I’ve been thinking about those questions since I read the post at breakfast this morning, but I still don’t have good answers to all of them.
What brought me joy was visiting with my daughter and grandchildren – spending time with them is precious.
What are my intentions for next week? I have an unusually busy week. I have a meeting on Tuesday afternoon with our U3A science group. I’m out for the day on Wednesday to Bath to the theatre (with dinner out in the evening). And during the week will be talking or messaging with others about the May Day Spring Fair where we have a stand promoting the U3A. We haven’t bounced back from the Covid lockdowns and need to attract new members. I have volunteered to help on the day (May 1st)
What have I learnt?
I have learnt too much about the dreadful things that are happening in Ukraine and the ability of some people to hurt and kill others. The news has been too awful to listen to over the last few weeks.
How am I feeling? I don’t dwell on it too much, but I’m still grieving for my son. Just over a year now since his funeral. Some days are better than others. It’s hard seeing families with daddies enjoying themselves over the holidays. There is a children’s playground just outside my house and I saw two daddies there today with small children.

Oh Lesley, that is tough. I suppose in some future time you will have joy from seeing his children grow up and the memories. I recall the entire period from diagnosis onward and am so proud of you for maintaining your weight thru all of that when many others would slip into chaos.

I was dreading fasting today but it was actually pretty easy. I think when I am stressed out at work, it changes my appetite. At least I know it's not the fasting. Trying Alternate Day Fasting for one week. I don't know what my plan is after Sunday.5 -

Still working on expanding my fitness activities and getting back to old favorites that I got too heavy to enjoy. First time back to playing raquetball with my husband at the Y since 2018. Starting slowly to avoid injury or excessive soreness. But it was fun! Fortunately the courts are usually available so we probably will take our raquets more often now when we go to workout.
