I’m new here but have been using MFP since 2009ish. Diagnosed T2D in 2012. Was on 2000 mg Metformin. Could never quite get consistent with anything.

After reading about diabetes in remission via rapid weight loss and muscle gain, I started running to lose fat and doing complex lifts to bulk up after. MFP really keeps me accountable to my diet goals. I just went off meds last year. Most recent HbA1c was 7.5%. Seeing a new endocrinologist. He has decreased my meds to Dapagliflozin. We’ll see how it goes. First goal is below 7%, more weight loss, more muscle gain.

    I think in some ways the decision to take charge and not just count on the doctor and meds to manage things is a watershed for people.
