So essentially, holding my own. My doc said today that my BMI is 24, which is fine, and she's happy if I can stay around this weight. But I know that if I don't keep making some efforts to get it down a few more pounds, I'm likely to find myself gaining. It takes so little now for that to happen. And mentioning the doctor, would you believe that I forgot to mention my shoulder! We talked about my BP and the pre-cancerous places on my chest, and then we talked about an issue with the patient portal which had caused her to not see my message about testing positive for Covid. It was only as I was driving home that it hit me that I did not say a thing about the shoulder pain. So I guess I will need to make a separate appointment to deal with that. My BP is still a little high (133/84 today), so she asked me to check it every 5 days and if it gets to 140/90 or higher, we'll need to address.
My 7-day averages for last week were okay but not great.
Steps = 11,148
Kcals burned = 1,723
I am not listing stairs this week. One day, my Fitbit said I had climbed more than 30 floors, and I knew that could not be the case. So I checked around and it seems that other people have had this happen occasionally. The Fitbit site says altitude or wind can affect that stat, and goodness knows, we have been dealing with a lot of wind here. And that particular day was a day when I was able to walk outside, so I'm just discounting it.
Lois, it sounds like the walking and other exercises you are doing for your foot are really coming along. I meant to say this in my post yesterday.
Looking forward to hearing from everyone.

Hurray! Finally a reduction. Now to keep that going. However, we booked a trip to our Portland family on the 24th, and our Anniversary is on the 25th. I'm sure fattening food will be involved.
Lois, I don't know if we were posting at the same time or what, but I didn't see your post about your cousin until today. I'm so sorry. And, you're right that it's concerning. I know the men in your family are more vulnerable, but heart disease is the leading cause of disease death for women in the U.S. More than breast cancer. So, we certainly are not immune. I also have a history of stroke and heart attack in my family, and as you know, I've had mini strokes (before my PFO closure surgery) and an inherited clotting disorder from my dad. He suffered strokes. It scares me so much. That's why my doctor tells me, like it or not, I must take my BP med and my cholesterol med and a baby aspirin. Sarah, the BP and the cholesterol are both the lowest available dosage, and I cut the BP in half and monitor my BP. It's very interesting to note that it creeps up when I gain weight, and I'll take 3/4 or the whole pill to keep BP down. Then, when I reduce weight (get into the 120's) I need less again.
Sarah, maybe you can get a referral for an ortho doc without going back to your doctor? Also, I think you should go for it and lead the class! That's awesome.
Well, it's later than I would normally post, and we have Family Zoom in 10 minutes. I look forward to seeing everyone's post here.

Yay!! I'm finally in the 140's! Back at my wedding weight tooStill feeling pretty fantastic, despite having a minor cold and losing my voice because of hockey playoffs. I finished my first workout program EVER yesterday morning. I'm proud of myself because usually part way through, I give up. I'm looking forward to starting a new program, likely one with more weights. I'm still focusing on eating right and portion control, while still being able to indulge every once and a while. It's working!
Sadly, both kiddos are done hockey for the season now. Ella still has some ice time coming up for a camp but that's about it. Both kids will play Ball Hockey this Spring, but that won't start until May. I'm happy we won't have to be running around as much at the moment, but I will definitely miss the hockey season. We like the parents so much on Ella's team that we're having a 2nd parent party this weekend
Sarah - That's ridiculous with what happened to your husband with the bus. Makes no sense. But I agree, it's something that's pretty much out of your control and what will happen, will happen. I hope that you have found a way to ease your anxiety too. And how great is it that you were asked to be an instructor!? You must have amazing form for them to ask you.
Sheesh - Great reduction! I think it's so great that you do a family zoon night.
Lois - Fantastic job with keeping going! I bet it feels good to have those goals and markers to work towards. Keep it up!

Hello Everyone!!!
I have missed you all so much. I thought about you yesterday and then put a reminder on my calendar to log in. It has not been great lately, hence why I have been missing. My daughter has had strep throat for an entire month. They are worried that it is not going away and that it could spread to her heart, she is 7. We will find out this week when she is done with her antibiotics for the next steps. Other than that I am never getting divorced because he is way to controlling. And I have to have carpal tunnel surgery at the end of the month and cannot lift anything for 6 weeks. I think that my life seems pretty great (insert a huge amount of sarcasm).
Sarah- I am happy to hear that your appt went well. I am wondering if you could just message the doctor in the portal about your shoulder and then she could send you for an x-ray or what not instead of having a entirely new appt. to save time.
Sheesh- Exciting new about the weight lose!!! Keep it going until vacation of course and then enjoy. Life is short.
Kelly- I am so proud of you for finishing the program!! It takes a lot of time and effort to complete anything let alone a workout program.
I have not lost weight but have not gained weight either. I am adding a reminder to my calendar for weekly check ins.
Have a great week ladies. ~ Katie0 -
Happy monday Ladies. I can't believe I didn't pipe in at all last week. Super busy with two days of meetings that were not zoom and in locations that were not my corporate office. Played catch up the next couple of days. Got in my PT and whew! that was enough. We had Rhea this weekend, so she kept us on our toes. I took her for a bike ride to get my .75m walk in, but she turned around after just a few houses and decided we needed to go to the park and playground. So we packed into the van and off to the park we went. She played for about 90 mins and got nice and tired. She chose McD for dinner and then we were home. We had lots of Easter crafts and projects. Bought this fun egg decorator that uses plastic eggs!!! They came out pretty cute. She LOVED LOVED LOVED doing them. Her parents picked her up Sunday about noon, but she was so tired from Saturday, she did not want to go for a morning bike ride so I could get my walk in. Well, let me tell you. My legs were feeling pretty tired as well and I think it was from walking in the sand at the playground, so I was also kind of happy to not walk yesterday.
Sheesh - congrats on the reduction!! Keep it going. Thank you for the kind words for my cousin. It's tough. My son just had his check up and his bp is up. So he's focusing on reducing his weight, increasing cardio. Doc wants to check back in 3 months. Hopefully we can get him down and keep it down.
Sarah - I would call the doc office and leave a message with your concern about your shoulder. They may not require you to go in but may recommend going to a PT as they can be very good about diagnosing shoulder problems and then directing you back to the doc if they don't think the exercises and hands on will help. That's what we usually do. Also, you may want to think about leading a class. The commitment and planning may be what you need since you've retired...haha. Seriously, you might find that you really enjoy it.
Kelly - AMAZING!! Keep it going!!! Keeping up with the kiddos and their sports can be great for management and I loved your post on FB with all of the parents. I did miss the parents of my kids sports teams when we were done - as well as the TKD parents.
Katie - my heart goes out to you. I hope all gets better with your daughter and you can find a way to finalize your divorce so you can move forward. We're here if you just need to vent. Good luck with your carpal tunnel surgery. Follow up with PT post op for best results. I've had two hand surgeries and I believe my PT team had me back to full functioning very quickly.
OK. My world is once again crazy. Check in soon.0
