And so it goes. This week my weight has swung from the lowest it has been in a while (128.2) to 130.4 the very next day with no logical reason. Sodium, intake, activity--everything okay. So I'm fine with today's number.

Sheesh, first let me add that I am sending up prayers that your newest grandbaby will arrive much more toward her delivery date. I know the premature contractions has created a lot of stress for your daughter and her hubby and for you and yours, too. So I'm sending good thoughts to all. My sister's second son was born very early and was so small he hardly looked human. But today he's like a linebacker--6'3" and weighs well over 200 pounds. Who would have thought. And I'm glad to hear that your test results were good. I will weigh in later about getting rid of spider veins.

Lois, you have so much patience and energy with Miss Rhea. I get tired just thinking about trying to keep up with her energy. But isn't five a good age? :) Hope work has slowed down a little and that the new system is well along its way.

We FINALLY got the car back on Friday. So now hubby is planning two days of hunting on his friends farmland, then a trip to his cousin's in PA (all this in October), and then he will return to PA the Friday after Thanksgiving for a few days. In the fall, when he's in hunting mode, I know to just accept it and mostly leave him alone as the prep is part of the enjoyment. And prep means that the rec room in the basement is covered with outdoor stuff. I don't like clutter, so I have to take a lot of deep breaths!

The freezer part of the frig is still humming along well, so at least that is good. The HVAC guys are here again today. The part was covered under the warranty, but the cost will be determined on whether the fix affects the coolant and a lot has to be replaced. Could be as high as $4,000 before it's all over. I'm crossing my fingers that it's NOT the worse case scenario.

I was so tired last night I was cross-eyed. I didn't sleep well Monday night and I had to be up early because my class was being observed by a county recreation department representative. And then I told hubby I would make a big batch of homemade vegetable beef soup so he could take some to the farm tomorrow to have for lunch, plus have a lot to leave behind. His friend's wife was diagnosed with a rare type of colon cancer about a year ago and is still struggling with her health. So between class, shopping, cooking and cleaning, I kept going from 7 a.m. until midnight.

The class observation went well, although one of the other instructors (Deb) dropped out at the last minute. She had applied for a job with the FAA, thought she was not going to get it and agreed to one of the main instructors, but learned last Thursday (during our class) that she is being offered the job. We asked her to let her new employer know that she already had a commitment Tuesday so we could do our usual routine for the observation. Since we hadn't heard from her, the other instructor and I thought she had made those arrangements. But then a half hour before the class started, she sent a text saying she would not be able to make it. That did not leave us time to really work out how to divide the exercises, but we did okay. The woman from tohe county recreation department who did the observation met with us after class and said that it was one of the best classes she has attended. She really praised us on our form and how we interact with the participants. Now we have a second observation from a national person coming up. Dear god, you'd think we were training Olympic athletes instead of senior citizens!

Looking forward to hearing from everyone. Kelly, if you're getting a chance to read, I've loved seeing your cabin pictures and I'm so excited for you.

Thank you for the well wishes for my daughter. She has been more careful and hasn't had another episode <3 Her hubby and I are turning into nags about it. I text her every morning and when it takes her a while to respond I get nervous, but I understand she has to work. I had them come for dinner on Sunday and they had my step grand too. We had a nice time, and the 2 year old is a riot! She loves to dance in my gym and play with the balls, get on the treadmill and pretend to run, lol. We have a pond and stream in our neighborhood, and there are ducks. She found out that feeding them is really fun. :D We played the kid version Family Feud with the 11 year old. So all had a fun visit.

Well, at least I'm doing my usual quarter pound in a week . . I can't seem to lose any faster than that without being too hungry. I read an article in the local paper about how pickle ball has increased in popularity so fast, and that Utahns play it more than any other state. Some Apple Watch users here participated in a study of their health data after taking up the sport that was then submitted to a research hospital. The results of the study were very positive, and showed improved health, fitness, and mental health. Hubby and I have talked about trying it. We have so many friends who participate, and we need (especially hubby) more activity, during the winter especially because golf is off the table (hubby plays at least once a week). We're going to buy a beginner kit, and I'll get back to you on what I think. Racquetball doesn't get my HR up much, and it has proved to be dangerous to my head, lol. He and I played nine holes of golf Monday . . my trainer is out of town this week. Golf doesn't get my HR up either.

Sarah, congratulations on being and staying in the 120s . . you're my role model. And, good for you with the class review! You're going to be a pro fitness instructor. I know what you mean about the clutter for hunting. My hubby doesn't hunt anymore, but he goes on that Alaska fishing trip, and you wouldn't believe the planning and mess it takes before they finally go. They have to take their food with them in big coolers. I've always avoided getting involved with it, but it's all he talks about for months before, and the fishing lures, waders, vests, food prep, he doesn't do any thank goodness, but gets involved with planning, coolers, etc. Lordy, I'm always relieved when they finally go. Then there's the mess when he comes back . . . . Glad your car is back and freezer is good. I'll keep fingers crossed for inexpensive HVAC fix.

