Before/After

I started my Keto journey on August 26th, 2021. I weighed approximately 214 pounds. I say approximately because my scale was a dial one instead of a digital one and I could barely see the lines. Plus I think it was a few pounds off.

Fast forward to today. 167.8 pounds! I know I will be going up and down at least for the next several days, but I was at my lowest in years this morning! I hated taken photos of myself before. Now I take photos all the time because I can't believe that is really me!

I still have a tummy, and loose skin on my upper arms and upper thighs and butt. I will probably always have that. I'm 58 and our skin doesn't bounce back as quickly anymore. But they are my badges of honor. That I set out to accomplish something healthiest and am almost there! My goal is to get down to 150 and settle in that area for a bit. Then maybe move on if I'm up for it.

Besides the obvious weight loss, I've lost 7 in from my waist, 7 in from hips, 4 in from upper arms, 3 in from my thighs and 2 in from my calves. But most exciting of all, my blood pressure dropped from hypertension stage 1 to normal and my A1c went from 7.2 to 5.3.

I just had to toot my own horn! Anybody else care to share their successes? I'd love to read them!

    AMAZING! Congrats!!!

Hang in there on the skin. When I lost my weight (before I regained weight from covid quarantine) my loose skin was still slowly improving over a year later. So while age does make this nonsense harder, there may still be some improvement over time.

I hate my skin still but it's better and I'd still rather be looking like an elephant in places than be heavy.

Thank you everyone! I'm hoping more people will post their successes. It helps everyone to know that eventually they will get to where they are more comfortable with their bodies and will be more inclined to stick to it. We all know how hard it is when you see that number on the scale go up or stay the same day after day. I have so many jagged teeth in my report graph. So many ups. I weigh daily, so I know the heartache when I saw that number go back up. But then I look at my graph and see the downward trend. It's a bit cathartic.

Congratulations! I started a few months before you and had over 30 lbs. more than you, but our stories are very close! Just about the same age, loose skin issues, and although I don't enjoy it, I know it's a result of the success I've had. I'm only about 12 lbs. from my goal weight (also at 150).

One big difference is I only weigh myself every 4-5 weeks. Daily would be too hard for me, because I'd get very discouraged. But everyone's different, so good for you if that suits your needs. :)
