BLUF: Chickpea/Garbanzo Bean snacks

The good news is that roasting chickpeas is easy, and you can use canned chickpeas.

Drain, pat dry, roast in oven at 375F for 15 - 20 minutes, stirring them around halfway through. They will crisp further as they sit and cool.

I have done this myself. Very simple snack. Really nice to use spicy seasoning.

I was glad to see they included water as an essential component. With prostate issues, I was being “frugal” with my intake, and it did show up in some interesting ways. I’m doing between 35-40 grams of fiber per day, and 75-90 ounces of fluids (mostly water). That seems to be the sweet spot for a productive morning for me.

I also will do Chex Mix as an evening snack sometimes, which is a fairly fiber-dense snack. I’m concerned about chickpeas because legumes historically seem to generate other byproducts that your friends and family may consider less useful.

I love garbanzo beans as a snack. I generally roast them with a light olive oil coating.

I've tried at home, but the crunch didn't come close to the store-bought.

Try a higher temp, say, 425 degrees.

Do you use caned? If so, do you rinse before roasting?

I have used canned. I rinse, then pat dry with a paper towel, then apply seasoning.
