Fogged in here. T-storms yesterday, maybe some today as well. Will get in an early walk at least.

Noticing swelling in right leg lately, about a week or so. I usually have some swelling later in the day, especially if I don't get in a hike, or if the weather is very warm, and doc has me on fluid pill since BP got too high. Always goes away by morning. But this is new and I'm calling my doctor to get checked. The right leg looks fatter than the left. Figured it was just an anomaly but hasn't gone away. Same leg they borrowed a vein to put in my heart 24 years ago.

DS and GF took me and EX out to dinner yesterday. Longfellow's Wayside Inn, a 1725 restaurant with uncomfortable wooden chairs but good food. Had awesome baked salmon.

Lee, that's some hunk of brisket; I can smell it from here.

    Mornin' gents.

I know all of you remember and honor those who have fallen in defense of our country. Coincidentally, I have been reading a novel about a man whose name wasn't on the Vietnam Memorial because when he died in a helicopter crash in the jungle, another man assumed his identity, then murdered a man and then deserted. A retired MP hunted him down, and justice was served in the end.
Just finished wrapping brisket in butcher paper for last stage of cook. Probably another 3-4 hours and then rest it in a pre-heated cooler. Should have taken a photo before wrapping. Beautiful bark after 12 hours at 185 degrees F. I even got a decent night's sleep.
3 oz of brisket is going to cost me 11 points. Satan, get thee behind me!
When is the last time you saw the cardiologist, Mike? Or maybe need an ultrasound to rule to evaluate venous return? I take hydrochlorthiazide to help manage lower leg swelling and mild BP issues.
Most folks around here celebrated yesterday because today is a bit wonky weather wise. We will almost certainly be congregating inside.

    Onward, and hopefully, downward ;-)

    Good morning!

Lee, that sounds like an awesome brisket. I cooked burgers on my smoker yesterday.

Saturday night we had wild storms and the internet has been out. I am using a rigged WIFI hotspot right now, but have very limited time. Thank you T-Mobile. We lost several small branches but nothing big. Internet is still out. Thank you Spectrum.

I have been fighting exhaustion and anxiety all weekend. This work thing is killing me, literally, I think.

Honoring in prayer those who have served our country and those who have died for our country.

    Good morning gentlemen.

Watched the National Memorial Day Concert on PBS last night and had tears running down my face several times. My first act, this morning, was to raise the Flag, then lower it to half-staff. At noon I'll raise it to full staff. Such small ceremonies are important to me. Saluting and honoring those who have died in our nation's uniforms.

Just the two of us for supper, so I'm just grilling brats and cooking some sauerkraut for supper.

    Good Morning

I thought the National Memorial Day Concert would be on today, Memorial Day. I missed it. I can’t drink coffee anymore but we usually head over to Starbucks and buy a poppy and chat with the vets who set up outside. We enjoyed our time at the Art & Wind Festival though the wind was somewhat lacking till later in the day. But we enjoyed some music, some kite choreography demonstrations and a lot of walking. We managed to avoid eating fair type food and got in more exercise than I have in gotten in a while and avoided stomach issues. Today we are going to talk more about getting back into moving mode during my rehab. It will take a lot of teamwork to stay withing the Drs guidelines. Tri Tip is ready to go for the Weber tonight.
