Hi all,
@vegan4lyfe2012 I've never tried vegan tuna, since I was never crazy about actual tuna, but the fake cheeses available in America are SO GOOD. Chao blew my mind! And Kite Hill! There are only a few options here I kind of like, but I think that's probably for the best given your experience with the Toona Melts. I have enough trouble watching my portions as-is.
We do have asparagus, though, and my favorite way to prepare it is to spritz with spray oil and generously top with Everything Bagel topping. In fact, I made it tonight.
I'm grateful I live in a neighborhood where kids can go wherever they like without fear. I'm grateful for the lively cultural scene in Bern, where there is always some interesting art, music or dance going on. And I'm grateful for the beautiful hiking paths that crisscross the country. @Katmary71 , here's a picture my husband took while we were hiking on Saturday (not the best photo, alas.)

I was worried I was gaining weight, so I skipped my evening bowl of fruit for a few days. Just that little change made a difference, and I really didn't miss it all that much.
My Cat Leo likes to hide in the cabinets when it's time for his medication, but Mr. Snicket does the same thing when its nap time and time for bed. We have to keep him separated from the other cats because he likes to play rough, and they don't like it. So, we keep him in my craft room at night.
My name is Kathryn, Kat for short and I live in southern California with my husband and 7 cats. I reached my goal weight December of 2022, and have been maintaining since. I track every day and count my calories; I also weigh my food because my eyeballs always give me more than what's allowed. I've been with MFP and with this group since 2022. This is a very supportive group of likeminded people. I usually only post once a week but I do read the board every few days.6 -
@AustinRuadhain Just get back to it you got this!
@megnolia82 I was wondering what Chicago mix was too, sounds very yummy! Your pasta sounds amazing yum! Yep that's about how I feel with pasta too. That tea sounds awesome!
@trooworld Thank you. I can understand not wanting to note ice cream, I'm glad the rest of the day was good. That Butter chicken sounds awesome.
@TeresaW2024 Aw enjoy that baby girl! Hope you cream the competition with that recipe this weekend!
@micaroo4 Sounds like a wonderful community! My parents are in an active senior community and love it, it's a lot how your neighborhood sounds.
@Divya365 I love hearing about your community and am glad your kids have others the same age to play with. My nephews don't have any kids in their court and it makes me sad as my brother and I had a lot of great neighbors growing up.
@vegan4lyfe2012 with asparagus I'm like you and love it in the oven at 400 with olive oil, salt and pepper, and parmesan cheese for about 7 minutes. I like it in pasta with a bunch of herbs and stir frys too.
@Artemis_2024 Your neighborhood sounds amazing! Such a beautiful photo, thank you for sharing!
@FushiaKat LOL too funny about the cats, I know you have a lot so they must really keep you on your toes! I always look forward to your posts on Tuesday.
HI team! I got my allergy shot this morning, after 5 more I can go to once a month which will be nice. Work was good today, I started working on the office files and put the final touches on the Self-Care information binder. Not much else to report, going to get some gardening time in. Have a great night and wonderful Wednesday!
No Zero Days- good day at work, great workout, eating on track and logged.3 -
Hi All!
It’s been a rough week. Started with the family finding out that my uncle (mom’s brother) unexpectedly passed away from a heart attack on the other side of the country. Then this morning my oldest dog had an episode that I’ve never seen. Thought she was having a seizure. Thankfully after a full work up at vets it was the doggy version of vertigo. Could be a one time thing or if it reoccurs could have some underlying health issue. I’m going with a one time thing. Needless to say I’ve not been eating the best.
Hope everyone else is having a good week! Will check in later.

@TeresaW2024 I have 6 total visits before the surgeon submits the paperwork to the insurance company for the insurance company's approval. This coming Monday's appointment will be the 5th. Yes, the butter chicken was already made (I guess it was in the refrigerated section, I ordered pick up because I didn't want to go in lol). It's not bad calorie-wise: 180 cals for 5 oz. Then, add in some rice and a side of veggies, my total meal came to 333 cals. Congrats on the loss! Taco pizza sounds good.
@vegan4lyfe2012 The Toona melts sound yummy! 3.1 lbs from the next decade? Woo hoo! Go, Jennifer! Asparagus...I usually do as you do and sprinkle either parmesan or lemon zest on the asparagus, however, I made this recipe and it was really good: Pesto Pasta with Arugula, Asparagus, Peas, and Pistachios https://www.skinnytaste.com/pesto-pasta/ It's a Skinnytaste recipe, so not bad on the nutrition. Wow, 6' sturgeon would be pretty darned scary!
@Artemis_2024 That's beautiful!
@Katmary71 It was really good. Great discussion question! That's good you got the allergy shot. Can you tell a difference yet?
@gemwolf110 I'm so sorry for your uncle's passing away and your dog having this episode. I hope your pup is okay. Big HUGS.
WEEKLY QUESTION: What are you grateful for having in your neighborhood, city, or country? There is so much to like about where I live: the weather is generally good (although it does get to the 40s in the mornings of winter and up to 90s-100s in the day in summer), there are all sorts of cultural and art events going on, lots of good restaurants, lots of places to walk (although not in my immediate neighborhood, which is kind of a bad part of town), lots of places to hike, and of course, there is the ocean! I have lived here for over 20 years and I never want to live anywhere else.
Hi all. I had a good day yesterday (and no ice cream!). For dinner, we had Fresh Creative Foods Gyro Express Meal Kit from Sam's Club. The pitas fell apart so next time, I would make a bowl out of it. But it was tasty. I made homemade hummus to go with it. A nice and easy meal. I've been doing these exercises that the chiropractor gave me to do and it feels really good when I do them.

