Okay. I'm going to post before the day gets away from me today. I'm a bit frustrated, truth be known, even though my weight was more else steady. I'm still trying to figure out what I need to do to head in other direction. My stats for this week are good. There was a time when I was stuck at a desk for 9 or 10 hours a day that would have given anything to have these numbers. The question everyone always asks me first is "how is your thyroid?" And the answer to that is that it's fine. I have it checked every 90 days. I'm a bit baffled, but I will not just say "what the heck." That would put me back where I started this journey (156) in no time.
So here are my 7-day averages:
Steps = 14,375
Floors = 16
Kcals burned/day = 1811
Kcals consumed/day (actual) = 1,223
Because I never forget TimDad's advice to add 200 calories a day to offset bad food levels, those bites of something we may forget etc., I am going to assume that the kcals were closer to 1400. But even then, Fitbit says I burned 400 more kcals per day than I consumed.
I just realized, as I wrote that I have the opportunity to speak to a nutritionist for no cost. It was offered to me for allowing a research study to have access to my blood work results a few months ago. Time to look into that. Maybe a fresh set of eyes . . .
Need to run. I'm taking over some tasks for hubby. His neck pain has been really bad for the past few days. Will check back later if I can. Happy hump day everyone.

Ok. So yesterday afternoon, #15 tooth cracked and entire filling came out. Had dentist appt at 8am this morning. Thankfully he was able to clean it up and fit a crown. $450 and done. No root canal first, no extraction and no to an implant. Happy camper over here. I did ask my recently retired neighbor to go with me, since 95% of the time, I tilt my head just so and trigger my vertigo. The entire team was very vigilant at keeping my head still and in position and NO VERTIGO. So I was able to cancel my 1:15 PT appt for the eppley maneuver. I did/do have a headache and sore mouth. I have a small mouth and it is the tooth in the very far back upper section, so they were stretching and pulling the cheek for more access. Oh and he has a lab on site - so I have my PERMANENT crown. I don't have to go back for it in two weeks. So yippee. I'm still using the oculus vr thingy. I've played a few times. Not today. My Son in law is landing in just a few minutes and Rhea and her mom are picking him up at the airport. They should be here in about an hour or so...super happy to see him. He'll be here for a few days, then with my son and then with his sister. Then he's off to OH to see his parents and I believe they are moving back to AZ. That's the hope/plan anyhow. The BBQ assembler will be here tomorrow afternoon to assemble my new grill, though we won't be having a party here to break it in, hopefully I'll find the excitement to cook healthy foods for the week on Sunday eve. Saturday everyone is getting together at my son's house as we hand off my SIL and going to Red Lobster for dinner.
Sarah stay focused. your weight is going to fluctuate and you know your body. It will drop tomorrow when we're not anxious about the numbers (or have Chinese food the night before - haha). Meet with the nutritionist. Finding one that connects with you is important and you might find some major insight. Hoping hubby's neck pain eases up. My back has eased up considerably. Was it the muscle relaxers, 15 chiro adjustments, icing 2-4 times a day or movement with the oculous. No one will ever know, but I am just super happy to not be in that pain anymore. I hope he finds a way to alleviate his pain.
Sheesh - you're on your way to grandkidland. Have a great trip. Be sure to rest at night. I get wiped out from one overnighter with Rhea...I don't know about a week. Whew! Enjoy - they are super cute.
Kelly, hoping you're finding time to focus on you - even if it is at the kid's events. Enjoy the time with them as they grow up and go away way too quickly. Check in when you can.0 -

Wow. I'm not sure this is accurate as I weighed on my daughter's scale here in OR.
We took our daughter and SIL to the airport and it's granddaughter time for a week. They're both off to school right now, so I have a couple of minutes to post. Daughter says they have to test before coming back from Mexico into the country . . so, pray for not Covid. It looks like the numbers are rising again. Daughter says masks are required at her University again, and our son in Cali is also again required to wear a mask at work. Ugh!!
Sarah, for sure take advantage of a nutritionist's input, and let us know what she/he says. I hope you can get it figured out. I never add 200 calories for errors in counting, but I have added 100 here and there. I'm wondering if your macros need adjustment, like maybe more protein and fat but fewer carbs ? That always works for me. Your activity numbers are really good!
Lois, I'm glad you were able to get your tooth all fixed in one day. Our dentist also does everything the same day, and it's so much better than the old way crowns were done. Enjoy your time with your SIL!
Kelly, is your new office like your old office was with a treadmill or some other fitness perk available to you? Maybe you can get 15 minutes here and there. Hope you little puppy does okay at home alone. Our kid's dog here is so cute (Labradoodle) and good in the house, but I think I might be allergic to him or whatever he's bringing in. Is your new dog a Labrador?
So, I'm going to do a quick Apple workout here . . we'll see if I can get it to work.

I looked back at my own post and saw that my brain and my fingers were not in sync again. I meant "bad food labels" and not "bad food levels." And there's not even autocorrect to blame!
Sheesh I'm so glad you got some time to post and I bet that's an actual loss. From what you've shared, it seems like you are increasing your level of activity as your foot heals. And regarding Covid, I just got a call from a good friend saying that a person who was at that Celebration of Life on Sunday now has Covid. And it's someone we talked to for a few minutes. I hope that being outside and the fact that we weren't together that long will be our saving grace.
Lois, I am so sorry about your tooth. I can sure relate to tooth issues now. But you're very lucky with that cost. I had to have the crown on #15 replaced about 6 months ago, and it cost me $1600.00. Yep, you heard that right. Everything in this area is super expensive. And I had to go the temporary to permanent route on top of it.
The good news for today is that hubby's neck and shoulder pain is much better today. He was miserable yesterday and a man in pain is often a cranky man!
Lois, he tries heat and ice, has had PT many times, takes muscle relaxers when indicated, and when it's really bad, he also takes Lyrica. It's odd that this hit him so quickly and so severely, and odder that our neighbor, who has similar issues and had the same surgery hubby had just a couple of weeks after he did, is also having a bad spell. Bariatric pressure maybe?
Well, need to run and get a few things accomplished. Take care!

Kinda surprised but I'll take it! Even stepped off the scale and back on, just to be sure lol
Busy busy still with work and kids sports. I've been at the office every day this week and have had ball hockey every night this week so far. With not getting home until after 10pm, it's too difficult to wake up early to workout unfortunately. I will end up figuring out a routine that works for me eventually. On my days off, I usually get tons of outdoor walking in, as I like to take the dog for multiple walks a day if it's nice out. Lately the rain just hasn't subsided though, so super depressing.
Sorry, just a quick post today, but I'll be back tomorrow to read and post more.0 -
Fantastic Kelly!!!! I don't miss those late night sports nights. I'm more of a morning person versus late nights.
Had a great weekend with the kids, grandkids and my visiting son in law. Eating wasn't what it should have been, but it sure did help with the happiness factor. Didn't play with the Oculus much last week, but I did do it early this morning. I've joined a FB group for the fitness program and women over 50... I haven't started the fitness program yet, but I will be after this weekend.
Hubby and I will be cleaning our house and more organizing (hoping to pack some of mom's clothes (but not donating yet). Still organizing my office area as well. The new bbq is assembled. Hubby needs to add the propane tank and connect (I'm too chicken with the way my back has been slipping so easy). And with being in the east valley to see the other grandkids yesterday, I did not order groceries. So another restaurant food week and then hopefully this weekend I'll get on track.0
