Living the Lifestyle - Monday 5/9/22

We meet here to explore, share, celebrate and (sometimes) agonize over how we do (or don't) incorporate weight loss guidelines into our daily lives. "It's a lifestyle, not a diet" is easily and often said, but sometimes not so simply put into practice.

This is a thread for everyone. If you're new to GoaD, or to weight loss, your questions and comments are always welcome. If you're maintaining, or a long-term loser, your thoughts on the topic may be just what someone else needs to hear. If you're reading this, join in the discussion!

Each weekday, a new topic is offered up for discussion.

Monday - crewahl (Charlie)
Tuesday – Flintwinch (Tim)
Wednesday - misterhub (Greg)
Thursday -imastar2 (Derrick)
Friday - Wildcard

Today's Topic: Mother's Day

Did you and a significant someone(s) celebrate? How did it fit into your plan?

We do not have kids, and this year is the first year with no surviving mothers. Historically, we've taken my mother and my mother-in-law to dinner on Saturday (separately.) This year, we did takeout at home Sunday evening so we wouldn’t have to deal with the crush of people celebrating.

    No surviving mothers.

My kids are good about remembering their Mom. I wished her Happy Mothers Day, but there was no food involved beyond our regular meals.

Yup! That sums our day up.

Quiet day. After worship DW got a BBQ, New potatoes & some cheese bread all heated up in oven. It was her day to have what she wanted. I just participated. So that means I ate what was fixed with no comment except that it was delicious.

We didn't do anything special for mother's day. Daughter was busy with her kids and son brought over flowers

No Mothers here, we drove to NC for a week at a timeshare with some cousins, DW got a phone call from her daughter but that was the extent of it.

Our "celebration" was very low-key. Flowers and cards, but no special meals or anything. Perhaps there was a beer or two involved, though.

As a kid I don't remember us doing anything special. It apparently ws instituted in the US in 1907 and the instigator regretted the later commercialism. No special meal out for us. Flowers from our daughter and best wishes from our son for mom.
