Weigh in day Thursday4 -
I’ve never used a Fitbit or tracked steps, but I live overseas and don’t own a car so I walk a lot (plus I have four little kids to chase 😜). But have you guys found fitbits to be helpful in motivating you to get exercise? Considering whether to get one or not1

I find it very helpful. You can set goals you can mark your progress you can step with friends. You can have competitions. I like it1 -

1/2 pound loss for the week. Not bad considering that I had Birthday cake twice this week. Hope everyone has a great day!5 -

I am very much a numbers person, so having a number in mind and knowing that it's being tracked actually helped me a lot when I used to focus on my step counts! Even without looking at the watch, I would get up more often just because I knew something was tracking my steps, regardless of how many I had taken that day. Kind of a good passive reminder to take walks.2 -

All of our bolded steppers set a goal and met it, based on their average steps per day!
Even with a slight drop, we are still over half a million steps for the week! Well done!

I don't have one but I installed a pedometer on my phone and it works pretty well when I'm not at home. If I actually carried it around when I as home it would be better but I don't.1 -

Before anyone feels the need to double check for accuracy, yes, that is correct. I’m on my March extended fast, I do one each month.4 -

Fitbit is removing the challenges aspect (27 March), open groups, reducing some watch functions and, now as they're owned by Google, are promoting Google Pixel watches and, I read, Fitbit accounts will become Google accounts by 2025. Lots of users are upset and either going for other brands or using mobile phone trackers. Many users are connecting their trackers to an app called Stridekick where you can join challenges. If you're able to have your phone on you most of the time, I suggest using its internal tracker and download GoogleFit app to connect to Fitbit, Stridekick, Strava and MyFitnessPal apps. For more accurate step counting, you can buy a cheaper watch but it might not connect to the apps. I have a cheaper watch, a Xiaomi, and just use the phone plus GoogleFit to be able to participate in the challenges.
People say Garmin and Apple are good watches. Personally, I think they and Fitbit are too expensive now.
I loved having the most basic Fitbit but it stopped working and I chose the xiaomi because I like tracking my steps, sleep and exercising for a fraction of the cost.
Try the phone tracker first, then go for a watch if you want to record all your steps.1 -
This is a screenshot of my Xiaomi watch app so you can see what it tracks.

For those that use your phone tracker, I've just bought this belt that I can zip my phone into to encourage me to keep it on me more often around the house 😊

The scale moved a little more this week than it did for my last weigh-in. I'm fine with that and still hope to be under 160 by the end of March. 68.4 lbs lost to date but really looking forward to hitting that 70 lb threshold.
Have a great week!4 -

This is absolutely the loss of a bloat. I did not burn over 10,000 calories in the past week. I'm still very happy to see the number dropping, but I am incredibly aware of the fact that this is accumulated loss from the past few weeks.4 -

My weight just keeps going back and forth. I have been walking on the treadmill and trying to eat healthy. I always feel bloated. I did get up at 4am to exercise which I was excited about. I have to figure something out.4

Hello All,
My sister-in-law visited us in Rwanda last week and she came with lots of goodies. She also made homemade pasta and meatballs. I honestly thought I would have gained a few pounds and am pleasantly surprised to see that I only went up 0.2 lb despite all the indulging I allowed myself.
I had been training for an 11k run/walk event that occured last Saturday. I didn't run as much of it because SIL had not trained for it and walked most of it so I stayed with her most of the time. I ran down a few hills but walked back up to her so I got a bit more than 11K. Now that the 11k is past I am looking forward to focusing more on strength training and running a bit less. My knees are getting creaky so I have been decreasing mileage. No more marathons for me. I also want to get back into a daily yoga practice, even if sometimes it's only 10 minutes of stretching.
Keep up the good work, every one!
Peace,
Jec

I'm really pleased about this week's progress. It was Spring Break, and I took the whole week off. I spent the week getting caught up on writing for my pre-dissertation paper, which is a 65+ page paper. I also got in extra water fitness classes this week as study breaks to keep me from going crazy from too much time in front of the keyboard. I'm happy to say that I have 67 pages written and I lost weight doing it!5 -
Well done @buniphuphu 👏1
