@Tabatha_Cain , Hey congrats on the raise!! Did I ever tell you what happened years ago at the grocery store with a rise for a lady who have us the barely mininium? My boss had me go upstairs, FULLY expecting her to have a total fit!! She was getting a 5 CENT RAISE!! Mine was $1 an hour(I was lower management and from 3 to 11:30 at night I had more responsibility than the day timers). We had her sit down, and he told her "You'll be getting a 5 cent raise." She immediately smiled and said "I didn't even expect that!" We were so FLOORED neither of , we were both quite chatty, could not even process she was OKAY WITH IT!! LOLOL to this day I laugh and laugh so hard when I think of it. She continued "I try to not work at all." WELL that just silenced us that much more!! I had bumped into her a few years ago the 2 of us were laughing so hard at it!!
I agree with you a spouse should also get bereavement pay also!! That's so strange!! GLAD you do though!! Will Joe take a PTO? Our thoughts will be with you.

I hope you are all doing well this morning. Today is Wednesday and it is going to be an interesting day. My bosses bosses boss is coming to our office today, and I am leaving early for the viewing for my Aunt and tomorrow is the funeral. Joe did take PTO to be off with me. I am so glad they were willing to approve his PTO. It was so weird that they were telling him he does not get anything for my aunt. Like that is close family to me. Why would my husband not get that off? I am going to be a mess, but his department when he told them approved his time off immediately. Without even questioning. I will make sure that he gets one of the funeral papers so he has that to show he was there.
@Kurtize - We got a high of 52 yesterday. It was really nice.
@Dianedoessmiles1 - Yes, Joe took PTO for Thursday. So we will be off work with me. I am so glad he will be home. I know I am going to be a mess. My aunt was my favorite on my Dad's side of the family. I just will not know what to do, once I see her in that casket. It is going to be so rough.

Happy afternoon. Today we put together the new cushioned chairs and table for our porch. We did it without any big arguments. Took about 2 hours. We ordered them from Amazon. It is 82 right now but the breeze keeps it from feeling that hot.

@Tabatha_Cain , I am glad that Joe was able to take PTO. It great that is company immediately understood as any of us would. It's just the way the law is. I'm sure it had to be this strict because people were taking extreme advantage of it. But it's Great he has it off. I have two or I had two favorite aunts. One passed away last year. I did go to her funeral course. But I would not absolutely would not go up to the casket. Only one person asked me if I wanted to when I shook my head no saying "no thank you. Aunt E & I agreed that we both wanted me to always remember her the way I saw her the last time. She was laughing and having a great time." No one is going to say anything if you tell them that. I am being cremated so that nobody have to remember that. Especially my granddaughter. She will have an extremely hard time anyways. Unless I piss her off before that!! Lololol But I would never hurt that way. Just take it moment by moment. I always think of the things we enjoyed. Don't bring me comfort and I hope it does you too. Why make it harder on yourself if you don't have too

Tomorrow I'm having X-rays on my back. I think I may have a small fracture. I'll find out. Is something that hurts a whole lot and it's not muscle and it's not nerves. It's not a whole lot left. But all of you if you have not had a Dexter scan, Please check with your doctor and your insurance to see if you can. If osteoporosis writing your family or osteopenia please please get this checked. We caught mine early It doesn't make any difference for me but it might be you. I've been going through this since I was in my late 40s.1 -

I hope everyone is doing well this morning. Today is Thursday and today I will not be going to work. Today is my Aunt's funeral. Last night was the viewing. I did good. I did not cry. Although I could not go up to the casket because I just know I would lose it then. So I told Joe I did not want to go up there. I couldn't. He respected that. Tomorrow we will be at the funeral home and then the graveside so I am hoping things will not make me lose it while all that is going on. Then afterwards we have the luncheon.
@Kurtize - Those are so cute. Way to go.
@Dianedoessmiles1 - Last night at the viewing I could not go up to the casket either. I know once i go up there I won't stop crying. Right now I can just pretend everything is ok. I did look at my aunt from a distance so I do get she is passed and I am not in denial. I just cannot be right up on her. I hope everything goes well from your xray. I have to start telling my doctor we have a serious history for heart disease. My aunt died from heart issues, her son at the age of 38 had a widow maker heart attack. He obviously died. So that is something I just never thought of as important. I assume it is now.

