Bumping this topic so that people see it today (since I messed with Monday's - but today is not Monday!)
Good topic @Jana_2020 - I'm excited to hear what people have to say about it.0 -
@Jana_2020 - thanks for this reminder. I was just thinking about how much my morning routine has changed and whether it’s good, bad, or just different. I’m trying to set myself up for success each day without making unrealistic goals. I’ve been defining success lately as items checked off a list and need to start thinking in terms of success being kindness, compassion, sacrifice.6

Pass day today. Happy Mothers Day to all the mums6

So true @Jana_2020 .. what matters most is what we're doing routinely! Thanks for the reminder3

Happy Mother’s Day! @Jana_2020 thanks for the reminder and @biketheworld thanks for your insights as well. Contemplating our routines and rethinking our definitions of success is so crucial to managing our perspectives. Hopefully it’ll help us see and celebrate more small wins and opportunities for growth each day.3

Another sunny day for a bike ride and a walk.
@Jana_2020 That is so true – for all sorts of different situations and goals. The things we do every day, often without thinking because it has become a habit, make us.
I was never an “exerciser” when younger, but a made a conscious decision to incorporate more exercise about 25 years ago after a back injury left me in a lot of pain and with reduced mobility. Since then, I have become more active and almost enjoy the gym. I do enjoy other exercise. It changed my life and changed me.

All three done but found time to spend with my mom and dad this morning along my children this afternoon and some book reading.
Routine is incredibly important without it I may just wander around during the day doing who knows what and grazing on whatever. I have been more focused in my early morning routine lately and feel more relaxed and productive during the day.
Happy Moms Day to all I do hope you enjoyed4 -

That’s a pretty powerful opening statement!
I grew up without a mother. She died when I was young, and my father mostly left his 5 children to our own devices. We were never taught basic housekeeping and daily living habits. As an adult I was often embarrassed by my own actions.
It took real effort to develop daily habits that most people learned as children. Make you bed in the morning. Do the dishes after dinner and don’t leave them for a week in the sink. Fold your laundry and don’t just pull wrinkled clothes out of the basket when you need them. Take a bath and brush your teeth. You all know the drill.
Just like I had to work to develop those habits later in life, I am now trying to master the daily habits necessary to lose weight and eat a healthy diet for the rest of my life.
One by one I had to tackle the habits necessary for ‘adulting’ and make them part of my daily routine. Now I am doing the same with food and exercise. My introductory tag line says I am 68 going on 40, wondering what I will be when I grow up. @Jana_2020’s opening thought reinforces than I am still growing up.

It is true that our habits are so important. Right now I am reading James Cleary´s ¨Atomic Habits.¨ It is excellent. I am starting to notice my habits more and make a plan for habit change for a lifestyle that is healthier and more organized.
