I struggle with snacking the evening, after dinner. I don't think it's a bad thing - necessarily; but it needs to be done smartly and should be planned. I don't think there's anything new in this article, but sometimes it is good to be reminded of things.

It is hard to control eating habits especially snacking at night. If it is a planned snack so be it, that's ok. Unmeasured unplanned snacking? Not so good. For some stopping at a certain hour helps.I don't eat crackers in bed so the timing isn't so important as the planning.

I'm a "betweener". I snack after lunch, and after dinner. Even if I plan, lately I start on other stuff. I do log it, and, usually, am under SPs and Calories. It's just that sometimes I can't seem to find the "off switch". Most of my snacks are "good" foods, but.....

I don’t struggle with snacking in the evening; in fact, I’d say I’d say I’m very good at it. 😉

Okay, that’s mostly tongue in cheek, but evening snacking is important to me. One of the most important weight management things for me psychologically is not feeling I’m depriving myself or being limited in my choices. I can live with a lot of hardship as long as it’s my choice rather than forced on me.

Because of that, I tend to conserve my WW points at breakfast and lunch - not light on food, but options low in points. I’ll have a medium dinner, and most of the time I’m eating 1/3 to 1/2 my daily points in evening snacks. They're not planned, but I choose to accept a boundary somewhere in what WW considers the healthy eating range for daily intake. What I feel like having is what I have in the evening, subject to that boundary.

I’m sure this is not recommended, but it’s what works for me. And it may happen differently on different day, such as today when lunch was a burger. Just means different choices.
