Hello and happy hump day ladies. First, I have to confess that I am not in a good mood this morning. Nothing really bad is going on, but I just feel cranky and discontent. Yesterday I got my hair cut and I have realized lately that I am over my current do, but don't know how I want to change it. I have made subtle differences to the same style for--it seems like years. And I just looked in the mirror this morning and did not like what I saw. I did not like the hair or the changes I'm seeing in my face.
Anyway, just confessing that I am not in a good space for the moment, but I know these down times do not last.
Sheesh, good for you for speaking up. I'm not the silent type myself and hubby says that sometimes I scare him to death.
Overall, things are okay with me. Yesterday, we had another house issue (cable on the garage door broke), which I hope is not the beginning of another group of costly repairs. The range, frig, water heater last month was enough! But tomorrow it's back to the implant specialist and hopefully he will say the bone graft is doing okay. And hubby is going out for town for a couple of days on business, so I will have some time alone, which I enjoy occasionally.
Lois, I have been sending you good, healing thoughts and I hope your back is doing much better.
Kelly, I've seen the pictures you've posted about the powerlines up your way. Winter just does not seem to want to go away this year. I hope that it has not caused you work stress on top of having to step in with the kids while their mom recovers. And I sure hope that you were not out of power at your home.
I just realized that it's time for me to get out the house to go meet my walking buddy. Here's my 7-day averages for last week.
Steps = 14,088
Stair = 12 flights
Kcals burned = 1,798 (again, close but no cigar--although I did meet my goal to burn 1,800 on 5 days.)
Goal for next week still TBD. Looking forward to hearing from everyone.

YIKES - well I had food later last night than normal (rice with thai yellow curry). Ah well...It says I jumped 1.7 pounds overnight. I'm not yet in the mindset to focus. I did get my new desk and monitors set up. Because of my back, I did need more of hubby's help that I would have normally needed. But between his help and ice packs, it got done. I saw the doc again yesterday and my movement is much improved. Still doing my morning stretches and the muscle relaxers at night have helped immensely.
I think I mentioned not wanting to be alone when hubby leaves again for tournament in July. Well, Rhea's family and I have booked hotel rooms in San Diego for the Thurs-Sun nights (son could only get off on Friday - so we'll head out Thurs night, stop in Yuma overnight and book on to San Diego Friday morning). Super excited. Now to decide if we just hang out at the beaches or go to museums, parks or Sea World. I'm hoping that will be my motivation to get moving again so we can run around a bit and enjoy ourselves.
Hubby and I are having allergy attacks (well most of our area is as well). We both have stuffy heads, runny noses and sore throat from drainage. We took Covid tests and we're still negative so we're going with allergies or the blessed common cold. We're both drinking pedialyte with immune support, airbornne, sudafed, zinc and D3.
Anyhow, I didn't attend our employee meeting this am as I didn't want to get anyone riled up. Tomorrow, I need to head into the office super early to pack it up, sanitize it and leave. Hoping to be in by 7 and out before 10am and back home. Then unload it here and figure out where to keep it all...eeek. Hubby will be home and will help me unload and I believe a co-worker may be able to help me load up as well.
Sarah - Awesome job!! Keep up the good work. I'm with you on a not so cheery mood, but we'll get through.
Kelly - I saw your pictures from the storms. YIKES but it looks like the teams are really doing a great job of getting everyone back on line pretty quickly. Very impressed. Hoping you're keeping up the great job of morning workouts.
Sheesh - can't wait to see your update. I'll jump back on later.0 -

Good grief.
Glad you had a reduction, Sarah . . congratulations! And your activity is really great. Sorry you're feeling negatively today. I get it, though. Some days . . .
Kelly, I didn't see the pics of the storm, but I hope better weather is on the way. Keep focusing on the shorts and swimsuit season to come, and keep up the great work.
Lois, glad you'll be doing a San Diego trip in July! It's fun to have something to look forward to, and you won't have to be home alone.
I managed to get a chair cardio workout done today (YouTube), and have my trainer tomorrow morning for a modified workout. I'm trying to hang in there. Unfortunately the scale is moving in the wrong direction.
Sorry to be brief tonight, but family zoom just finished, and I'm tired and ready for some downtime. I'll check back tomorrow.0 -
Just checking in. Hubby flew to Detroit on business and left the house about 6:30 a.m. I got up an hour later and could not find our little Bella. I looked everywhere--in every closet, under every bed, anywhere I could think of, and I called and shook the treat bag to no avail. Finally, I had to stop because I had 45 minutes to get dressed and to my implant specialist. I had to forego washing my hair and take what my great aunt coined a "polka dot bath." LOL It was a super quick appointment, and he said all looks well and he'll see me in two more weeks. I hoped when I got home that she would have appeared, but only her brother Teddy greeted me. He's such a good cat. Comes when he is called! I thought about just waiting (assuming she'd eventually get hungry or thirsty, but since I really needed to get her insulin shot in her, I took a flashlight and looked in every closet again. And lo and behold I found her in her kitty carrier in the basement closet where hubby keeps his fly-fishing gear and other sports stuff. Funny that she fights like a windmill when we try to get her in the carrier to take her to the vet, but today, she was curled up in it asleep. All I could think is that I sure hope all this anxiety burned some extra calories!
Sheesh, I know you want to get back down a few pounds, but I also know that you don't want that foot to not heal properly and put you down again in better weather. Surely we will all get some warm spring weather soon. And that reminds me about ordering shoes!
Hope everyone is having a good Thursday. My mood is a little better in spite of all the kitty drama.1 -
Ok. So this weekend my allergies turned into a dang sinus/respiratory infection. So on to antibiotics I went. Feeling much better. And the back is doing better. Only need ice 1-2/day. I wanted a snack and we had none..no bread, crackers or tortillas. I ordered groceries yesterday. So this week will be a "door dash light" week. Ordered a veggie tray and fruit bowl and bread and tortillas. From Costco I ordered....pre made meatloaf and enchilada casserole for dinners this week. I wasn't quite up too preparing meals. But I now have some healthy snacks and choices.
That is all.
