Staying steady. This week, I bounced between 129.8 and 131.4. I keep a calendar book on my desk and jot down various things I may need to remember and I also jot down my weight on Wednesdays. Last year, the first Wednesday in April was April 4, and my weight was exactly what it was today. So this has been a long stretch at the same spot in the road.

I have had issues with MFP this week, and this morning was the worst. First I could see only links in my food diary. Then I could see the diary as it usually appears, but could not add food. I also could not open any SNS links. I checked the boards and found that I was not the only person having issues. Some people's posts were unpleasant, which confounds me since most people do not pay to use MFP. So it seems they would have more patience when there are technical issues. But anyway, someone from MFP posted a message and asked those who were posting on that thread to please also let MFP support services know about the problems, so I did that and then waited a few hours. I'm still experiencing slowness, but I was able to add food and finally get on here. I hope the slowness will soon resolve, too.

Here are my 7-day averages for last week:

Steps = 10,335
Stairs = 15 floors
Kcals burned = 1,727

These are not much different from last week, although last week I had a couple of days when I had to take it easy and we went out to eat with friends a couple of times, so this week should have better. It seems it is going to take more effort than I'm putting in to get my step count higher again and to hit my 1,800 kcals burned goal. That last goal is much harder to reach than I ever imagined, and I seldom do. We were supposed to go out to dinner with friends again this past Saturday night, but we ended up canceling plans because we were predicted to have winds of 60+ miles per hour that evening. So we just caught up with some folks via zoom in the early evening, brought everything inside that could become airborne, and then settled in for the night. The storm, thankfully, went around us, and although we got rain and wind, it was not devastating.

Kelly, you are doing so good with getting in your workouts, and a little fluctuation is inevitable, I think. And it made me smile to hear you say that what matters is your brother's happiness. I am working, myself, on how I view things.

Well, we are having an unusually warm day, and so I need to take advantage of it and get out and walk. I will check back later to see how everyone is doing.

    Hello everyone. 1 week out of surgery and I can type! The movement is not the same with the wrap but I can still accomplish it. Helps that I did not have to take off work long then. I saw 170 this past week!!! I was so freaking happy. I am making progress slowly but it is still progress. I noticed I really just need to not eat when my children eat. They are growing tiny humans, I am NOT LOL. Crossfit is still fun even though I only have 1 hand to use. They find things for me to do so I can still participate which I appreciate. I started running again. I used to run 3-6 miles at a time. This morning it was just trying to get to 1 without stopping. I will get there again I tell myself.

    Sarah- Baseball season seems to be your favorite season. One day of happiness will not ruin your life :) I am happy to hear your leg is getting better.

    Kelly- A destination wedding sounds super fun although I would be leery as you are about your brothers situation. Is he jumping in too fast given he was just recently getting divorced. Coming from someone getting a divorce I personally would not be thinking about marriage so soon. Yet ever again in my case. Good positive thinking though around the situation.

    Sheesh- I am so happy to hear that your vacation was good. The memories we create are far more important than the weight we carry.

    Lois- I hope that you are getting some sleep and things are moving in a positive direction for you.

    LastChance- Girl you are killing it with all the ways you are finding to get steps in. Pretty creative you are. I can imagine those step ups would definitely hurt with the wrong equipment. Hopefully you'll recover and be stronger than ever. Good luck on the new therapist.

    Well, Easter consists of church and that is about it this year. Since Easter is not a day I have my children I will be coming home to relax. My family doesn't hold Easter. No biggy though. Lily (5) got a bike and some pink crocs and Azalea (7) got hula hoops and blue crocs. Both only 1 piece of candy. We do not do the Easter Bunny in our house. We celebrate Jesus dieing on the Cross for us and understand gifts are only just that, gifts at Easter. (If anyone does not believe in Jesus, I am not trying to offend you)

    I hope everyone has an amazing week! ~Katie

    Oh my goodness, this past week or so has been crazy. So much to catch up on.

