Happy Monday! Happy Pi Day! Today is also my son's 37th Birthday. This is my first time contributing to UAC. I enjoy learning from everyone.
The Wheel of Life is today's Topic
There are 8 sections and I have also seen 10 sections
1. Family & Friends
2. Health
3. Physical environment
4. Significant other
5. Career
6. Money/Finances
7. Fun and Recreation
8. Personal Growth
9. Contribution/Volunteer
10. Spirituality
We pour a little bit of water from our cup into each #lifebuckets to make a smooth road, one that paves our life path. The first step in in finding your balance is to take an objective view of your life.
Once you’ve chosen the components, you’re going to go through the wheel and rate each category based on where you are today on a scale of 1-10. How satisfied are you with each area? Where do you feel you’re at? Assign it a number, and then color in the pie piece up to the level. Once the wheel is colored in, you’ll get a very clear idea of where you are and how each piece stacks up against the other.
I like this goal setting tool because it helps you visualize your problem areas. If work is a three and everything else is at an eight, then you know your career needs improvement and focus.
The Wheel of Life tool helps bring you clarity. You’ll destress your life by eliminating activities that aren’t moving you toward what you want. You may find your career is fully filled in but at the expense of your friendships. Think about what you could do to shift your schedule and make time for your social connections.
Why does this area need attention?
What steps could you take to bring your satisfaction up one level? Two? Use those steps to set your goal.
How will you break down the bigger goal into actionable steps?
What barriers could come up to achieving this and how could you address them ahead of time?
What are you willing to sacrifice to achieve the goal?
I will be doing mine later and posting it. Have a great day and great week.

@jmu1965 WOW! what a wonderful post this morning. Thank you.
My life (perhaps because I am in my 60's and nearing retirement age) is a lot more "contained" than the elements which are listed but it is always good to step back and assess where we are at least once a year or so and see what changes are needed and what goals or habits we need to work on.

Been off the rails a few days riding a sugar binge high! Jelly beans, brownies, gooey muffins, cheesecake, did I mention jelly beans?? lol
My brother makes maple syrup and recently gave me a fresh jar. I'm surprised I haven't been drinking that right outta the jar!
This too shall pass when I'm sick enough of my foolishness!!
Depression and addictive personality, story of my life.11 -

Thank you @jmu1965. It's been long I saw this wheel. It is a good reminder.

@Bill70sStrong and @Lessennan don't beat yourselves up. Sometimes that candy and junk food is pretty hard to pass up!! but I have faith in you both! If I can do it, so can YOU! (I had a pretty bad couple of binge days just a few days ago). No judgment here!7

The Wheel of Life: I have been using the 10 section version of this in my regular life review process over the last 40 odd years. Initially my scores in many sections were much lower. As an older person who has been working on self-improvement for many decades, they have improved immensely.
1. Family & Friends:
(10) I have a strong family ethic; I have a circle of supportive friends, with reciprocal concern for one another.
2. Health:
(9) One or two minor concerns which are being addressed, but otherwise in good health.
3. Physical environment:
(10) I am fortunate to have a comfortable home, in a pleasant suburb of a seaside town, with good access to both national and international transport links.
4. Significant other:
(10) In an equal, caring partnership with my dear husband of 56 years. (He does more housework than I do 😂
5. Career:
(9) Retired educationalist; volunteer group leader with international lifelong learning charity.
6. Money/Finances:
(10) Adequate independent means. Debt-free.
7. Fun and Recreation:
(10) I fully enjoy participating in a wide range of activities, both physical, spiritual, and intellectual.
8. Personal Growth:
(9) Mostly good; currently working on regular consolidation, and development of healthy habits.
9. Contribution/Volunteer:
(10) I have a strong social conscience and believe in paying my good fortune forward, hence my ongoing involvement in leading groups in lifelong learning.
10. Spirituality
(10) I have a positive ‘can do’ outlook on life, and have a good self image. Prayer and meditation are an integral part of my life.8 -
