    ✅✅✅ 2️⃣ pass days left 👌🏻

I had a hip replacement 9 months into my starting weight loss. I had lost about 45 lbs, and had been training so that I was as fit as possible, and I was back to almost normal about 3 weeks after the op.

I’ve had a few minor surgeries since but was only laid up for less than a week with those.

Happy 1 yr anniversary @CarolAnnM2 and good luck on your recovery after your surgery. I had my gallbladder removed (emergency) Christmas 2020 - right in the thick of another round of rising Covid cases: hospitals were short-staffed and over capacity. All went well. I did okay on maintaining but then slowly I started to gain weight and by the end of April had regained to my starting weight (16 lbs regained). But that was bc I was binging. I finally had to get a book on self-sabotaging and work my way through that. Today I can say that area of my life is under control. I do need to work on portion control still but now that I'm off a particular med, I've noticed my appetite has diminished.

    ✅✅✅

    Surgeries

After Kidney transplant & an Arm/shoulder break surgery - scale zoomed up immediately post surgery.

knew from transplant that I should eat more protein & expect temporary weight gain (water).

It is very important not to diet post surgery. Your body needs 20-25% more calories to handle the increased energy needs of healing. I did diet the first 3 weeks & then was told not to until week 8.

They got me walking a lot of steps very soon after each surgery - even if I had to break it into 3 walks.

I did ALL PT exactly as prescribed, using the Durrell’s on Corfu &
    Other shows to help
    Me pass the 1-2 hours…

    Good luck on your recovery.
