    Big health issues.
Please keep good thoughts for my pup. We ended up in the ER until 5:30 this morning. He was running a fever and it was still climbing after we got there. Ran lots of tests to rule out things. His fever was dropping when we left. We will be seeing our vet for more extensive panels and bloodwork because he is anemic and his platelet counts are down. I try so hard to keep him from eating stuff he shouldn’t, got him through the "labs eat everything" stage, make sure he has all the protection from ticks and Lyme since we have the highest tick infestation in the country and he is not even two and already exhibiting health issues.

@clepant - Oh No!!! Have they figure out what is going wrong yet? Ehrlichia and ITP are the first two things that come to mind without seeing the bloodwork. Rat Bait shouldn't produce a fever. I really hope he is doing better today. I'm so sorry you're going through this. These are our children and is some cases we like them better than our children. Keep us posted on how he is doing. Shoot me a message if you have specific questions.

Thanks folks for good thoughts. Brinkley goes to see our vet tomorrow. His fever is gone and they thought he had gastritiis. I am a bit concerned of his blood work. The last time I saw this in one of my dogs, I was looking at Leukemia. His gums are not pale, he is no longer lethargic, and he is more of his old self today. Thanks Dean for reaching out. I will keep everyone posted.

And that's GOAL for @SUFFERLANDRIAN and I!!! :drinker: CONGRATS!

Back from camping yesterday, completely worn out, but we very much enjoyed ourselves this long weekend! Annnnd then today starts out a complete sh**show and we have to hit the ground running. My wife's sister called to tell us that Dad fell down the stairs and broke his hip. He's 81 and severely overweight. Combined with his other many health problems, he likely won't be going home again. Especially after the paramedics had to look through his house for the keys to lock the house and car. To say it's a mess, is a gross understatement. He had surgery shortly after lunch and seemed to come through that okay. He's still pretty loopy from the pain meds they have him on so he's doing just fine.

Then my wife has been monitoring her incision from her heel spur/achilles surgery and we were becoming concerned because the redness around it was spreading. She took some pictures this morning and sent them to her surgeon. They called her while she was at the hospital with her sister and Dad in surgery and they said to get to their office *NOW*. Based on the picture, they were going to wheel her straight into surgery because the infection looked to be taking hold, at least externally on the skin. Fortunately when they saw it in person, it looked like they might be able to treat it without surgery. Some cleaning up the site, debridement, a different bandaging technique to pull fluid out, and a preventative antibiotic prescription, and they sent her on her way. She was given instructions on how to bandage it at home and has to go back every 2 days for the next 2-3 weeks so they can see how it is responding. We're both really hoping this works because if the infection gets inside the wound and into the tendon or bone, the surgery will be MUCH more involved and painful and a huge setback. Not to mention a much longer recovery than she has already had to endure. :disappointed:

    Sometimes when it rains....

@Dave: Just when you think you can come up for air and breath, stuff like this happens. I can certainly understand what you are going through. I will keep your dad in y y prayers. Would you message me and share his first name. I know God knows who I am referring to, but it is nice for me to put a name to my prayers. I will also pray for your wife. I am glad she did not need surgery too, but still, it is a set back. Hang in there, take a big breath and remember that you can only do what you are able to do.

Geez Dave, you have your hands full. Thinking good thoughts for them and @clepants fur baby.

Finished the six laser treatments on the hip bursitis and it feels like it's gone. I have another issue on that hip/glute which is probably piriformis syndrome. Having the area checked next week when I go for the recheck from the hip treatments. This one is even more annoying.

Weather for the past few days has been sunny without being really hot and lots of wind, which I love, so I've gotten my *kitten* out in it.

Adding 10.4 so 35.4/30 if my math is mathing

@Dave - Holy smokes. When it rains it pours doesn't even begin to describe what you are going through! Keep us posted on both your father and your wife. I can't believe the string of bad luck you're on. It reminds me of the old Hee Haw song. "If it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all". Ya'll are in our thoughts.

I feel for you. I had performiis syndrome on my left side. It took lots of chiropractic treatments and I think it may be back and now be causing my sciatica. Keeping good thought for you.

And that's GOAL for @KARID1114, @KAR328, @BELLE_74, and @TAHM42!!!! CONGRATS!!! Not only that, it's the first time in MANY months that EVERYBODY has made their goals! In fact it was May of last year the last time. Great job, everyone!!

@KAR328 - So glad the treatments worked for your hip issue!! Now let's hope the piriformis goes away without a lot of fuss. That one IS a real bugger.

@DEAN - I know that song very well! My father used to watch Hee Haw regularly!

Update on Father-in-Law and wife: FIL's surgery went very well. He's still in the hospital dealing with a couple of issues that they're running tests to figure out what's going on. And he's already being stubborn and refusing to use the spirometer or do the three simple exercises he's supposed to do in bed 2-3x a day. *SMH* Dang stubborn old coot! Can't tell him anything. Well, when he gets pneumonia or blood clots again from not doing what he's told, he'll have no-one to blame but himself.

My wife's incision site is looking MUCH, MUCH better. Looks like they won't need to take any drastic measures. Super thankful for that!! And thanks everyone that sent prayers or healing thoughts, spoken or unspoken.
