increase your weight because muscle is more dense than fat but it takes up less space than fat.
What is something positive that you are experiencing?!5 -
This month, rather than me picking out one "best" NSV over any other.... I thought it might be fun for everyone to chime in and pick out their favorite! Please feel free to comment on each other's NSV's!4

I got some Peloton sports bras from the apparel shop for Christmas, and my NSV is that 1) they fit and 2) I feel comfortable enough in my own skin to wear them without a t-shirt over top when I ride.
Sure, it's in my own house, and there isn't a group of people gazing at me, but I feel good in my skin.16 -
Outside of plantar fasciitis bringing an end to running for the last 6 months (and even preventing walks for exercise for 3 months), a surgical procedure requiring no exercise for a few weeks, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years and associated holiday stress and indulgences, and even COVID now (mild symptoms for me but no strenuous exercise until my immune system settles down)...I
AM
STILL
GOING
In fact, I'm in perhaps my strongest starting position ever to "get back to it" as I am able. I am primed, ready, and much *kitten* shall be kicked this year!
EDIT: For anyone unaware, MFP changes "naughty" words to "kitten". No kittens shall be harmed.17 -
NSVs
- Backfilled the weight-tracking data into my fitbit app (it wouldn't let me go any farther back than Nov 7 when I started, but still, close to ~ 8 or 10 weeks right off the bat) and I have kept up the daily logging after I weigh in each morning
- Backfilled the TDEE tracker spreadsheet @SummerSkier provided us in Nov (or Dec?) and have continued to update it daily (shows from Nov 7 to current) .... now to figure out what the embedded formulas MEAN 😵 😸
- Created a 4-entry Habit Tracker spreadsheet, and am currently 14 for 14 on all items.
- Been keeping up on my Rep2the Rhythm core exercise each morning. I am ESPECIALLY proud of that consistency.

It's ironic I reached my goal weight today, here on NSV day. But the real victory is, to get here, through the holidays, through an injury recurrence that sidelined me from vigorous exercise and with the prospect of one more surgery (ribs) in a couple of weeks...I haven't quit. Oh yeah...all my old jeans fit too :-).
Thanks UAC friends for your inspiration and support! May you all become a little healthier every day.17 -

My NSV this month is that I've already lost the 3 lbs that I gained over the holidays... and my step-daughter is getting married in April and I'm having fun dress shopping for something nice to wear to her wedding!
@ashleycarole86 what a terrific NSV! It's great for your self confidence isn't it!? Kudos!
@WhatMeRunning You are so right! You've been through A LOT, but you remind me of the energizer bunny.... you just keep going. Awesome job Chris!!
BeeJ @BMcC9 awesome job keeping up on your Rep2the Rhythm core exercise each morning. You're doing ah-mazing things!
@Arc2Arc Wow! You have several NSV's! Congrats on reaching your goal weight today! And yes, you've also had quite a bit going on these last couple months..... and yet you've stayed consistent through it all, and didn't give up! Kudos to you as well! (And a nice bonus that all your old jeans fit too!!) Woohoo!
HUGE CONGRATS @victorious55 on 1000 days! That's quite an achievement!!!!
Terri @TerriRichardson112 you are always so consistent!! What an inspiration you are! Big Congrats on your many NSV's this month as well!9 -

Today seemed a bit calmer now after the flurry of activities required to now be forced to do nothing. 🤪
On the one hand, being locked in with all of my ready food supplies will make sticking to meal plans easier. Curiously though I decided to eat some of the pizza we had delivered for the wife and kids (no contact). It was a nice change and was actually able to fit into my dinner allowance rather well (could have had a better fiber:sugars ratio but not terrible either).
My wife is laid out pretty well from this and that pizza was the first thing she's really been able to stomach since Wednesday, thus why we ordered it since she wasn't having any luck with other things. The rest of us only have mild symptoms (all 5 here have it).
For now I'm counting my stretches as exercise as that's all the more I feel comfortable doing until I feel clear again. My wife and I had COVID back in 2020 and there is no way in hell I want to push any limits, that was the worst I've ever felt in my life. My wife says her severity this time is all too reminiscent, and yes, she has vocally wished she would just die this time around, like we both did last time. I feel terrible for her.
Congrats on the amazing streak @victorious5514 -

bON had requested and has been patiently waiting for a photo of my cat, Kia, with the sun in her eyes. But she’s a cat. She’s lovable as hell but not always compliant.
So the NSV here is actually getting one this afternoon.
@victorious55 congrats on 1,000! Really impressive.
@ashleycarole86 thank you and congrats on your progress!
@WhatMeRunning love your attitude in the face of adversity! That's a winning attitude.
@Mrs_Hoffer good luck with the wedding. And thank you!
@BMcC9 I'm following along with your TDEE. I admire your dedication!10 -
Yes, yes, yes

My NSV victory is that I was able to hold a plank for over a minute this morning. I liked reading @ForLangston NSV of sleeping better and longer as I realized I'm starting to get a solid 8 hours most nights as well. That's a huge change for me.9 -