WEEKLY QUESTION:
What are you grateful for having in your neighborhood, city, state, or country?
I'm grateful for having three nature preserve, practically in my backyard. These areas provide many outdoor recreational opportunities. I am able to enjoy hiking, fishing, kayak/canoeing, hunting for mushroom and asparagus, observing the wildlife, the beautiful trees, the marsh, the river, and lake. I'm grateful that Indiana has four seasons. I enjoy the spring as everything begins to bloom, the warm summer nights, the fall leaves changing, and the white winter snow. I am also grateful to live in a country with a democracy. I appreciate having an environment that respects human rights, our basic freedoms, and the intentions of "WE" the people is exercised. I will be exercising my right to vote, here in Indiana primaries, on May 7th.💪Mission Slimpossible Strong!💪5 -
Quick check in as I wait at the dentist office:). It has been a lovely week and a half, I am sleeping and have some energy:). I have actually been out to lunch a couple of times with friends and went to a moss art workshop with my daughter.
I have NOT been good about tracking the last few days, but today is a new day!
I hope everyone has a great day, I am now going to catch up on some of your posts🥰5 -

Goooooooooood moooooorrrrrrning TEAM MISSION SLIMPOSSIBLE!!!!!!!!
Yesterday started off good and then an email cast a shadow on that. It does however lead toward the end of a part of my life and i need to mentally convince myself it will be ok. I feel God led me to a place of good out of a place of bad.
With that i am not a person who does well with compliments but i do appreciate them, the likes and virtual hugs.
I have noticed a few have gains. Just dont be down about it. I know it is hard to act on. Heck ive been there. I was the best at beating myself up. It took quite a while thanks to the captains and motivator to stop that.
Remember gain or loss the TEAM is here for you. YOU!!! YOU are AWESOME!!!!!!5 -

I forgot to answer my own question yesterday, haha. I'm grateful the town I'm in is friendly, somewhat small on the outskirt of bigger towns, and I'm close enough to stores that I can drive there. I really appreciate the food bank farm and the spirit of giving in this area and what an amazing garden community there is. My neighbors are all pretty awesome, we're in a small neighborhood of 16 houses and I count a few as “real” friends.
@gemwolf110 I'm so sorry to hear all this sad news. I hope your dog's issue was a one-and-done too. Hugs to you.
@trooworld No difference with the allergy shots, it's supposed to make a difference once in maintenance. Your meal sounds real good but bummer on those pitas. Can you feel a difference yet with the exercises? I'm glad it doesn't hurt to do them.
@Veta2018 Your location sounds perfect for you I'm glad you can see all the good around you.
@laurelfit57 You'll have to share about moss art! All I can picture is moss poles but I'm guessing that's not what you mean.
@Artemis_2024 That's definitely an improvement saving the nap until after working out!
@19shmoo69 Good morning! I hope the change is a good thing. I'm glad you no longer beat yourself up that's great. You're awesome too, thank you!
Hi team! I got up and did weight-lifting then went to the farm. There's a young man at work who was interested in going, he was in with a bad crowd and and his mental health crashed and he's crawling out from under that and trying to find himself. He's cleaning the holistic clinic in exchange for treatment and I thought the farm would be up his alley on getting in touch with the community and learning something new and he really loved it there. I did lots of mustard bunches today! Things at work are going well, I'm working on getting the stack of files entered and filed. I brought home the entry rug at work to wash as it's so grimy it will look awful on camera Friday so figured it was worth risking a wash. I also did a curbside pickup of a lot of dirt and my Amazon delivery of more grow bags just came (and a Chinese herb to bust up my kidney stone) so I'm headed outside after this. Have a great Thursday!

