Well, steady as she goes, which I suppose is not too bad considering the holiday weekend. July 4 also affected my 7-day average steps because I only got a little over 4K steps that day, although it was a very busy one. We spent part of the day at the pool, where I don't wear my fitbit. We spent part of the day preparing food and then driving back and forth to a cookout held in a nearby town. And we spent a good deal of time sitting on our friends' deck and then sitting on the roof of a parking garage watching fireworks. Yep--one of our friends is working part-time in retirement for the city of Frederick, and he had keys to the roof of a garage overlooking the park where the fireworks were held. There's a wall around the roof that is about 3 feet high, so even hubby with his fear of heights was okay. And we could also see fireworks from other areas in the distance, plus a beautiful sunset before all that began. So it was good day.
Yesterday, however, was a bit of bummer. I was working at my desk getting some paperwork done and eating some crackers and cheese. For some reason, when I bit down into a cracker (just a regular buttercrisp), I felt a severe pain in my jaw. I was also turning my head at the time, but don't know if that contributed. My jaw continued to ache slightly for the rest of evening, and when I tried to chew some crusty bread, I had bad pain again. I figured I would have to call my dentist this morning, but it seems to have mostly abated, so I may just avoid hard or chewy food today and see how it goes. But it seems like suddenly my body is against me! I started to do arm exercises this morning and that pain in my shoulder flared up.
But, as hubby always says, it's another day on the right side the turf, so I'll just be a little cautious and see what happens.
Before I head off, here's my 7-day averages, which as I said, suffered from the holiday.
Steps = 11,384
Kcals burned = 1700
Stairs = 16 flights (the only thing that improved!)
I hope everyone is doing well and enjoyed the holidays. Kelly, we are still getting lots of rain here, although the 4th of July was gorgeous. Today, we expect rain from 2 p.m. on into sometime tomorrow. I can really feel that mold!

Yikes! Sorry to hear about your jaw and shoulder pain! Hopefully that gets resolved soon with some rest. Are you lacking any kind of vitamins maybe? I sometimes have pain in my jaw randomly and my dentist has attributed it to me clenching my jaw in my sleep. I often notice it more during stressful times.
I went for a massage on Monday for the first time in years. It was super relaxing and great. Still have issues with my shoulder and lower back, but it definitely helped for a bit. I'm sure if I continue going, it'll be worth it. We're covered through our work insurance, so why not.
One more day of work and then I'm on vacation until the 19th. Shawn's party is on Friday night at our house, so we have been prepping for that. Then we leave for the cabin on Sunday. Really looking forward to getting away for a bit. I'm especially looking forward to not feeling like I have a million things to do. The zero expectations kind of week. I need it. We'll have our pup with us, so walks will be daily, if not twice daily.
I hope all is well with everyone else!

Good morning, all. Thought I'd pop in and let you know what is happening here. Late yesterday afternoon I received the news that my aunt in NC died suddenly of a heart attack. She had turned 92 on July 2, was still living alone and was still somewhat active. She was probably my favorite aunt. We had planned to try to get to NC sometime this month to check on my sister, so if we can manage, we will probably try to get down a bit earlier in order to attend the funeral.
I know that between getting ready to leave, that long, long drive down and back, not having access to a treadmill or mall, and the very hot & humid temps down there that I will get little activity and intake will be harder to control. But life happens.
Kelly, I know it's a lot of work preparing, but I hope Shawn's 50th birthday celebration and the trip to the lake are worlds of fun.
Lois, I hope you get a chance to check in soon and that your hubby's recovery is going well.
I assume Sheesh is cabin-camping with her kids and grands, so we may not hear from her for a while. But I know she is enjoying her family time and it's also nice to have a change of scenery.
Well, I'm off to do laundry, cleaning, and once we have a timeline, change some appointments, contact pet sitters, etc. Whew! Kelly, take advantage of those massages. We had to pay because hubby's insurance did not cover them, but regular massages helped his back and neck issues for a long while.0

Same old same old over here.
Things are going over here. Work is busy and we're busy with appointments. Not doing great with eating and even less with activity. Between severe vertigo last week (3 epley sessions and still felt a bit wobbly until the weekend) which of course keeping your head still causes the back to be wonky so off to chiropractor yesterday. San Diego is next weekend and I'm really looking forward to the get away - wishing we could go longer.
Sarah - so sorry to hear the news. I hope you're able to pay your respects and attend services. Part of my San Diego trip is to ensure we get to see hubby's aging Auntie. We were going to postpone the trip, but we won't have another weekend to take the time until end of year with everyone's schedule so we're sticking with it. Her bday is the 29th. Hoping your jaw situation has remedied itself as well. It's so weird how our bodies respond to things and things that happen. - now for some happy stuff - Happiest of birthdays to you Saturday. I'm hoping you and hubby can find a way to celebrate - maybe get in a game or something. Something fun for you.
Kelly - Happy 50th to Shawn and enjoy the party!!! Then enjoy your cabin time. I love my massage time. I definitely don't make enough time to get them done, but I do love them.
Sheesh - enjoy your cabin time and family time. Can't wait to hear your recap.0

Hello from Colter Bay Campground and Cabins in Teton National Park, Wyoming 😊
We’re having a really great time with all our kids and grands! I have no idea of my weight, ha ha! It’s great weather and so beautiful here. Lots to do, but I’m mostly getting a kick out of seeing all the little cousins together having fun.
I’ve read your posts, but I really wanted to pop on to wish Sarah a very Happy Birthday!! I hope you celebrate and forget about dieting and exercise for the whole weekend. 😁 Calories don’t count on your Birthday!
I’m sorry to ready about the loss of your favorite aunt. She had a long and independent life, so hold onto the good memories of her. And, I really hope the jaw pain was just a weird muscle twinge.
Lois, I hope you’re vertigo is gone and your back is feeling better. You have a great trip coming to San Diego, so feel better and enjoy yourself.
Kelly, have a blast at your cabin getaway. And tell Shawn Happy Birthday from the SNS ladies!
I’m posting this from the bathroom of our cabin at almost 2 am here. . You know . . old lady nature call in the middle of the night, lol. So, I’m signing off. I’ll check in early next week.1

So glad to see your post Sheesh. Thank you for taking time to wish me happy birthday. I wondered about that time when I first saw your post! The wee hours of the morning!
We decided to break the trip halfway and I am really glad we did make reservations because we drove in heavy rain all the way here (close to the VA/NC line). Although I'm tired, I did make it down to the fitness center and got 10K steps for the day. Now I am going to get some rest. I will celebrate my birthday in a better fashion once we are home again. Keep having fun and share some pics later.0