Happy Thursday. We ordered a new gas grill BBQ a small one that will fit on porch. Coming on Saturday, they will also be putting it together. Not much else new. Today 62,yesterday in 80's crazy. Have a good rest of the day, hugs and blessings.

@Tabatha_Cain , How did today go? Did they have a gathering after for you all? I find those help when it's someone I really love. The laughter, the stories of them, often we hear things we didn't know and it's heartwarming, at other times it's just horribly funny, and of course some sad. Still it's helpful. I totally get the not going up to the viewing it's to much. I was forced to a few years ago for a very dear friend. My cats name is Izzy and my friend was called Izzy. Izzy (human) LOL teased the kitty before Izzy, horribly, so I named this Izzy (cat) and so Izzy (Human wouldn't tease her , now Izzy (Human) didn't hurt Princey at all with the teasing. It was a cute teasing, but still!! I didn't want to view Izzy (Human) up close, I wanted to remember her the way I saw her the last few times when we said goodbye to each other. She knew she would die.
@Kurtize, GOOD IDEA to have them put it together!! Our last one we bought for here was pretty neat!! We decided to buy an end of the year model! It was already put together and QUITE the discount!! I was the President of the council everyone loved how much we saved. Me? I LOVE it came all put together!! We had a truck with us that was nice too!! SMART MOVE Joyce!! It's looking so nice!1 -

I hope you are all doing well this morning. Today is Friday and it is going to be a good day. The funeral yesterday was good and so was the luncheon. It really did help. We talked about Aunt Jean so much. It is so sad that her Husband my Uncle is not doing well either. She was taking care of him after his stroke this past summer. She cannot walk well and he is really in rough shape. I assume he will be the next to go. Which is sad. That will totally break my cousins I am sure.
@Kurtize - It is rough when the weather is a yoyo lately. I hope it is nice enough to get your grill and be able to use it.
@Dianedoessmiles1 - Yesterday went well. I never went too close to her body. I just couldn't. I saw her from a distance that was good enough for me. The pastor said some things that were great and really put some things in perspective for me. It was a great service and we had a good get together afterwards. I stayed at the luncheon after for about an hour.

good morning, everyone! it is a nice, beautiful sunny day here today. my daughter says hi to all. she is working at her part time job today. my fiance says hello and thanks for all the well wishes. he is doing really well. both budgie birds are doing well and say cheep, cheep! i went for a short run earlier this morning and i really enjoyed it. i did my strength training workout a while ago. i will be going for a long walk after lunch. i will be doing some dancing later on. have a great day, everyone! take care and stay safe.0

@Tabatha_Cain -glad all went well with the funeral and that Joe could come with you. I think they are so strict on bereavement leave b/c so many people aren't honest about it. They will say they have relatives that they don't actually have just to get the time off.

I had my scans today on my parathryoid. THey did pick up on one that has a tumor? Seems so! Next is the surgeons office to call set up when we will talk either on the phone or in person. After that surgery day! And I can finally start to feel better!1 -

I hope you are all doing well this morning. Today is Saturday and we are going to be Door Dashing all day today. My back is killing me from yesterday. So I figured out that when I eat pizza like pizza from not our made at home stuff I get all swollen and hurting. It is bad. We just grabbed local pizza so I could get Door Dashing last night and it is the first time I feel like crap in a long time. I ate a lot of bread. So we typically use a cauliflower crust that has been frozen and then we add the low sugar pizza sauce and low fat ingredients and it tastes so good. It is like a thin crust pizza and we are fine the next day. Well I am so out of wack today. I think we are going to avoid actual restaurant made pizza. Ugh even my husband was saying he would rather have the healthier option and he is the pizza guru.
@cormierannie - So glad your fiance is doing well. I love beach walking. It is so nice with the warm sand.
@bookieNJ - Yeah probably. I mean it has to be rough trying to prove all that. However my Dad's name is listed as her brother in her Obituary. So it wouldn't be hard to get proof and since I am telling the truth I have no issue supplying the proof that she was my aunt.
@Kurtize - I have not been trusting the weatherman either.
@Dianedoessmiles1 - Thank you. I know she would not want me to be upset. I am sorry you have to have surgery. It stinks, but I am glad that after the surgery you will finally feel better.

