Walked to the post office and back this morning...6.13 miles in 110 mins. The weather was weird with heavy cloud cover then no clouds and sunny and breezy. There were a lot of people out this morning...much more that usual.

Thanks for the welcome, Karen  My cute lil man is my son  He's 4.5 and goes to preschool 3 days a week. This week they have book week so they'll be dressing up as characters from their favourite books on Thursday. I asked who he wanted to dress as, and he straight away said "Harry Potter"! My heart could've burst with pride lol he hasn't even heard the books yet but he enjoys the Lego playstation game and has watched parts of the movies with me - mostly he just knows the characters and knows that I am a big fan so he chose it to make me happy and I am ok with that! We have got him a Hogwarts robe, some glasses and a wand to wear. I will definitely share a pic (assuming hubby remembers to take some!).
P.S. those are some nice pics, it looks like a beautiful area. I hope things improve with Bella's health before you have to leave.

Shelley, I'm sorry to hear about the fires. We have seen some footage on our news here in Australia about the fires in the US and Canada, and it's just awful. I hope your mom's house stays ok.

Chris, I'm glad the party/battle was a hoot! That cake is amazing!!

Well, my son is back to full health (almost, close enough to go back to preschool anyway) so I'm glad it was just a quick cold this time. He seems to catch everything, poor kid! He was about 1.5 when the covid lockdowns and social distancing started so he didn't get a lot of exposure to anything at a young age, I guess it's all just playing catch up now. So far hubby and I have both avoided catching this one, hopefully it stays that way.

Had Collin Duty this morning then my trainer for 60 mins. Pat is picking up Ronan...it is his REAL birthday today. We have one gift for him and he has invited us to Taco Bell Dinner tonight at his house. :# ...should be fun. SIL's mom is supposed to be there.
It's muggy here. Storm has passed us up. It did hit places we lived down south when we were kids.
    That's it for now.

Christie thank you. She was so worried about all her photos. There have been over a hundred homes lost. Quite a few were her friends homes. I hope to see your sons photos.

Chris I love the photos. And we all love Harry Potter. What is the final gift? I am glad you forgave me and so awfully sorry about the damage. I am sure Hermione has a spell to fix it though. Bwawawa

Rocky and I have been going up and working on the siding on our little cabin. Just early mornings. To hot in the afternoon and I don't like leaving mom to long. Will post updates later. Tomorrow we are taking her to brunch with friends.

    Harry Potter is the best!

I did get out for a quick 30 minute walk today. My meetings were back to back but it was nice to get some fresh air. It was actually beautiful today. Just 80° here in Pennsylvania :-) I do have a late night phone call at 9:30. Not sure if I’m gonna make it. Lol. :-)

    Thanks, Christie.
Shelley everyone was waving wands at Ronan's Taco Bell Birthday Dinner Monday night!! His final gift was a heavy fighting shield. (A Grandpa thing... :# ) It is a little heavy so a deal was struck to get a lighter one. We'll see.
Karen, glad you got in a short walk.
We had Collin this morning. Our housekeeper came before noon, so I had to clean the house for her then Pat picked up Ronan from school and they played and did homework after Ronan had his creature battle out back. It was an eventful day!! No walking for me, tho.

Chris I thought for sure you would modify to burpees. ;)

Worked on siding again today. Tomorrow we are working on the front side of the cabin. We will need to rent a lift to reach the final areas of the cabin. No way can we reach the peaks without having 20 feet of scaffolding. Maybe more. No way will I do it.

My aunt tested positive for Covid. My cousin who’s a nurse said the numbers are rising like crazy and thinks it will only get worse by fall/winter. Don’t want to hear. I guess we will deal with this for the rest of our lives.

Shelley praying for your Mom and her house.

Chris hope everyone feels better soon!

    Karen love your vacation pictures.

Kathy, so sorry your aunt got Covid. My trainer and I were just talking about it this afternoon. Bad stuff is back. Be careful everyone. Wear your mask!! I may never go into the grocery store ever again!! Or any other store, for that matter!

Kathy wishing your aunt all the best. I think you are right. Covid is here to stay. >:) Kathy seems her home is out of danger. My sister is coming for her today.

