Got 5.64 miles done in 106 mins to the post office and back. Beautiful morning but getting warmer and warmer. Making soup now.
Ronan is coming over to play with Pat this afternoon.

Chris, I am a coffee snob too. I don't blend my beans but I do grind my own. Our espresso machine at home is the best thing we ever bought! It has preset functions that you can customise so we have it set to make the perfect latte. The milk makes a difference too - we use a local single-source milk that is just beautiful (the few times we've had to buy a different brand it just didn't taste as good!). Sorry to hear about your heart issues, my mum has a-fib as well and it has caused her some awful issues. She only got diagnosed after she went to see a doctor about her leg which was puffy and constantly weeping a clear liquid (we assume lymphatic fluid). He pressed his finger on her leg and sent her straight to hospital, where she was flown out to a larger hospital and stayed for a couple of weeks. She had a few procedures and now she's right as rain (with medication, of course). She's a farmer so she's tough as nails and never puts her own health first so I'm really glad she listened to the doctors! I hope your medical team can get your heart sorted too.

It's a rainy day today, and quite cool. I was hoping that the weather would be warming up soon but it's taking its time unfortunately. I am generally an evening exerciser so I will aim to get a workout in tonight after my son goes to bed.

I don't know if any of you are following the soccer world cup, but our Aussies are through to the semi finals which is the best we've ever done! I watched the penalty shootout on Saturday night against France, it was nail-biting for sure (I'm not actually a soccer fan and couldn't sit through the whole match, but I did turn it on for the penalty shootout). Our girls face up against England on Wednesday for a spot in the final - we're all very proud!

Christie very glad your mom is doing well. She really went through a lot. What kind of workout did you do? I did not watch the game. But it sounds exciting.

Chris great walk. I did not move much. :s

I made rolls today. Had a potluck dinner with friends on the mountain. They had a new puppy. And there were quite a few deer hanging out. Humming birds were everywhere. I started the morning with a exercise routine for my core and hips.

We made it safely to St Simons Island, GA. I drove the entire 5 hours because I don’t like anyone’s driving except my own. It’s a control issue. 🤷🏽‍♀️ mom was a little tired from the drive so we made it an evening in and watched the Braves with her. We have a very busy day on Monday with a trolley tour if the Island, her birthday dinner and a celebration on the rooftop after the sun goes down. We did get in a little pool and beach time after the sun set as it was about 100 degrees. Here’s a couple of pictures. My mom, 3 sisters and 3 nieces. The sunsetting behind the clouds. My mom enjoying the beach. It was a good first day.

Chris & Christine - hello fellow coffee snobs. I am one of the club. I love coffee. It’s probably the one thing I don’t think I could ever give up. Only stopped for the time I was pregnant and nursing my daughter, and then immediately start it again. I think I have five different ways of making coffee at home :-)

It’s been a whirlwind the past two weeks. Got home from a work trip to Hungary, was home for five days and then turned the family around and we are at the beach in Rehoboth Delaware. We got here on Saturday and are having a good time so far. Rented a two bedroom condo that has plenty of room for all of us. Bella has been really struggling with some stomach issues so that has not been fun. We thought it might be lactose intolerance so they’ve been trying to stay away from milk and taking Lactaid but I think the Lactaid is making them worse so we’re stopping that. Trying to navigate them eating here while on vacation is not easy. I am making meals about half the time so hopefully they will be able to eat my chicken enchiladas for dinner tonight :-)

Got 12,000 steps in yesterday. Went for a short walk in the morning and the beach and the boardwalk gave us a lot of steps. Of course I’m also eating more than I would :-). The food is delicious here. Really hot yesterday…so lots of water!

Today we’re going to the pool and Bella and I are going for medi/pedi’s in the afternoon. And then some shopping! I do want to try to get some steps in as well. Trying to have a relaxing week since most of the time we are on the run.

Finally posting some pictures from my trip to Budapest a week and a half ago. Work takes me there a few times a year. I think I’ve been there at least 20 times at this point. What a gorgeous, gorgeous city. It was so interesting going this time because I went with some new people on my team and they really wanted to explore. Three of us went in a day early and went to Vienna (I’ve always wanted to go)…so glad we did….gorgeous city! We ate in a very old Inn where Mozart and contemporaries of his time used to hang out. Has to eat Wiener schnitzel while there! kpz71syy2xvf.jpeg

Last, but not least, we did a teambuilder and tour at a 1000 year old Abbey. This place has an amazing history. At one point they had Jews in World War II, and they’ve survived three fires, and today they are a catholic boarding school. Beautiful ..

