Looks like I never checked in yesterday. Did another late afternoon walk yesterday, more like a stroll. Drove around looking for somewhere to go, ended up in Birch Hill Dam flood control area, a wilderness that used to be populated till the Army Corps cleared it out and built a dam. Now a great hunting and fishing spot, with a nice river I paddle now and then. Saw a deer and strolled around a beaver pond there. Almost got stuck on a 4X4 road with 8” deep mud puddles and no way to turn around. Not RAV4 terrain. Might go back soon to paddle with my friend Dave.
Dave, good luck with your back treatment. Hope it helps.
Steve, do you still use CPAP? I know you were on it, then off it, then back on it?…
Bill, can’t imagine your frustration with the back treatment back and forth… hang in there.
Lee, enjoy the NYC visit. There’s a foot bridge up the river my DB tells me was the longest in the world. In Pauling, NY maybe?
Hiking with an old college friend later this morning; supposed to rain all day… He’s 77 and goes to the gym 2x’s a week.
I seem to wake up at 5, no matter what time I go to bed. Time for coffee...0 -
Good morning!
My sleep quality has been fair. I do still use a CPAP. I use nasal cushions. If I use a full mask, I find it very uncomfortable to sleep. The problem has been that with allergies, I get clogged up, and then it is a challenge to use the CPAP. I'm finding that I only use it half the night or less. That's not working either. It may be time that I go back to the full mask for a while?
Lots going on at work this week. I'm enjoying it. I wish I were retired, but as long as work is enjoyable, I'll keep after it for a bit.
Prayers for all of you. Have a great day!0 -
Good morning gentlemen.
We drove over to the Olympics yesterday afternoon and linked up with DS and family to watch them rock climbing - even the kids. Had to scramble several hundred feet up a steep slope to get to the cliff where they were climbing. It was sport climbing - on routes that have anchors already bolted into the rock. The lead climber (DS) attached the rope to the anchors as he goes up then hooks the rope to an anchor at the top. I'd love to do this stuff, if I was 40 years younger. After the climbing, we drove into the national park and took a pleasant 2 1/2-mile little hike. My hip and leg didn't hurt much, in contrast to the pain I felt all week in Vegas. Weird.
Going to be a cool day, today: 67 and cloudy. More fall-like all the time.

Good Morning
Dave, could the difference in your hip & leg yesterday vs Vegas be from walking on concrete all the time while there?
I sat in on a virtual jam session yesterday with the dulcimer group. I was terrible but the point of that gathering is to get over it, relax and work on it. I didn't know many of the songs and struggled to remember all the chords. But I am glad I went and logged some practice time in the evening. I seem to be making some good progress but have a long way yet. But it is enjoyable again. Got some serious study time in and a few chores as I attempt to get moving despite the round the clock pain pill regimen I am on. We are planning on going to the movies this afternoon if I am able. Biggest risk is that I will doze off at some point. We will watch Big Fat Greek Wedding 3, which Heather is looking forward to.

Glad your hip and leg don't hurt as much Dave!! Yeah I use to rock climb some myself. Some super easy small places in Yosemite (no big climbs) and Tahquitz Rock near Idyllwild Calif. My son is a very good rock climber, much better than I ever was. I find standing around hurts my knee and hip a lot more than my usual wetland stroll with my DW.
I need to see a massage therapist to take care of my neck which has been bothering me for quite awhile now.0 -
Good Afternoon,
Yoga class this morning,
Need to go to drug store to pickup prescription for DW, then post office to mail stuff for lodge.
Nothing else planned.
Tomorrow needs to look at several houses for "Neighborhood Missions".0 -
Afternoon gents.
I was thinking the same thing about the concrete, Bill, but the decided it had to be Sassy.
Living the dream.
Be OP ;-)0