    Sheesh - so glad you got to travel even with the crazy weather and delays. this morning my daughter, son in law and great grand kitty were coming to PHX from Seattle. Their flight was delayed as the crew was stuck on the freeway!! Delayed about 30 mins...not too bad but a funny reason for delay.

    Sarah - glad you're moving around after your leg zapping and that you're feeling well. Be careful not to overdo your activity and undo what the docs have corrected.

    Katie - so happy your surgery went well. I have a carpal tunnel brace and the way you have to hold your arm to type is crazy, but as you've demonstrated, do able.

    Kelly - I just love to hear your family growth stories. I love how you've embraced the kids as your own and willing to do whatever needs for them to grow and experience. And I hope it all turns out well for your brother.

    So...this past weekend I went to Rhea's for an overnight to visit them and to have a shorter commute to Kelsie and her horse lessons. Well, Kelsie cancelled - again Saturday night, so I got to sleep in (haha Rhea had me up early) but I didn't have to rush out to get Kelsie. I was super disappointed Kelsie cancelled. She asked me several times to still come over for a visit, but I just couldn't see rewarding her with special Grandma time when she cancelled after promising she wouldn't cancel past Thursday night just the previous week. Followed by texts that she pinky promises not to cancel if I schedule more lessons. I'm leaving it to my daughter to decide. Lessons are $65/lesson and I would just like her to get the refund (if possible) and I'll just schedule special days with Kelsie and not have the stress of the lessons. Anyhow, I came home Sunday afternoon and I CRASHED in the recliner shortly after sitting down. Don't know why, but I was super lethargic all day. I moved to the kitchen chairs and was nodding off. Moved to sit up on the couch and slept yet again. Went to bed and got up fine for work on Monday. Monday just after noon, started to feel unwell. Sweaty and fatigue set in, ended up in bed Monday afternoon and all day Tuesday. No idea what happened, just didn't feel well at all. So not much movement on my side.

    I met with my friend on Saturday and discussed her program similar to Nutrisystem. Unsure if it's for me, but I'm starting the research. Our Factor meals did not arrive this week. Had to call several times and finally got my refund in process this morning. I have cancelled our subscription. We've had several issues and their Customer Service is non-existent. The meals are ok and worked for us, but I can't handle the frustration when the orders don't arrive or arrive so late that I'm concerned about eating them. Sometimes they don't get here until 8pm. Well that doesn't really work for the weekly meal plan/budgeting when I have to come up with a dinner that I thought was being delivered. So, I now need to figure something out. I've ordered from Garcias last night and that will take care of us for yesterday and tonight. Tomorrow is poke and fish tacos for Lent, so I'm in good shape this week. Next week we'll have leftover ham and salads. So I have a little bit of game plan.

    Due to not feeling well Mon/Tuesday I have cancelled my PT for this week. Monday I have an appt with the podiatrist about my ingrown yucky toenail. Depending on what happens at that appointment, PT could be in jeopardy next week as well. When I go walking, it does irritate the ingrown toenail, so I'm going to keep it mellow and get through Easter.

    Katie, like you, we also work on focusing on Christ and his sacrifice and renewal. We do have baskets with treats, but we also talk about what the day truly means. I will watch Mass online before the kids arrive. And we have silly gifts in the easter egg hunt for Rhea (gotta find a way to burn energy off that little one).

    With Kelsie and Cam, I usually take them shopping and let them pick out what they want/need. With Rhea, I buy many little things but the toys I buy, stay here and are for all of the grandkids to play with when they visit. Kelsie was not into dolls/barbies, but Rhea is, so I've been buying some new barbie style dolls for the house. They will not be out for Easter, but next week when Rhea comes for an overnight with me.