@KAR1959 and @kjs1228 Beautiful pics, thanks for sharing!

I had an ok day yesterday (Monday). I ate too many calories, mostly because my blood sugar dropped in the afternoon and I needed to eat something to bring it back up - it's dangerous because it takes a little time to have an effect so I end up eating more than I probably needed. I think I need to look at eating patterns when this happens. I'd definitely eaten enough all day but had a smaller lunch and larger breakfast so maybe that's not a good idea for me.

I did get my step goal - I checked right before bed and was a couple hundred steps short so I wandered around the house until I hit it lol. In the evening I did a 1-mile Get Fit With Rick video (they're always fun) and a 20-minute yoga workout on Apple Fitness. Ticked off a few things on my to-do list and caught up with a friend briefly. So aside from the afternoon semi-binge, it was a good day.

I love your pictures, Kathy and Karen!! Wow!
We had Collin this morning then I went to my trainer for a 60 min workout. Pat picked up Ronan form school and they did homework and played games.
We had thunder and lightning and rain late yesterday!! I caught the lightning on our ring camera!!! Today is so muggy and hot today! I don't think it ever cooled down last night. I'd love to walk tomorrow...might not be in the cards. We'll see.

I am so sad. Almost all of Kathy's and Karen's pics were blurred. I will try to look again tomorrow. I was able to read all their posts though. Imply inspiring.

Karen we love schnitzel. Rocky used to make his version all the time. Hmmm, must get him to make it again.

Christie very inspiring getting those last few steps in. I love your walks. Keep posting them for me. And maybe a photo of your son. Have you considered glucose, like for diabetics, to raise your sugar?

Chris we had thunder last week. You could feel it vibrate. It was something. My tanks got a little heated today. Have to cool them down. I hope you are able to get in a walk tomorrow.

Took mom shopping today. Rocky came with us. Breakfast fist at a small cafe called the Derrick. Mom and I split a biscuit and gravy plate. Delish. Then to Kohl's for dish towels. A trip to Hobby Lobby for yarn and buttons. She is making toppers for her towels. They make great gifts. Did 30 pushups this morning.

Shelley, I have insulin resistance (and PCOS) so I do keep some things on hand to help when my blood sugar drops - the trouble is knowing how much to have. Glucose just on its own makes me feel ill, and I find better results when there is some protein included (otherwise it spikes too high afterwards). I'm just still figuring it out!

Yesterday afternoon I took my son for a ride on our little motorbike. It's a 47-year-old Honda that was my hubby's bike when he was a kid (we're farm kids!) and he's been restoring it. Kiddo has been LOVING it - he's too small to ride by himself so hubby or I have to take him. Our new house (we moved about 8 months ago) has a few acres so just enough room to ride around on our block. We went for a few laps around yesterday before it got too cold/dark and it was such fun!

Here's a pic we took at the end - kiddo is pretending to ride so don't mind the action blur of his arm as he "revs" it!
    uds4l36qdjne.jpg

I closed my Apple Watch rings, but didn't hit my step count unfortunately. Did some bodyweight exercises (pushups, lunges) and I'm sure feeling it in my chest today!

Great pictures everyone!! So terrific! So much fun!
We had Collin Duty this morning. That kid is 23 pounds at 9 month old this Thursday the 17th! We can't carry him for too long...he get heavy!! He's crawling like a madman and pulling himself up. He should be walking pretty soon...I think. I can't remember when my kids took their first steps.
Nick had this thing about ears...he rubbed his ear lobe when he was nursing or taking the bottle and when he was on your lap or near you he would rub your ear lobe. I had to quit wearing pierced earrings because of his little habit!! BUT...Collin is rubbing his ear and rubbed mine when I was rocking him to sleep yesterday...oh, the memories!! Man!!
Pat picked up Ronan from school and he did his homework and played here until Sara picked him up a bit ago.

Kathy I love the group photos. And the matching tees. Great touch. I was able to see your earlier photo's. Loved them all. Your mom is so lucky to have you all.

Karen I saw yours also. Such beautiful buildings. I noticed the roses in the forefront. Simply beautiful.

