Here is your Team chat room for September 2023. This is where you weigh in, post your goals and progress, discuss any issues or topics of interest, share ideas, support your teammates, receive help when you need it, and dream big. Try to post often, and help each other succeed! Bookmark this thread to make it easy to land there any time.

HOW IT ALL WORKS: The Septemberchallenge runs for 4 weeks, from September 3 - 30. F2F months always start on a Sunday and end on a Saturday, so adjust your calendars!

Everyone weighs in weekly on their chosen day right here in the team chat. At the end of each week, the tallies are done to determine the team and individuals with the most weight lost. The best losers are announced with full fanfare every Sunday. The team competition is all in good spirits - may the most losing win!

We also celebrate those small, steady losses. If you lose, however small an amount, you are in the green! At the end of the month, we celebrate everyone who lost at least a bit every week. You are heading steadily towards your goal even if you aren't at the top of the weight loss leaderboard.

To make your weigh-in easy to find for your team Captains, please put it right at the top of a message, and use this format:
Weigh In Day:
PW (Previous Weight):
CW (Current Weight):

If you miss two weigh-ins in a row without asking for a break, you will be dropped from the team, so be sure to inform your team captain if you are traveling, sick, or just need some time off. If you want a break, you can be excused for a week or two, or are moved to the Support Team for as long as you need to. You still participate in the discussions, you can weigh in if you want to, but it will not count in the weekly tally. Don't worry! You can always come back even if you get dropped.

Once you reach your goal weight, you join the Goal Zone. You continue to weigh in every week. If you have 2 weeks above your self-defined goal zone, you go back to the regular team to lose that amount before it builds up. You will have a chance to hone those maintenance skills and stick with your team.

In addition to your own team, there are weekly F2F Full Group CHALLENGES. You can do all or none - it's up to you. Participating adds a lot to your success, so we hope to see you there often! These can involve anything fitness, health, or nutrition - and they’ll get you moving, thinking, and learning about this journey. Check the Announcements section for full group challenges.

Let’s show our fellow challengers some F2F love! Introduce yourselves right away, and let the new month begin!!

    Just a quick introduction:

I am Linda and I am one of the team captains. I am married, have 3 adult children and 4 granddaughters. I have 2 very fat cats named Nick and Lady. I like to play cards, read, do puzzles and spend time with my grandchildren.

I have been on my weight loss journey for awhile and have lost 90 pounds. I am eager to reach 100 pounds lost and would like to get there by the end of the year. Once there, I will decide on if I want to lose anymore weight. My fitness has been very hit and miss for the last 6 months. I am limited mostly to the pool as I have back issues. I also deal with neuropathic pain and have venous problems in my right leg. Pain management has become a full time job but I will not let it get me down. 💪💪💪

    My September goals:
    1. Increase my steps to 4000
    2. Swim 3 times a week
    3. Do mini walks minimum 2 times per week
    4. Stick to my weekly calorie average
    5. Lose 2 pounds (.5 pounds per week)

Hi, I am Lisa. I am 57 years old, 5'5" tall and I live in Tillsonburg, Ontario. I am married with two grown sons. One son lives in town here with his girlfriend, and the other is single and lives in Zurich, Switzerland. We have a family farm supply business that I work very, very part time at, filing invoices and stuffing and mailing monthly customer statements. I damaged my knee at the end of May and by the end of June I had given up. However, losing weight would be the single greatest thing I could do to help my knees, my feet, and any other body part that is screaming at me at any given moment!! And on top of that, my son is probably going to propose to his girlfriend at Christmastime, and I do not want to be this size in the wedding photos!!

September is my favourite month, and fall is my favourite season. Let's do this!!

For every pound lost is 4 pounds of pressure off your knee. If you find out that your knee is from arthritis, the Arthritis society of Canada has some great resources. They have lots of seminars, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, etc that are available at no cost. In fact, Ontario is the only province to pay for these services.

    Steps: 4,505

My week in review: bad! I gained and fell a day short on my exercise goal. That’s behind me and it’s a start to a new week.

I am making jiggs dinner today. It is a Newfoundland dinner that I love but don’t cook too often as the salt makes me retain water. It’s been in soak since lunchtime yesterday at lunch time so hopefully it will add flavour but not too salty. I brought back enough of the meat to be able to make it 4 times. It is so good.

I am headed to the pool for a swim. Have a great Sunday!

    Hello,

Looking forward to September and what this month will bring. I love this time of year and all the changes that come with it in nature. I think it's a beautiful time of the year and a new beginning overall.

Been struggling with my weight most of my life. Being 60 and having a lot of health issues, makes it even harder to lose weight. However, I'm more determine than ever to get this excess weight off and hopefully improve my overall health and the way I live my life.

Stepped on my scales this morning and found out they no longer work. Got on Amazon and ordered a new talking scale (vision impaired). Hopefully, they will arrive before my weigh-in day Friday.

Hope, everyone has a great holiday weekend and much success in the September challenge.

I’ve put on 16 pounds since April. I looked back at a graph and saw the moment I started to put the weight back on.

It directly coincides with the beer festival I went to for my sister’s birthday. Add to it, a long weekend camping at a NASCAR race in Sonoma, backed by an even longer week camping in Mendocino.

    Fun, Fun, Fun.

The lesson: alcohol and Michelle should not be friends
