I like bread - all kinds of bread. The challenge is that most bread is fairly high in points, calories, or other stuff we’re all trying to minimize. Still, I dream . . .

So I tried a loaf of low-carb whole wheat bread from a bakery in Maine called “When Pigs Fly”. It’s normal thickness, but not tall. Each slice is one WW point and 70 calories, and it’s good enough to eat a slice as a snack. It’s got a nutty taste, a nice coarse texture, and it’s very dense. The only downside (as with all their breads) is that because it’s minimally processed and has no preservatives, it’s doesn’t keep long.

I like something sweet after dinner, but the usual suspects are off the table unless we go out to eat. I bought a ZOKU Quick Popsicle maker and make a fruit-juice popsicle, usually OJ, Grape Juice or Apple Cider. 2 oz of juice adds a negligible amount to my calorie count and helps satisfy my need for a dessert.

I bought the Trader Joe's High Fiber bread, which is only 90 calories/slice
and packed full of nutrients. It is now my preferred bread for everyday use.
