Not happy, not pleased with this week's result. Next week will be even worse because it's my birthday tomorrow. I am turning 50 and since tomorrow is Wednesday, celebrating will be stretched until Sunday. I am going to enjoy every birthday lunch (so far 2 already planned) as well as the cake my son already brought home tonight.
On Monday we are starting Biggest Loser at work - our annual tradition. I did pretty well in some years, so I hope it will give me extra motivation. I am glad this year we are starting AFTER my birthday.

Eating out is certainly a challenge. I try to manage it by reviewing the menu in advance (if possible), deciding what I will order, entering it into my diary as best I can, and skipping the dessert and alcohol. It helps that many restaurants now have their menus available online. So many places serve such large portions that I typically only end up eating only half of it.1 -
I didn't make my just one thing yesterday. I forgot! But if I would have, i would have said enjoy the apple tart. I made a special dessert for my dad. It was about 330 calories per tart.. I passed on the cheese, dressing (I just used vinegar) and the croutons on my salad. I saved enough calories to eat dessert with Dad and still be below my calorie goal for the day. Look how I showed up!!!
Just one thing: I am going to get an extra thousand steps in. So that would be 8000 for the day.

Enjoy your birthday lunches, and don't be so hard on yourself. One week of "bad" behavior is not indicative of who you are, and it definitely will not reverse all of the progress you've made.
Another important thing to remember is that a pound is roughly 3500 calories. If you're seeing a huge gain after all the celebrating, it's most likely not all new fat, but water retention to help your body process the extra food/salt/sugar/etc. Our bodies don't know that we're trying to lose weight - all our bodies can do is help us function based on the resources they're given.

Had gained a little weight back over the weekend when we travelled so worked hard and stayed in my calorie range to get the weight off and now reached my goal of getting under 250!

I've been working hard on my eating and exercise the past few weeks. I'm trying to eat more than I usually do when I'm trying to lose weight and it's working so far. Normally I eat between 900 to 1200 calories and after a few weeks I end up binging and gaining the weight back plus some. I'm currently eating between 1500 and 1800 calories. I try to aim for 1700, but usually end up around 1500. I also started doing dumbbell workouts a few times a week. I feel good and my body is happy!
On another note, my husband and I will be going through our first round of IUI towards the end of March. Hopefully it works. I know I'll have to work extra hard when im pregnant to not gain too much. Gained 30 with my first, then 40 with my second. But until, I'm still working on my goal of getting back under 200. 6.5 pounds to go!6 -

That is almost 3/4 of a million steps in one day! That is some serious stepping! Keep up the steps!3 -
So my "just one thing" yesterday was to take 1000 more steps than my goal. I stepped 9015 steps yesterday. That was 2015 steps over my goal! I stayed below my calorie goal, stretched, and drank 64 oz of water. It was an amazing day. I lived yesterday how a natural eater would live. I am becoming her. Sometimes i lose patience with myself, and in those moments i remind myself of how far I have come. What great successes I have had along the way. I am getting there. Where I want to be in my time. Kindness and compassion to ones self is the ultimate weight loss tool.
So today, my just one thing is reflection on my successes along the way to becoming the person God meant me to be.
If you could do just one thing extra today, what would that be? It is just one thing. We all can do one thing.3 -

Thank you @minstrelofsarcasm! I did not eat that much extra after all. We ordered smaller portions from the lunch menu and had a lot of salad. Of course I enjoyed the cake but then I was so full that I did not eat anything for the rest of the day.

Sorry Team, but a 2 pound gain after a 4 day cruise is not bad in my opinion. Wife and I did a cruise for our 20th anniversary, so we splurged a little (OK a lot, LOL). Now we both are back to our normal eating routine (high protein and low carb) and I have been back to the gym as well. This weekend I plan on getting the garden beds ready for Summer planting, as I already purchased some Tomatoes, Jalapenos, and green onions plants. With DST this weekend I can have more time outside when I come home to do stuff like tending to flower / garden beds and mowing the lawn.

@Stimpy56 2lbs isn't that much for a 4 day cruise, after my 1 day trip to San Antonio this last weekend I gained 2 lbs. Mostly due to the high sodium foods of fast food and Chinese food. Enjoy your gardening...I need to do my "flower beds" in our front yard..but it gets too hot here in Texas and my back and knees are not happy with me afterwards.3

My progress seems to be leveling off again but I did have a couple higher calorie days including one when I ate way too many potato chips. Just have to keep going. I'm still hoping to get below 160 by the end of March.

I do feel a little bummed that there was no loss today. And I also feel proud of myself. My reflection yesterday was inspiring. So I may not have lost physical weight, but mentally I lost weight this week. I have realized that, I am making huge progress and it does not have to show on the scale every time. I just started a new supplement that is suppose to help repair my bowels. Along with all my other pain, I have pain there too. My digestive system is a mess! Maybe this is the answer to fix my gut. Like with everything we do in life, only time and consistency will tell if it is helpful. It is date night tonite. The brewery that we go to in our town has made my favorite beer specially for me! What a great place. Have a great day everyone!
Losing mental weight is just as important as losing physical weight. To be successful in maintenance we must do both.4 -

I've been working out pretty consistently over the past week, despite the fact that I've still got residual dizziness. But, at the same time, girl scout cookies were delivered on Monday, so my eating is not as controlled as it would normally be. That being said, I'm considering this week a maintain.5 -

My daily one thing flew out the window this week 🙃
What I did do, was not overeat each day, on the day that I did the most steps, I ate more but it levelled out ok. Even though my steps weren't great this week and I've had an emotional set back, I lost a bit of weight. I was pleasantly surprised by that today.
