30 minute upper body workout and 45 minute treadmill.

Shelley I can see the face on the Versa 2 only sometimes when it raise my arm up at certain angles. Weird but I still live my Versa 2.

7.35 miles in 136 mins this afternoon. Went to the post office and then around the school then around the block! :D The post office and back is only 5 miles...had to see if I could get 7 miles. Done and done.
    Now I'm gonna read.

Chris, Did you get the wind yesterday? The way tit was gusting here, nobody needed to walk anywhere, The wind would've just scooted them along.

Resting. A few months now. Agh.

Yes, Paula, the wind was fierce here yesterday. The palm tree in the neighbor's yard out back was leaning waaay over! Good thing I had an appt w/my trainer, otherwise I would have chickened out of my walk!! Today was great! Beautiful!

In NYC for an overnight. We went to see Hamilton (which was just amazing.) Bella has been obsessed for for time. I love it too. Walked a lot? Which is a bonus of being in the city. Felt good to get away for a spell.

I’m so jealous. That’s what I wanted to see when we went to NYC. Saw “Ain't to Proud”instead and it was great. I’ve seen Hamilton on HBO Max at least 10 times. Tell Bella I’m totally obsessed as well. Happy for you both.

7.25 miles in 132 mins this afternoon. It was beautiful out there. Went down the rocky road that's not a rocky road any more since they are building a zillion homes and leveled everything. Sad...sigh. Then went to Laural Park and circled it four times for two miles then came back the canal. It was a good walk.
We had Ronan for a few hours this afternoon. He is a riot! Love him so much!

Early morning (7:00) workout: Total body strength training - 40 minutes and treadmill - 60 minutes. Good workout!

The soup sounds wonderful Chris. Going to look up the recipe. I’m going to make Chili tomorrow.

Find an easy one Kathy. I used roasted chicken breasts from the grocery store instead of using raw chicken. Made it easier.
60 min workout w/my trainer. Hard!!

Chris I love all your soup recipes. And 7 miles in the wind is knocking it out of the galaxy.

Kathy I want to join a gym soon. Rocky and his friend did. Just no time for me yet. How are your parents doing?

Paula you would love our wind. Make you feel right at home. :D

Karen have loads of fun. Sounds wonderful!

In trial all week. Judge had us call a city officer to go fetch a tardy juror. She was sleeping. And also rather rude. Judge set her straight. I would not want a judge Mad at me! Nopey nope

Hello everyone. I just joined this group and have been reading through the posts to catch up. I just started my weight loss journey (again) on January 1st and as of today I’m 10 lbs down. I know the first month always shows more weight loss as your body loses water weight and adjusts to the new norms, but I’m pretty happy with my first 10 lb loss.

I don’t have too many issues with the foods I eat or the calories I consume. Every now and then I’ll get a craving for something bad but for the most part I’ve been doing pretty good managing food. It is the exercise I have trouble with.

Ready to hear my excuses now? I have severe arthritis in my knees and a partially torn rotator cuff. The doctors tell me not to climb stairs or do anything that puts pressure on my knees like squatting or lunges. My shoulder isn’t torn enough for surgery but is too torn for PT to work apparently so the doctors say “just take it easy”. Well… I used to be a kickboxer and I’m the kind of person that when I start something (like working out) I want to do my best and be the best. Lift more, walk longer, beat my own records kinda gal. But for the last couple years I just feel like any exercise I attempt defeats me. I know I’ll feel better when I have more of this weight off, but exercising to help get it off is becoming a major challenge. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the group dkr529. What has worked for our small group is consistency and a never give up attitude. Have you tried just light walking or how about water aerobics which is low impact and easy on the joints.

Hello, Kathy. I have been walking at least a mile almost daily barring inclement weather. I haven’t bit the bullet and got a new gym membership yet to do any sort of indoor treadmill walking. I also have not tried water aerobics. I’m not sure there is anywhere in my area that does that but I will check into it! Thanks for the support and feedback.

Thanks, Chris! When I was going to the gym consistently a few years ago I loved working with weights, but I know I need to focus on cardio or core strengthening exercises, which has been my nemesis recently. I have dumbbells of varying sizes at home and room to do some indoor cardio exercises if my knees will let me. I appreciate the support!

Kathy - I hope you get to see Hamilton soon. It was just so amazing. My kiddo c6yphxk9qadh.jpg

It's been so busy and crazy. I did go on the elliptical for 20 minutes. Hope to get back to it but that never happened. 20 minutes is better than nothing right?

Upper body strength training - 30 minutes and 40 minutes - Treadmill.

I have a small blister on my right foot near my bunion. I hope it doesn’t effect my workout tomorrow. Going to have to pick the right shoes in the morning.

Shelley, I was so mad I finally ordered a pair of the Hokas. Hope to have them soon.

Got 6.36 miles done in 111 mins this afternoon. Time to change up my shoes. I thought my two little toes on my right foot were going to just fall off when I took off my shoes. They were jammed to the side the entire walk. New shoes!!! New shoes!!! :D

Kathy - How do you like the Hokas sneakers? I usually buy Brooks because I have a very high arch. But I can't seem to find them in wide right now. Inventory levels are so darn low. Curious about your experience. Maybe I ought to try them :)

Karen I haven’t received them yet. Hope to have them this week. Shelley told me about them last year and I kept putting off ordering them because of the price. She raves about them. Also a nurse at the hospital had them on. I asked her and she said she doesn’t wear anything else to work. I will give you my review hopefully next week. Check out their website.

Shelley please add your comments about Hokas for Karen.

Y’all are killing it! Good job! I walked 1.3 miles this morning before work and was proud of that accomplishment since it’s a little farther than I normally walk in the mornings. I’m going to shoot for another mile after work if the weather holds out.