Chris for most Covid is no worse than the flu. The flu also can kill. I don’t blame you for wanting to stay healthy. I love going places though. I will avoid crowds. But not living my life in a bubble. I just can’t.

Everything is sore. A week of climbing scaffolding and bending twisting has left me sore. But strangely more limber.

Went on an hour walk last night with my mom. She rode her scooter. And loved it. It is hard to brake. So for steep inclines I keep a hand on the brake.

Shelley, I'd venture out if it was for Collin being so little, and if it wasn't so easy to order groceries and Amazon. Being retired changes things!!! :D
We had Collin most of the day today. Sara's high school choir teacher passed away, and they held his memorial today. All his students were there singing their Good Byes. He was a good teacher. He allowed Sara to join the choir a year before she should have been allowed to join!!! Ronan went so he could see and hear his mom sing!! He said the singing part was "Cool" but the rest of the talking part was "Boring"!
It was a long day for us.

Chris he sounds like he was pretty special. Amazon is pretty convenient.

My sister drove in from WA today. She is driving my mom home on Monday. I have enjoyed her visit and will be sad to see her go. I weeded and cleaned today. Then went to Menards to purchase some equipment to fix a leak in our hot tub. What a pain.

Going to Ronan's re-scheduled Birthday Bash today. Going to make a big fruit salad then go and help Sara. She is having a back issue and having trouble picking up the little Beast!! I'll let you know how it all goes. There will be a big blow up bouncing house...a castle, I think...Harry Potter themed. Should be a blast....bawahahaha...just kidding...Grandma in the bouncing house is a riot!!!

Thanks for the mini challenge, I will give it a go. Last time I tested a plank I could do about 45 seconds. I work at a mine site where we have to have periodic medicals which include functional tests - amongst other things, one of them is a plank. We're meant to aim for 2 minutes (!) but I don't think anybody can actually do that, and I always say that my desk job should not require any kind of core strength!!

My son had an eye/vision screening test at preschool last week, and they called to say that he has almost no vision in one eye. We know that eye has turned inwards on and off when he's tired for a while and we had been meaning to get him checked out properly, but this came as a real surprise because he's very good at reading etc. They got him in to a visiting optometrist the next day, and they gave quite a strong prescription (+4.50 in both eyes). We wanted a second opinion because it seemed odd to have the same prescription on both eyes when one performed quite normally in the screening. So we took him on Friday to a paedeatric optometrist which is 3 hours drive away. This guy was really good and explained about how until about age 9, kids are still forming the neural pathways for their vision, so getting him into corrective lenses now is great because he will essentially rewire his brain which will help his vision later in life as well. He ended up with a similar strength of prescription, but different in each eye. He also put the prescription into the test glasses and my son could read the small letter on the screen straight away - even though his pupils had been dilated by the eye drops so everything would have been blurry.
He's looking forward to getting his glasses though, which is good, and he's been wearing his Harry Potter dressup glasses almost non-stop for the last few days!
Here's a couple of pics from book week on Thursday. He is obsessed with this costume and doesn't want to take it off lol. His little friend was dressed as Mario, and they had an absolute blast!

Karen, I hope she has a great senior year.
Christie, your son is so cute!! Collin wore the same glasses for a bit...I'll find the picture.
This past weekend was hard for us and NO WALKING!! I'm so bummed about that but glad I could help Sara. She was having back issues, and picking up Collin was too hard for her. They had Ronan's birthday party Sunday. They had to cancel the first one they had scheduled because they all got sick. I mostly had Collin Duty so I was okay. I won't get to walk until this coming weekend unless it cools off around here...maybe??? We'll just have to wait and see.

So...As you all know, I have not been able to walk during the week since having Collin Duty at Sara's or over here. But...but...but...I have arranged with my sweet husband to get an hour of walking done early in the morning on Tuesdays and Thursdays!!! I did it this morning...3.31 miles in 63 mins!! Up at 6:00, out the door at 7:00, home by 8:00. Collin drop off is 7:45, so it works out pretty nicely. I'll settle for that during the week...it's getting some miles done...and do my longer walks on the weekends. I'm pretty happy!! :D
