Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going. - Jim Ryun

Motivation is the reason for people's actions, willingness and goals. Motivation directs ones behavior, and it's what causes a person to want to repeat a behavior. It is one of the most important reasons that inspires a person to move forward in life. An individual's motivation may be inspired by others or events (extrinsic motivation) or it may come from within the individual (intrinsic motivation).

Today's list 10 reasons you want to lose weight or maintain your weight. What do you want to change? How do you want to look? How do you want to feel? What things will you be able to do in the future with a slimmer healthier body? And list all the OTHER things that you want to change!

You can put it in a blog, or record it here. The most important thing is to have a written record to remind yourself of your goals and motives. During the 56 days of this challenge it will keep you going when you remind yourself why you are doing this.

Think of yourself reading your list at the end of the Challenge, and having accomplished your goals!

What Can I Do In 8 Weeks? Saturday, January 23, 2021

I have been decluttering thing room by room. I am trying to simplify my life. I found this in a file of miscellaneous papers. It made me smile. I think that Kaliswalker challenged us to do this exercise in 2015. Things have changed since I initially did this, but I decided to sit down and complete it again.

What Can I Do In 8 Weeks?

I can keep the promises that I have made to myself.

I can thank God that I am healthy.

I can review and tweak my Eating Plan.

I can begin training so I can hike the Stone Mountain Loop Trail in October.

I can lose 5% of my body weight.

I can comfortably wear a 2X instead of a 3X.

I can complete 8 additional stages on my virtual hike of the Appalachian Trail.

I can paint my kitchen a bright color that I like.

I can see a difference in my appearance when I look into the mirror.

I can continue my habit of doing an Aquacize class three times a week.

I can spend time walking and talking with my Mother.

I can sort through things that I have not used in over a year and give them a new home.

I can join a gym and try new equipment and classes. If I don’t like them, I will have the satisfaction of knowing that I tried something before deciding it was not for me.

I can try a new recipe each week.

1. Chicken Cordon Bleu (Air Fryer)
2. Apple Cinnamon Mug Cake (Microwave)
3. Teriyaki Pork Chops (Air Fryer)
4. Cornbread (Air Fryer)
5. Roasted Ranch Potatoes (Air Fryer)
6. Bourbon Street Chicken (Slow Cooker)
7. Breaded Chicken Parmesan (Air Fryer)
8. Chicken & Broccoli Casserole (Air Fryer)

I can enjoy the rewards that I have promised myself and not feel guilty for doing things just for me.

I can meditate and enjoy spending time in my new covered deck.

I can thank God for the family and friends He has brought into my life!

What can I do in 8 weeks?
I can absolutely work toward getting 'back on track'. Initially, I will have to pay attention to everything that I eat/drink and make a note of everything I do. In a few weeks, some of these things practiced will become more of a habit and then I can figure out what else I can do in 8 weeks.

Today's list 10 reasons you want to lose weight.
    1. I want to feel better.
    2. I want to look better to me (especially in the mirror!)
    3. I want to look better in my clothes.
    4. I want to make sure that I don't gain any more weight so that I don't have to buy a new, bigger-sized wardrobe.
    5. I would love to buy new clothes in a smaller size.
    6. I know that my blood pressure has been creeping up as I've gotten older. Although there is no need for meds at this point, I don't want to have to face the reality that I have to go on daily medications. I'm going to try to do what I can to stop that from happening for as long as I can.
    7. I suffer from back aches. While I exerecise (that is the biggest reaon that my 'exercise of choice' is walking ~ it is gentle on my back and does help to keep those aches at bay).
    8. I'm facing laser treatment on my left leg. My mother had varicose vein stripping years ago. I am facing this although the procedure is not as invasive or painful as it was years ago. I would like to have this leg taken care of and then not have t make a decision about doing the other one again, losing some weight can help with that.
    9. Increased energy(?)!!'
    10. In general, I wish to move into my tomorrows feeling good about myself and my body.