Lois, your little Rhea is full of energy <3 So cute. And it sounds like hubby will be able to go to Disney over Thanksgiving, so I'm glad his back seems to be better with him teaching a fitness class.

Well, I just looked at the clock and I must run! I'll check back later.

Holding. Super crazy busy. Sorry I'm so late checking in. Work is insane after taking Monday off with Rhea. I was exhausted on Friday and could not look at the computer. my friend who has been helping me with the house is having surgery today and she had to cancel, so I had quite a bit of housecleaning to attend to....it's so funny that I've gotten so used to the help. Also, I somehow kicked a chair and that split my big toenail in half - so hubby had to super glue it together. We'll be applying it every other day to keep it stuck so I don't have to have surgery to remove the damn thing. We're 31 days from Disney. God Bless It!!

Hubby's work is moving this week and Saturday afternoon was spent there watching the last black belt ceremony at the original location. My son came up and there were about 20 other former students who received their black belts there and attended like a homecoming dance. Hubby now has to drive twice as far to work. Buahaha...it's literally another mile down the road and two lights. Our weather is still in the high 90's. This morning was nice at 68 but it's 11 am and 83... Today's high is supposed to be 85.
It doesn't really cool down here until November.

Sarah - I saw you got the car back and hubby's making his plans- CONGRATS
Sheesh - keep that daughter down.... so fortunate you're able to help her as needed.

OK back to work.... crazy morning

Sarah - great job on the class review!!! Form is so important so happy to hear that is your focus.

Sheesh - pickleball is all the rage over here. SO many pickleball courts now. I think they've taken over the tennis courts. Given my situations I have not yet ventured into pickleball but several of my friends have invited me to try it out with them once I'm healed enough of course. Given the pivoting I used to do in tennis and my achilles is still tight, I'm not sure I'm going to venture it. In Cali I played tennis all of the time. I stopped shortly after moving here as it was just too dang hot.

You two are an inspiration for me. Just in case you weren't aware. I've thrown in the towel in a sense about reducing my weight. I'm now just eating the plan food because it's easy and I figured out how to do it with the right amount of Imodium. The past two weeks, I alone (I think I did it mostly alone) polished off a small bag of Mother's animal cookies. I'd have 4-5 at a time but the bag is now empty. I opened it with Rhea and she had several (I counted her six, but I know she had more than that...she was sneaky). I'm at the point where I'm not really willing to do what it takes to reduce my size. And I think that's part of why I'm not as active on here. You two are doing great and you are inspiring me to stay a bit more focused than I really feel. Anyhow, I just reordered more of the Optavia. Maybe once I'm back from Disney I can figure out a better plan. Until then, I'm plodding along.

We may be putting up the tree this weekend to get a start on the holiday decorating. Going to go slow so we can take everything back to storage on the 12th and just focus on outside.

So sorry ladies! I'm here. Life has been a bit nutso, as per normal. But I'm still around!

Both kids are back in hockey full force. Our daughter pretty much only has 1 day a week off, since she plays high level hockey. She was also made Captain of her team this year, so we're super proud. Our son plays a level lower, but he'll be 16 on Tuesday and he's playing U18. It's a hitting league.

On top of hockey, there's work and school, plus the cabin and the pup. I have to admit that I haven't been paying much attention to myself lately again. I've fallen off the workout wagon and both Shawn and I haven't been eating great. I find that this time of year, when it's starting to get cold, we end up eating comfort food more. I'm not sure if its cause our bodies want to bulk up for winter or what. We both agreed it's time to get back at it and make working out a priority. We're also both sick of feeling bloated all the time, so some changes in eating are needed. I haven't weighed myself in I don't know how long, but I'm sure I'm in the 150's or even 160's, as I can tell by my clothes.

The cabin is great! We have some issues with getting the woodstove certified and insured, so hopefully that won't cost thousands. We're actually planning to head out there today or tomorrow for a few days, as I took a couple of vacation days. Hubby wants to get the garage insulated, so I'll help him with that. The only thing holding us back is the weather. We're supposed to get our first snowfall starting this afternoon until Friday. Driving with furniture in the trailer we're pulling will be interesting, so we're playing it by ear.

My birthday this year was low key. I spent the day with my dog, as the kids were at their Mom's and Hubby was working. I did get to see my daughter play hockey though. On this past Friday, Hubby and I went to the musical "Jagged Little Pill" , which was awesome. I loved Alanis Morrisette back in the day.

Ok.. just a quick update as I'm working. I'll go back and read what I have missed.
    I miss you guys <3
