My September Experiment: Effects of Step Count on Weight

So, my experiment for the 30 days of September will be to determine what the effects of step count will be on my weight.

I will endeavor to AVERAGE at least 8,000 steps per day for the entire month of September. This will be a challenge given my current schedule; but I feel it is a worthy challenge. Thus, the AVERAGE specification. Thus, 8K rather than 10K. 8K is still a lot of steps.

I will track this in the Walking It Off thread rather than having a dedicated thread for it as I did for the Intermittent Fasting. I would be posting my steps in the Walking thread anyway.

I’m recalling that 6000-8000 steps is the inflection point where the benefits of steps for health purposes diminishes. Good luck with this! 👍🏻

Especially for those of us over 65. I'm not worrying about doing 10K anymore. My new norm is also 6-8K.
I pulled my left glute this morning, and am resting it, for the most part. Still managed to finish up with 7 of 12 hours over 250 steps, but as of now, only have @3500 steps total for the day. "C'est la vie"

Ah, but you’re still going at it, @Al_Howard! Yeah, I remember straining a hamstring in April; walking became a challenge rather than a goal for a while. Hope you feel better quickly. 👍🏻
