Well, way back when the 4th of July would have been a cookout beer bash. After I started WW with about 30 points to use per day, one day it occurred to me how many 100+ pt days I had probably put in. 4th of July was probably always 100+.0

Happy 4th! We had a low-key day with our usual eating routine. Haven't done any group or family celebrations since COVID hit. I usually try to stay within a certain range with holiday eating. No more it's a holiday, let 'er rip eating! Those days are behind me.1

"Don't worry about burning the calories. That's already been done.

On the road with just me and my DW in the RV no special celebrations0

The difference for me is that most holidays were "food holidays." We used to have special treats (or maybe, not particularly special treats) for holidays.
After starting WW, I'd come to appreciate that I didn't need to eat with abandon for a holiday. Indeed, for many holidays, I don't really eat differently from the rest of the week.
The one purposeful exception I make is Thanksgiving. That is my one full-on "cheat" day. I never was able to buy into the idea of the paper-plate WW model. I figure one day a year is not the end of the world.0 -
I think that the difference for me is more timing. Before WW, I was living near family, and there was frequently a pool party with lots of food - and I ate a lot of food. After losing the weight, there were still pool, parties, and I ate lots - but with a bit more mindfulness about my choices. I didn’t stay within daily points, but it was not the wild abandon it had been before.
This year? I had one rollover point from yesterday.0 -
Fourth of July, in particular, is a small affair - usually spent with my son. It's one day out of the year, like the Winter Holidays.1
