I am FAR from an expert, but I believe that that big initial results are very common for most of us. It was for me. As I understand it, when we first go on Keto the body will shed a lot of water it's been retaining, and that can only last so long.

Hopefully some of our more knowledgeable folks can pitch in their feedback as well. But - I will say the main suggestions I've always gotten is to be sure to stick to 20 grams of NET Carbs or less a day, and consider using a macro tracker. I use Carb Manager. You can use free or Premium version, which has tons of recipes and other features. It's much less expensive than some other apps, if you choose to go that route. It's better than MFP's, in my opinion.

Also, when and how often you weigh yourself is a very personal thing. Some folks do it every day, and it sounds like you do so once a week. I only weigh in about once a month - every four or five weeks. That way I give my body time to make adjustments that happen, and if I did so once a week I might be disappointed in the results, which would carry me until the next weigh-in (and possibly food choices I would make).

Again, I am in no way a Keto expert. But I did start in early Sept 2020, and as of the last time I weighed myself two weeks ago, I have lost 103 lbs. Some months I'd lose 3-6 pounds, and once or twice only lost 1-2 lbs. You'll hear folks say 'it's a marathon, not a race', and that's very true. I never actually believed I would have the success I have, and I am only about 12 lbs. from the goal weight I set for myself when I started this.

I am not big on giving actual 'advise', because everyone's situations are so different, but I will give you this one tidbit - Give yourself and your body some GRACE. Even incremental or small loss is still loss. One day you will look at the loss and know that even though you have more to go, when you started you wished to be at least here.

    Best to you!

EDIT - Should also have mentioned that about three months ago I started walking in my neighborhood. I work from home and probably averaged 1500 - 1800 steps a day on a good day. So when I started at about .3 mile (approx 0.48 km, according to Bing). I gradually increased, and now am at 2 miles (approx 3.22 km). I think that helps a lot, and I NEVER thought I would ever try to do anything like that at the start of all this.

    Exactly, progress is progress.

I gained a pound this week. Why?!?! Dunno. It does this sometimes. I was perfect. Scale wasn't. But my thighs are def slimmer in places. So KCKO.

The body needs to reshuffle things here and there. And when it does that, it sometimes holds onto water. That's the only way my body does things. Annoying af. I know what happens next. The scale will hang onto that pound for awhile, maybe even go up another half. Gain and lose the same pound for a couple weeks. Then just as inexplicably, I'll whoosh and lose all that plus extra over 3 or 4 days. Then rinse and repeat.

So... keep your nose to the grindstone and eye any NSVs like better fitting clothes and increased energy or stamina, and KCKO. The scale may hold out, but if you are on-plan and keeping a deficit, it has no choice but to eventually succumb to your efforts. KCKO.

    You def have this.

Right, baconslave. I feel more agile and in a slightly better shape. Just the weight isn’t going down. I should reduce the frequency of checking weights to stay motivated. 😁
