Great photo Mike! First time I think I have seen your face fully exposed. Usually you are bundled up to ward off extreme weather. You are a handsome fella.
Should have known you guys had already tried the lidocaine patch therapy. Sorry it didn't help. Glad it helped Bob's wife's cracked ribs.
Lazy day planned. DS#2 coming for dinner and gift exchange. Video chat with remote family. Might take the dogs for a walk around the neighborhood this morning.
Brisket is great Christmas fare. I am smoking a deboned prime rib roast. Roasting the bones on the side. Removing the bones gives the smoke and rub more surface to create flavor. It also allows you to remove a lot of the seam fat that most people don't like to see on their plate.
Hoping all have a wonderful day, full of family, friends, and good food.

    Be OP ;-)

    Merry Christmas!

I am planning a 5:00 p.m. Christmas meal, as our son will be late coming home from Church. He has chosen to go Eastern Orthodox, and they will have a longer service today. I will be cooking an 8 pound honey baked ham, yams, green rice casserole, rolls, cole slaw, and sides. We will likely have an evening gift exchange. It will just be the three of us.

    Awesome picture, Mike.

    Merry Christmas!

Good morning and Merry Christmas gentlemen.

Had a really nice service at church last night, even though I didn't like the major piece the choir sang (I don't like Mendelson). Got home and found Sassy had reached much farther over the kitchen counter than we thought she could. She ate a wrapped pita bread, a large slice of banana bread and four peanut butter cookies, with embedded Hershey's Kisses. She shows no ill effects from the chocolate, but I only gave her half her usual breakfast. Guess no open spot in the kitchen is safe.

DS, DDIL and grandkids are coming over this afternoon, not sure what time. We'll have supper at a normal time, I suppose. Everything will already be cooked and just needs to be warmed. What was life like without microwaves?

Wishing you all a peaceful, quiet day full of love and joy.

    Merry Christmas Gentlemen!

We had our doubts but ready for Christmas 2023. I finished the floors and reorganizing the living room in the afternoon. We scaled much of it back choosing not to unpack boxes. Just a small tree and stockings. But even the little 3 foot artificial tree moved from being a side decoration to center stage still looks wonderful up on the old hope chest surrounded by the gifts. For the first time in several year's we went driving to look at Christmas lights. Today will be a relaxed day with just the 4 of us. It has been a strange Christmas season for me on several counts. I did a longer 40 day advent this year which was a blessing. I am looking forward to a relaxing day and the 4 of us sitting around joking with each other as we open gifts. Next year in Florence Oregon!
