From where do you draw your health inspiration? From a specific person? Persons? An organization? A book? A show? Or, is there something within that inspires you to keep after it?

Turned 50 in Nov. That milestone has started building an urgency in me to look at being more healthy and really getting rid of some/all of this excess weight.3

Fear? Perhaps fear is my inspiration.
I’ve seen people disabled by heart disease and stroke, and the families that are burdened (my wording, not theirs) with their care. I’ve seen the loss of dignity and self-determination visited on people in nursing homes, including some good homes. I’ve also got cardiac history on both sides of my family.
So my choices are motivated less by inspiration driving me towards an ideal, and more by desperation driving me away from a future I fear.

Type 2 Diabetes. I have that diagnosis, and it's totally under control (A1c 5.0-5.3 over a 4 year stretch). Was MUCH higher in 2010, when I was at 335#. Down to 220# now, and NO MEDS, for that.2

I'd say that Mrs. 0mania is an important inspiration for me. She keeps a pretty healthy lifestyle herself, which is important. However, perhaps most importantly, I want to be around with her for as long as possible (and not be a burden, to the extent possible, as well).1

Fear! I had HBP, sleep apnea complete with CPAP, debilitating back pain & a seemingly permanent cough. All through gaining 100lbs I weighed regularly. But I held just under 185 until I didn’t. But although the scale said 185 what I saw was 300 lbs. it was going to happen. We had 2 little kids.
About the same time it occurred to me that a stroke was probably more likely than a heat attack. I found that even scarier. I was going to do the New Year resolution thing. But I wasn’t sure I would make it. I started on Christmas Day 1994. So fear.2 -