Hey all
I am really loving these daily questions and reading your responses
I live in Southwestern Ontario. I love our seasons. Every new season has amazing sights, smells and nostalgic memories for me. I’m thrilling in the colours of spring at the moment and the fact you can literally see the growth from morning to afternoon as the trees burst into leaf. I also love how the sun is up until almost 10pm around the summer solstice.
I love our parks, conservation areas and hiking trails. I love our diversity. I love the opportunities in my town for kids and adults to get active and get involved in serving the community.
I love many of the freedoms I enjoy as a woman in Canada and I don’t take them for granted.
I love living within an hour of 3 Great Lakes and Niagara Falls. And I am super excited that I can now count bald eagles as one of my fairly common bird sightings. (I’ll never get tired of that)
I love hearing about all of your hometowns! Thanks for sharing7 -

@Veta2018 Where you live sounds beautiful.
@laurelfit57 I'm so glad you continue to sleep better. Have a great day!
@Artemis_2024 Thanks, I love that area of the county! It's in the ritzy part of town called "La Jolla". Good job on the run!
@19shmoo69 I'm sorry about the email you received. All will work out. Great pep talk, I needed that!
@Katmary71 Your town sounds nice. Yeah those pitas sucked lol. I am spoiled because I have a good international market I get real pitas from! I may be able to tell a slight difference but I'm not sure. How nice of you to think the farm will help that young man. How did he do? Good no zero day!
@megnolia82 How cool to see bald eagles!
Hi all. I've been watching "Live to 100: Secrets of the Blue Zones" on Netflix: https://www.netflix.com/title/81214929 It's really profound, how these people are living. It has inspired me to buy the cookbook and workbook and try it out. I highly recommend it. Yesterday was a good day, I ate well and stuck to the plan and did my chiropractic exercises. I also took a chance with my foot and went for a walk on my lunch break. Not a long one, but a good start. It was sunny out and it was actually a little hot, so I went inside and did a few laps inside the building.

Hi team! On the run today and wanted to make sure I got this posted, have a great Thursday!1 -
@Katmary71 I hope the young man can turn his life around. Sometimes, all these kids need is knowing someone cares. Are you still nervous about Friday? You will be great!
@trooworld, I have heard about the Blue Zone people and their longevity. It's definitely worth looking into. Thanks for the link; I will check it out!
Good morning! I forgot to check in yesterday. I had lunch with my bestie and then went over to see my nieces and nephews. The baby is now four months old and is so stinking cute! Today is my sister’s birthday and we are going to celebrate tonight with pizza and some beers. So, this morning I will do a extra long workout to help balance what I will be consuming later. I joined a diet bet with my Beachbody group and need to lose 4% of my weight to get part of the prize money. That is just under 10 lbs, so I need to really buckle down and make it happen!
WEEKLY QUESTION: What are you grateful for having in your neighborhood, city, or country?
I live in Georgia and I’m grateful for my quiet, safe neighborhood where the people are friendly but not nosy. I’m grateful for my city/state, which is beautiful and has all four seasons represented. I’m not grateful for the yellow pollen season, but we can’t have everything. I’m grateful for my country, where we are free to worship and believe in what we choose. And while we often see the worst behavior from people on the news, I believe that most of us are just good, decent people wanting to take care of our families, work hard, and do what we can to make a difference. At least I pray we are!

I continue to feel better except for this cough. For that reason I did not go back to water aerobics. My sugar fluctuates and this morning is 184. Over this last week it has been as high as 223. I plan to go back to water aerobics next week when this cough is better. I know the movement will be very beneficial to my whole body. Hopefully that will get my numbers to trending back down like they were. Thanks for all the well wishes and encouragement! Let's go get it!!8 -

