Maddie's post from yesterday fits right in with my planned idea for Today's Opener ...
Whatever Identity you wish to reinforce, and whatever action you plan to make a habit as a way to express it ....
"Take time to do what makes your soul happy"
By necessity, because it is the focus and reason-for-being of this group, we end up talking a great deal about our relations with food, with exercise, and with logging / reporting.
These are what are called "keystone habits". Once embedded and integrated into "just what I do" (like brushing teeth and wearing clothes), they are the bedrock support structure of all the other remaining elements of Your "Sustainable Best-Life" vision.
So, what makes YOUR soul happy? playing with a spreadsheet? making a toddler giggle? your garden? your choir practice?
No wrong answers, and every one of them will be VERY RIGHT for the person who posted it!

Went out in the pouring rain this morning for a bike ride with my grandson. We got soaked to the skin! Also did some cardio work, not yet reached my goal of 12,000 steps but I am over 10,000.
What makes my soul happy?
My soul has taken a bit of a beating over the last couple of years, and this week marks the anniversary of the last few days I spent with my son last year.
Spending time with family – especially the grandchildren – are the happiest times. I am seeing quite a bit of my daughter and her children now but my DIL is away in the States for a few months. I miss them.

I pre-planned, prepped, and pre-logged my meals and super bowl snacks for today 😋 as well as for my breakfasts and lunches this week at work (since I have to get up at 4:30am!) If I go to work without a "plan" then I'll eat whatever they have in the cafeteria.... and that usually proves to be disastrous!
Tonight I'm at my junk food pushing friend's house for the super bowl, but I brought my dinner and keto snacks, including chocolate cake!
😊

Exercise: Yes, Sydney Cummings Focus Day 3 (legs); a short walk; a bit of yoga but my dog was eagerly licking my face during downward dog and plank. Not sure what's better for my happiness, the doggie kisses or the down dog

Yes x3. Spent the afternoon at a winter festival put on by the city. We met some friends and the kids had a blast. Connecting with my creator and community is a huge part of what makes my soul happy. And creativity - I am a painter and sewer and maker of many things.6

yet another pass day
I'll likely be taking pass days for the rest of the month. I'm eating within calories for the most part but I have no time for logging and exercise is sporadic. In spite of that I'm getting 10,000+ steps most days even without formal exercise due to current activity level. Normally I get less than 10,000 even with formal exercise.
I've thought about bailing for feb and starting back up on march 1st as I'll be traveling again 20-28 feb. But, I prefer to attempt to make UAC goals and keep them in mind.

Truly, making everyone and everything around me happy is what makes my soul happy. I know I can contribute and do all I can. That also requires making sure I'm able to help make that happen, which requires taking care of myself. That was the hardest lesson to learn, and sometimes the hardest thing to keep on top of.4 -
✔︎ 20+ mins exercise (1hr5min morning walk, 1hr31min evening walk; I AM a walker! >20k steps today [and >32k steps yesterday!] and it feels wonderful to make time for enjoyable movement each day)
✔︎ Within calorie budget (yes - even with date night!)
✔︎ Log everything
Consistency Tracking (🔥=3 ✔︎'s, 🏴☠️=pass): 🔥-🔥-🔥-🔥-🏴☠️-🔥-🔥-🔥-🔥-🔥-🔥-🔥-🔥
Passes used = 1 / 3
Other habits I’m tracking this month:
✔︎ Morning meditation📿-📿-📿-✘-📿-✘-✘-📿-📿-📿-📿-📿-📿 (The more I make time first thing in the morning for meditation, the more I want to and look forward to that moment to pause and calibrate for the day ahead. So exciting to see/feel this habit take root!)
✔︎ Drink >64oz water💧-💧-💧-💧-✘-💧-💧-💧-💧-💧-💧-💧-💧 (96oz! learning to spread out my ounces throughout the day and just reach for water whenever I feel a slight twinge of thirst... long walks also promote better hydration for sure)3 -
YYY all week. Just been swamped at work and life. But maintaining UAC well Hi, everyone! Hope you all are doing well.5