@Tabatha_Cain, It's good to know that you CAN still eat pizza, because you found the cauliflour crust is much better for you as well as the low sugar sauce etc. That's so cool to realize! AND it saves you money and it's so much better for you!! GREAT JOB!!! I'm sure work knows you are honest. Sadly some aren't which is what makes it harder on others, and so many rules. I'll go through the pain of surgery to feel better. Now to find out when I first will meet with the surgeon who will explain things to me, and WOOHOO we go from there!! WOOHOO!!!0

Happy Saturday. We are not having BBQ today, Don has never worked a gas grill and he has some questions so going to store tomorrow and talk to them. The weatherman now says tomorrow may one of the warmest days for 2/25, not 24 hours ago a cold front was coming in. I can guess the weather better. LOL

@Kurtize, YUMMY Joyce!! I figure it's like using a gas stove, I have no issues with ours. I help to cook when we do the building BBQs. We usually cook 48 burgers, 48 hot dogs and 12 chickens! ALL in a span of 2 hrs and 30 mins! LOL It's so much SUPER FUN!! Next time we'll do some of the burgers at 11 they'll be done by 25 past , and the next bunch of 14 at noon along with 20 hot dogs! While they are grabbing those LOL We'll be ready with more!0

I hope you are all doing well this morning. Today is Sunday and I am so ready to be in person for church. This is one time that we are able to sit and watch church together and are not on cameras or in the children's wing. It will be so nice. Then we are going to stop and visit with Joe's parents and then stop at his daughter's apartment to drop off somethings. Then home to door dash some more. Things are going pretty well today. I am feeling really crappy, but that is to be expected with my hormones all over the place right now. Ugh I hate perimenopause. It is just so much fun.
@Dianedoessmiles1 - It is great that we have both figured out that we no longer want normal restaurant bought pizza. We would rather make our own at home. We need the healthy option.
@Kurtize - That is what I am saying. I feel like they are just looking outside and guessing rather than actually telling us what it will be. I remember at one time when I was younger if they said it was going to rain it actually rained and now it is like oh guess it didn't rain maybe we will have some rain. It is more unpredictable than ever before.

@Kurtize, Yo 80? That's just way too hot way too fast! Are you guys usually cold until about me ending March? We usually get snow through the month to March or at least come and possibly some in April. Oftentimes April was the month that we would get a really good blizzard. But as we know the earth has changed very greatly. I hope you enjoyed your evening.

I hope you are all doing well this morning. Today is Monday and it is back to work. Things are going well and it is going to be a good day. Today I get to teach the new kids in my position how to do something things that I have learned in the travel world and how to do things more efficiently. At AAA we do Triptiks. Which are basically a little book we create that you tell us where you are going and staying and any stops inbetween and we map it for you and put it into a book for you. That is free for members. We can mail it to you if you have 7-10 days before your trip or we can print it right there if you want to go soon or you just want it right away. So I get to teach all the new people how to do them correctly.
@Dianedoessmiles1 - We were able to drop things off where we needed to. It was a good Sunday. Not much for Dashing, but it was decent enough. I had stuff to do at home anyways so we cut out early and got it done. I was able to get laundry done and all that jazz from the weekend.
@Kurtize - It sounds so nice being in the 80's. I really cannot wait for that to happen more often. I love the warm weather.

@Tabatha_Cain , I love training people! It's a lot of fun. Sometimes the questions people will ask Don't just make me laugh so hard inside of myself but that's okay. Generally that's when I work with somebody that is under the age of 20. It's been a while since I've had to do that. I kind of missed it! Glad you were able to get so much done yesterday. I hope you are all doing well this morning. Today is Tuesday and it is going to be a great day. Today I am Door Dashing again this evening, but Joe is getting his haircut after work tonight. So we will be going out a little later than normal. Which is ok. That will give me a chance to get the food cooked. I am glad we have decided that we are not really going to eat out anymore. I really feel like that was not a good idea eating out twice in 2 days. It just was not worth it. Our tummies just could not handle all that grease and carbs. It was too much and it made us both feel sick for a couple of days. We are slowly starting to feel better. Which is good, cause now we know what not to do.
@Dianedoessmiles1 - Yeah I love teaching people. I wanted to be a teacher when I was in high school, but well I got pregnant at 18 and that pretty much ruined that idea. Now with all our debt I don't think I could go back to school, plus at this point in my life I can only handle little kids for so long. I actually love DoorDashing. I look forward to it every night. I check my rates every single day. I want to have great ratings.