Thursday Ice Breaker Question
What are your favorite songs from your teenage years that you still rock out to when nobody else is listening?
Back in the day my go to music was Twisted Sister, The Price (song).
The unique thing is I listen to music everyday. I listened to Stryper back then and I still listen to them. Thesing then was Calling in You and now it is No More Hell to Pay.
But nowadays I dig to find Christian bands I have never heard of.3 -
@vegan4lyfe2012 Toona Melts sounds delicious. I love asparagus too. I usually make Asparagus soup with lemon and parmesan. https://www.onceuponachef.com/recipes/asparagus-soup-with-lemon-and-parmesan.html. Your neighborhood sounds so beautiful. 6ft sturgeon is pretty scary
( had to google it.)
@Artemis_2024 Welcome to the group! Wow your neighborhood is so beautiful
@FushiaKat Congrats on your weight loss this week. Reading about your cats made me laugh. Congrats on tracking your food every day, that's an awesome commitment.
@Katmary71 Thank you. Ahh, it's sad, but I'm sure they must be happy to have a cool aunt nearby. I grew up in a similar situation with no one of my age. Most of the kids in my neighborhood were way younger than me. ( I became their gang leader, lol ) Glad you were able to help that person. I like growing my plants in grow bags too. What size grow bags did you order?
@gemwolf110 I'm so sorry you are going through such a rough week. Lots of hugs. I'm glad to hear Kiara is doing better.
@trooworld Thanks for sharing the pasta recipe with Asparagus. It looks so delicious will give it a try. Glad to hear that chiropractor-recommended exercises are working out for you. Hope it heels soon. Thanks for sharing the pic of seals sunbathing. When we visited California a few years back our host took us to the beach to see the seals. It was so much fun. Kids were making seal noises the whole way back. Live to 100 is inspiring. I can learn a thing or two from it.
@Veta2018 Your neighborhood sounds fun. Glad you are enjoying it.
@laurelfit57 Moss art workshop sounds interesting. What did you guys make?
@megnolia82 An hour's drive from Niagara Falls !! That's awesome.
@TeresaW2024 Happy Birthday to your sister. Cheering for you to reduce 4% weight of your weight. You can do it !!
@askewcr Glad to hear that your sugar numbers are getting better. Water aerobics sounds fun. Hope you can do it next week.
Hi All. I'm in red this week all thanks to the ice cream I had over the weekend. I have a hard time saying no to ice creams and popcorn. I joined a 30-day no-sugar challenge with my friend. Hopefully, I can make it to the end. Yesterday was a good day, Walked 11k steps, ate within the calorie limit, and forced myself to drink some water.

Hi all,
I was down a couple of pounds today and decided to celebrate by munching through the afternoon. I know all about permission structures but I still fall victim to them somehow. The psychology of weight loss is so weird!
I have to run, but good luck, everyone, especially with the weekend looming. . .4 -
@Artemis_2024 – Yes, some of those specialty cheezes can really cause some cravings! Hmmm…I never thought to switch up my salt & pepper for some Everything Bagel seasoning. I’ll give it a try! What a gorgeous area where you live! Now THAT is some serious hiking!
@Katmary71 – Asparagus in pasta does sound good. I plan on giving @trooworld’s recipe a try.
@gemwolf110 – Hugs. I’m so sorry.
@trooworld – I’m totally going to make your recipe…if my scatterbrain can get all the ingredients! I went to the grocery store yesterday and bought everything I needed…except the peas! URG! Those seals are adorable. I saw them at Pier 39 (I think that’s what it was called) when I was in Sacramento for a vacation…about 26 years ago! Man, time flies!
@19shmoo69 – I’m sorry about the email. I hope and pray everything works out for the best.
@askewcr – I hope that cough gets under control!
@Divya365 – Your asparagus soup recipe is definitely one that I’m going to try! Thank you! And yes, 6 ft sturgeon ARE scary…but thankfully they don’t get too close to shore Maybe we should feed them all the excess ice cream so we aren’t tempted!
Another crazy busy day. I have discovered the best stamping time for me now is between midnight and 1am. Makes for a very sleepy Jennifer, tho. Every day right now is just lather, rinse, repeat. Thanks for all the asparagus ideas, everyone! Later, gaters!
What are your favorite songs from your teenage years that you still rock out to when nobody else is listening?
I still have quite an assortment of CDs in my car. I never know what I’m going to be in the mood for and my range is kinda funny…my all time fave band would be The Cure, with songs by Tears for Fears and Queen close behind. Sometimes I want to hear some old Eminem, but sometimes I want to hear 2 Pac. Sometimes I want some good old Petra (first band concert I ever attended), but sometimes Faith No More. And I will listen to all of them with my kids in the car and they will sing along and rock out with me. Nothing funnier than all of us shouting “No Sleep Till Brookly!” Cuz who doesn’t love The Beastie Boys, am I right?

@vegan4lyfe2012 - try adding a pinch of red pepper flakes to your asparagus. (with your current seasonings) Adds a nice zip.
@19shmoo69 - you were kind of cryptic about that email you received. I hope everything is OK. I used to LOVE Stryper- I only have cassettes of their music, maybe I will have to update my collection.
Songs: Celebration by Kool and the Gang- makes me think of the first dance I went to in middle school
Chantilly Lace by the Big Bopper- makes me think of going to my grandma's house where my uncle would let me jump on his bed.
Not much has been going on here, so I haven't been posting. I keep gaining and losing the same pound and I am sick of it.

@tfelts147 way to go!
@19shmoo69 ooh I missed the Thursday question. I still love my teenage bands! Greenday, Weezer, Our Lady Peace, Spice Girls… I’ll lose my mind when Macarena or Tubthumping or Mambo #5 or Walking on the Sun, Blur song 2 come on… oh gosh yeah I love the 90s lol!
