Just in case you don’t see me on here I am busy dealing with my wife’s serious heath issues.
I try to log in daily as a reminder to NEVER QUIT.
I gained 10 Lbs post COVID but maintained my weight below 200.
Just FYI in case I disappear.

Sending good thoughts, Jim. Try to remember to take care of yourself during this time. It's easy to get rundown/eat on the fly when you're in caretaking mode.1

Here’s hoping your wife gets well soon. I’ll be thinking of you two.1

Family first . . . hope things go well with your wife.1

Thanks Guys,
I appreciate your support.
January DW diagnosis is a benign fibrous tumor, underneath armpit.
13 February we met with surgeon he told her outpatient surgery 27 March.
16 Feb DW conduct/behavior was so alarming 20 Feb I took her to her
PCP. Basic cognitive test to draw clock face and brief discussion on her memory issues. He ordered CT brain scan. Results of CT in and she needs an appointment for Neurologist…to determine stage of Dementia. Her day to day behavior ranges from normal to difficult to deal with.
This has been a life changing event.
I have family support, Our three sons (age 55, 50, 40)
Have all their support but not local. We live in Newport News VA they are in DC suburb, NYC and Philly.
GOAD and WW helped me go from 376 Lb in 2013 to GOAL 184 2018.
Thanks to Goads have kept me aware of NEVER being obese.
Maybe TMI but thought I would share to know what I’m dealing with daily.2 -
Not TMI; I can certainly sympathize with what you’re going through. My MIL went through dementia/Alzheimers, and it’s difficult to watch. It’s tougher when you don’t have support locally. Look into what the local community can provide in terms of activity, respite care, etc.
Clearly GoaD won’t be your highest priority, but we’d still be happy to see you pop in - even if it’s only to let off steam at some point.2 -
@crewahl Thanks, yes I have been in contact for local support agencies. The suddenness was shocking, BUT looking back there were signs. Easier to think she’s always been “eccentric”, she’s just different, and many OCD type
Behavior. Met her 1966, I was 18 she was 16, married 1969. It been quite a life, sad to see her this way. Currently she has good/normal times but each day (hour) can be different. Waiting to get appointment with Neurologist.3 -
Jim....My prayers are with you and your wife daily. Will be thinking about you. 😔🙏1

You and your family are in my heart, Jim. Come here just to vent, if need be. Caregiving is hard. You will always have our support.1

I can only imagine what you are going through Jim, but I know it's not that unusual as we age. I wish you and your wife the best possible outcome. I'll keep you in my prayers.1
