Hi everyone, I am 54 year old mom of 5 grown and almost grown kids. I have always tipped out at 200-220lbs but a doctor’s visit in November revealed that I was 264 lbs with dangerously high blood pressure. Since then I got my act into gear, got a nutritionist, joined a pickleball club and have lost 7 pounds (not much I know but it’s still progress). I am looking for accountability, support and helpful tips. I just put in my request to join the “Ultimate Accountability” challenge for February which I am hoping will help me stay on track and keep on losing pounds.

Welcome to our little corner!
I hope that your nutritionist is a Registered Dietician (RD). If not, take their guidance with a grain of salt. Anyone can claim to be a nutritionist. I even make that claim, and while I have a clue, I have no formal training.
Use all the tools on MFP to manage your food intake. The exercise will be great for improving your fitness, and it's extremely likely your blood pressure will respond to being more fit.
Take it slow. Celebrate your success. Don't let the inevitable speed bumps knock you off course. Just keep sticking to it!

@mtaratoot - thank you for the advice. Yes - my nutritionist is registered and came on the recommendation of my family doctor. She has been great! I credit her guidance with the small success I have had so far and my BP has shown marked improvement (although it can still use improvement). My pickleball is giving me some activity (about 1 hour a day) but not every game is super active. I usually need two games a day to get to my goal of 10,000 steps. I am looking forward to more improvements this week!1