    Sorry to be a day late posting. I'm happy with that small reduction, and I'm super happy with the news my trainer gave me today . . she knows I'm ready to concentrate on things now, so she came today with her measuring tape and pinch caliper, and had me on the scale. Yikes. BUT, even though my weight is up from last time we did measurements, my fat percentage is down .8% !! I'm really happy with that. Yes, I would like more reduction on the scale, but bone and muscle are more important to me at my age. So now the task is to reduce without losing lean mass. . which I've found hard to do. I'm open to any ideas you ladies might have. I don't know if I've mentioned we're going to Mexico with our family in Feb '24, so I'm already thinking about that :p

    Sarah, I'm happy you enjoyed opening day with traditional baseball food! I'm embarrassed to admit that I always do that! We only live once, right? We have to factor in some enjoyment along the way, and you had a good reduction. Congrats. Glad your leg vein treatment is over and healing.

    Katie, I can tell your attitude is really positive, and I'm sure you'll do great because of that! In time your divorce will be finalized and life will move forward, and your surgery was successful! I know you'll have the opportunity to focus on yourself more now. Happy Easter!!

    Kelly, I agree with Sarah that fluctuations are inevitable. It's never going to be a straight line with weight, so keep on keeping on and don't let it get in your head. As far as your brother, what I've learned (sometimes the hard way, lol) is that our most important role with adult family is support of their choices, even if we think it's a mistake. We just never know what's right or wrong for another person. When I married my hubby, my parents were not that happy. They liked my old boyfriend better, and told me so. It only made me feel less close to them. Here we are 47 years later and happy. My old boyfriend is twice divorced, and an alcoholic. My parents are gone, but I wonder if they might be seeing how wrong they were.

    Lois, I look forward to your post. I hope you've been able to add to your mile walk a little every day. Thinking about your kids being with you for Easter. :)

    Have a great Easter everyone!

    Good morning, all. I am continuing to have trouble with MFP. Yesterday, I could not open this thread, and today, it took forever, but I'm happy to see new posts. Katie, I am so glad to surgery went well.
    And you are doing great, and yes, you will be able to run further in time. Just build up gradually. I mostly walk and sometimes slow jog now, but I used to run. When I started, I could not run a quarter of a mile, but within a year, I was running 4 miles. Of course, I was much younger then. Part of the reason I stopped running was a stupid injury. I decided to sprint on a track one day without sufficiently warm up and I tore a quad. And then I got into workaholic mode. Fortunately, buying a bodybugg in 2010 helped me turn that around, but I can't help but regret all those sedentary years.

    Sheesh, you are right. It's our bones and muscles that matter most. Congratulations on getting your fat percentage down. That's a big deal. And if you're like me (and we do seem to be a lot alike :smile: ), having a special trip will be a big motivation.

    Well, I need to get some things done. We were supposed to have Easter dinner at a friend's house, but the husband of that couple came down with shingles a few weeks ago and is still in pain, and they had to put down one of their pets this week, so we told them to take a break and come here. That means I have extra food to buy and prep (we were planning on taking a dessert and one side dish to their house, but now I have the whole ball of wax). We also have a birthday party to attend for another friend on Saturday, so today is my "get ready" day. Katie, I like how you celebrate Easter with your girls, and I hope that you spend your Sunday afternoon doing things you enjoy doing but may not be able to do when you are in Mom mode.

    Hope everyone has a nice weekend. Hopefully Lois will take a break and pop in to let us know how she's doing. I know she's in 7th heaven having her daughter home from Japan.

    Arghhhh. Despite struggling hard to ensure that I ended the days with a deficit even with the weekend's social/eating events, my weight is up 2-1/2 pounds today! So frustrating. I know that all I can do is just concentrate on today. I also know that my sugar and salt intake was up, given the types of food that made up my calories on both Saturday and Sunday. So my intent is to try to really reduce those two items today and tomorrow. I'll leave the leftovers from Easter dinner for hubby to eat. Thought if I just stated that here, it might help me stay on track. I'm still having some trouble opening the SNS threads (takes forever), but the food diary issue is much better. Hope all is well with everyone.