Christie what a handsome young man. I know you will find the right combination of protein and sugar. I think weight training will help. I think it helps with everything. Especially burpees. ;) I may not have grown up farming, but I do like to grow things.

Chris, he is growing to quickly. Walking will be soon. Memories can be so bitter sweet. Hugs my friend.

I went on a road trip to a museum for military vehicles. Every history buff should go. So much history. We were there for several hours and could have stayed longer. Then we had ice cream in their restaurant. One scoop was more like fill the cone and then put on a scoop. To much. But so good.

ICE CREAM!!!!!!! Sounds like fun, Shelley!
We had Collin this morning. My trainer was ill so no workout. Pat and I UPS'd my heart devise back to whomever is going to get Kaiser the results. I have no idea how long that's going to take. Then we went by Nick's niche to change up his flowers and super heroes protecting it. Then we came home. I am going to read now.

The museum of military vehicles is huge. And the first few rooms were rifles and the likes. You could wander for hours listening to tours and reading. The staff were very knowledgeable. If you come to Yellowstone you need to stop in.

Shelley - those pics are cool....I've always been into all things military. The vehicles always look so sturdy....hard to believe they can move sometimes!

Your pathway looks great! Love the seating area..

This vacation has been a mixed bag to.be honest. Bella's had some significant GI issues that have made it really hard on all of us. I heard back from her Dr (we had taken her for a visit before vacation) and she's now given us the greenlight to go to a specialist. I stayed home with her yesterday and Jim went to the beach. She did feel well enough at Noon and we walked over to a local thrift shop and got some goodies. We did do the boardwalk at night which was fun. Making the most of it....we leave tomorrow...so hoping for a beach day where we can all go!

I live in PA, married with a 17 year old...my 75 year old Mom lives with us...she's on cat duty while we are gone!

Okay so I’m absolutely moving to the beach. 🤣 This is definitely all about being active because we ate a lot and it wasn’t always healthy. It was all the activities and just being happy and not focusing on food. I’ve have to continue this the remainder of the month.

My trainer is sick...Sara and Ronan have colds...Collin has boogers :p ...(I can't say that word out loud...gag!!) Everyone's birthday is this weekend!!!!!!! My trainer 's is Saturday, Sara's is Sunday, and Ronan's is Monday. The kids had parties planned for Sat and Sun but cancelled because they didn't want to spread their nastiness. We are celebrating Sara's and Ronan's tomorrow. Sara had a special cake made for Ronan and it's to be delivered tomorrow. I bagged all the presents yesterday...I was exhausted when I finished!!!
Today should be interesting. Ronan is home from school again today. Collin was supposed to be dropped off 30 mins ago...sigh...SIL :#

Chris, boogers, boogers, boogers. I am a stinker. :# Sorry your SIL can't be consider your time.

Kathy does moving to the beach mean you will not eat healthy? And to much? Nope you are a land lubber! Stay healthy my friend.

Karen good luck getting to the root of Bella's issues. GI issues are no fun. I hope you had that day at the beach.

My mom will be staying with us longer. She lives between Silver Lake and Granite Lake. By Medical Lake WA. There is a fire raging. They have evacuated all the area. Homes are burning. Elementary school, gone. We would be surprised if her home survives. My sisters first home is gone. My grandmother's home may be gone. We hope to hear more tomorrow.

Oh, thanks, Shelley...I'll never sleep without seeing them again!!!!! :'(
We had birthday lunch with Ronan and Sara. Pizza and cake!! The cake was amazing! I'll see if Sara will send me a picture. Ronan's theme was Hogwarts. I got a shirt. I was a cool Grandma, but he managed to kill me several times!!! I set up a Battle off their front porch this morning...tried to do it in secret but was spotted out the front window...the Battle was intense regardless of the UN-surprise!!
Pat walked with me this morning!! We did 3.56 miles in 75 mins.!! He might walk with me tomorrow, but if not, I'll walk to the post office and back. He says more than about an hour is too much for him these days...the post office is much more that and hour.
Have a great weekend my friends!

Sorry Chris. I may have gone to far. I am glad the party was so much fun. I do need a picture of the cake.

My moms house survived so far. Fire is not contained yet. I heard that over 100 homes have been lost. One was only a block from hers, and also the one directly behind hers. Scaey.