@Tabatha_Cain. weirdly kids GIVE me energy!! it's always been that way. My GGSs were down on Sunday when they left after 2 hours, I had so MUCH energy it was funny!! GLAD you both have decided to not eat out. I NEED to reach that point, it'll be healthier, but for me I go because I love the company. On Sunday there's usually 4 to 7 of us who go out. Otherwise that group of people I am not with, and we have WAY to much fun!! LOL We sort of felt bad for the waitress having to have a group of 6 of us a few Sundays ago, it was so busy. I am sure she loved our 47% TIP!! OFF I GO!! ENJOY the night!! I agree with you if I were doing doordash, I'd be looking for the best reviews. Often if it's a poor review it's NOT the dashers fault, it's the place they ordered from doing it to early or not putting everything with the order.0

I hope you are all doing well this morning. Today is Wednesday and it is going to be a great day. Last night was rough. Storms rolled in around 10 pm and then at 12:30 we got woke up to the tornado sirens going off. Lots of wind, baseball sized hail, and rain, and wind. It was rough. My dog was freaking out. My son was messaging me. First huge storm he had been not living at home so he was freaking out. We made it through. As far as I know no serious damage. I will schedule someone to come look at the roof today, and I will see the cars when I go outside. We will see how it goes. It may be an expensive storm. I hope not, but you never know. It was pretty bad. I was able to get dashing done last night because I stopped doordashing around 9 pm last night.
@Dianedoessmiles1 - That is awesome. It is nice to have the extra energy. It is nice to go out and socialize. So I see that point. Sometimes 6 people is a lot for a server. I agree that most the time it is the restaurant. Last night though I took an order that the dasher told the customer he did not tip enough so the Dasher kept his food. I ended up delivering his remake. I felt so bad for him. That to me is bad also.

Hi all happy Wednesday. Not as windy as yesterday but cool. Last night the wind blew smoke smell and smoke from the fires here in TX. Today Don and I are celebrating our 60th wedding anniversary. No big plans we went to the Thai Chinese restaurant and made an order for take out for tonight. We also had a sign made up for our gate. Here is a picture.

@Tabatha_Cain , how did the day go? I HOPE no damage was done to your place? Any trees down? Cars damaged? Root/house okay? Your poor S it IS FREAKY when the sirens go off (In Maine our "tornados which NEVER used to happen are usually a F1 or straight line winds, which seem more damaging. A young girl died last year at a camp. Her parents thought they were safer in the car, and likely should of been, but a tree crashed down, she was only 10). If the dashers were paid more they would NOT have to depend on tips!! I say it lays with the companies who are so greedy they do not pay you all enough. Some customers can't drive, aren't well etc. when they order. Food costs so much more now, to HAVE to give a higher tip for a service they are paying for anyways, I understand it. Its hard both ways because the drivers deserve a good pay.

Good Morning Airport Friends:
I hope you are all doing well this morning. Today is Leap Day and it is Thursday. I am going to be working hard on getting any extra memberships that I can get today. Lets hope I can get some. There was no damage to mine or Joe's car from the hail yesterday. Today we have someone coming to look at the roof to make sure there was no damage there either. Last night the wind and cold was so bad. It was 24F outside but with the windchill it felt like 10F outside. So I did not doordash last night. Tonight I will not be dashing either as Joe and I will be heading to Dearborn, Michigan. My work got me a hotel room for there so I can be in person at the head quarters meeting tomorrow morning from 9 to 11 am. I requested to have the day off after that so I can explore that city and see what they have going. I will find out hopefully today if I have gotten it approved. Joe is going with me and will be staying in the hotel at the pool I am sure until it is time to check out. I believe check out is 11 am so he will check out and then come and get me from the meeting. I get paid mileage and one paid meal. So that is awesome.

@Dianedoessmiles1 - Well the day went well. No damage on the cars. About 20 miles south of us there was a tornado. I never even considered the tips. I never ask for extra tips. I want people rating me. The higher my rating the more orders I am able to get. The house roof is being inspected today at 10 am. So we will see how it goes. I am so sorry for that little girl. I only mentioned the tips because besides a 5 star review that is how people show appreciation. It is greatly appreciated, but even without those extra tips I would still do doordash. I actually love doing it. It is fun and gets me out of the house and spending time with Joe and my passenger Prince. It is great.
